If Animal Crossing was good, this is great!
It's so nice to find a game that's human-scaled, cute and friendly. And the game arc goes on for virtual years. Compared to a Star Wars game, this is a MUCH greater value.
Water your crops, feed and brush your animals. Find a wife. Raise a child. Grow prize melons, create new hybrids.
This is such a unique game that you've really got to try it out for yourself. My kids (5 and 9) love the game. Some reading ability is necessary to play the game.
Cool Game for All Ages

I am an "old woman" according to my children (I'm 40).
I have been playing Harvest Moon FOMT on my Gameboy Advance (yes, I have one of my own), and I love it! My husband always laughs at me because I play it all the time. He doesn't mind though, because he just bought the GameCube version for me a couple days ago.
This new game is very intriguing. I love the graphics and the music. The cow already seems to love me, so I guess I'm on the right track. It's a little more complicated than the GBA version, so I'm still learning how to play. What I've seen so far is really cool. I think I've found a new favorite game. Up until now, I have concentrated on Animal Crossing on my GameCube. It's nice to have another fun game for my GameCube system.
Looks Great

The first time I ever played a Harvest Moon game I loved it. In Harvest Moon:A Wonderful Life, you have a whole lifetime on the farm, actually only thirty years, but close enough. There's loads of new stuff, you can grow new vegetables, get new animals including ducks and goats, you can date, get married and even have kids. Another neat feature is that you can connect your Gameboy Advance with Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town in it to your Gamecube to get new minigames. All of this is mostly what I've read from Nintendo Power, so all of it may not be correct, but even so this looks like a great game. 5 stars!
The Best Harvest Moon Yet.

I haven't had the oppurtunity to play this game yet, but I can already tell that this game is the best Harvest Moon yet. Not only do you have the best qualities of Harvest Moon, they've actually added more! You age, (your life span is about thirty years on the game. You start from around late teens to twenties and work yourself into retirement.) The amount of time it takes to beat the game is approximated at about 40 hours. There are only three girls to chose from on the game to marry, but they all have different children, in which you can raise to help you on the farm! The graphics look wonderful, this game has to be an all around must buy for old and new Harvest Moon fans alike!
Big Game, More Works, Lots of Fun!!

Hey,
I just starting playing this game (jp version) for two weeks now. I just want to give more informations to those HM fans who are still not sure how does this game works.
(+) I think the graphic is pretty good. You even can change the music by putting different "music cds" in to the music machine in your house. You now have more spaces in your farm. I think it is very convenient to have a bell in the barn where you can just press it to tell your animate (horse, cow, sheep, ect) to go in/outside. Also, you can get milk from your cow twice a day (2 or more bottles). You can sell your own stuffs in the tree next to the inn, however, sometimes it is very hard to get a customer to buy your stuffs. Most of the time, they want to buy things that you dont want to sell (ex: your farming tools).
I like the way that you can order most of the items in the storage room area (by using the notebook).
Also, you can carry lots of stuffs in your pocket.
(-) On the other hand, you have to feed the cow twice/day, and also, you have to water your crops twice/three times a day. If it gets too dry, it will died immediately.
The day is kind of short, and you get hungry easily at the beginning because the farming tools you have are at the lowest level, where you need to buy a better one later on. The life could be very difficult at the beginning... you need to earn money and also you need to date the girl you like. IF you dont get marry by the end of the 1st year, then you cannot go on to the 2nd chapter... you will stay in the FREE-PLAY mode, instead of the STORY mode.
Moreover, the weather is not stable sometimes, it can rain in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. Sometimes, I leave my animate out and go on for fishing... then suddenly it rains and so I need to work all the way back to call them back.
*** Overall, I think the game is worth to play. ^WORKING HARD & HAVE FUN^ are the whole concept to this game!! I'm highly recommanded you to buy the US version when it comes out in Jan 2004. It is somewhat stressful to play in the JP version.. >.< ...unless your Japanese is very good (which isn't me).
Awesome game

I haven't played this game yet. In fact, I haven't played the game boy advanced one yet either. I did play the super nintendo version. It was easily one of the best games I have ever played. Including gamecube games. I like Harvest Moon because
1. It is a great RPG
2. You dont have to concentrate to hard, but you do have to think
3. You get to get married and have babies
4. and last but best... You get to have COWS!
I absolutely LOVE livestock. In the super nintendo version i had as many cows and chickens possible. I was always brushing milking and talking to my cows, I barely had any time to farm. Not that I cared. my daily schedule
1. talk to wife
2. talk and hold baby
3. watch TV for weather
4. go outside and into cow pen
5. feed, brush, talk to, and milk my 12 cows.
6. go outside and into chicken coop
7. feed chickens and sell some eggs. always keep one incubated
8. water or plant turnips or maybe potatos. they grow fastest
9. go to town and get some sort of gift for my beautiful wife.
10.fix fences with rocks.
11.visit wife and baby in workshop making some sort of machine.
12.go to bed...
I am sure with way better 3D graphics and a new story, and new girls... that this game will be way better and i will get it the day it comes out.
I desperately reccomend this game to anyone.

I rented this at Blockbuster last week and loved it! At first, the game felt VERY tedious, but after the first game day (when I finally figured out how you milk/feed the cow), it was great! You can have chickens, goats, ducks, a pointy/long-eared dog, a chihuahua, a cat, a (as your child calls it) a fat moo cow, a wife, and last but not least... A KID! I'm almost at the end of Year 2, I'm married to Celia and have a son named Thomas. I also have the Food Processing room, three orange trees, and a grape tree. This game is really fun, now, here are my tips:
1. Befriend Daryl (the nutty mad scientist; give him fish) and he'll give you the 6000G Seed Maker FREE!
2. When your tree fruit can be harvested, put it in the seed maker for lots more money:
1 Grape=2 Bags of seeds
1 Grape=about 40G
1 Seed bag=450G
3. Befriend Old Lady Romana. She'll give you a special watering can, and if you wake up at a later time than your wife in fall of Chappie 2, she'll give you a cat.
4. Be good friends with Carter and find all six rare tablets (one new one per year for six years, or until you find them all) at the Dig Site for him. Late in the game, he might give you a Chihuahua.
I give this game a 9,000,000 out of 10 beacuse of good music, excellent graphics, and gameplay that's out of this world fun!

this game is great!I loved it the minute I got it.It has to be one of my fav games on gamecube.I wish you could choose your gender(cause` I`m a girl)because it`s really hard choosing your wife cause` you dunno if she`s the right one!much easier for you to pick a guy.anyway, for a tip don`t pick the blond(I forget her name)I think it`s Muffy.here is another tip:
tomato:spring-fall
watermelon:spring-summer
melon:summer-fall
strawberry:fall-spring
turnip:summer-winter
potato:winter-spring
carrot:fall-winter
sweet potato:fall
and another thing:
watermelons, melons and sweet potatos make the most money so plant them in the big field.Turnips are a rip off.Don`t waste money on cows.(their milk runs out after a year or so)Buy sheep instead and take good care of em` so you can get gold wool.and let chickens run loose outside in your field rain or shine, you don`t have to care for them and you`ll get gold eggs.believe me,all of these tips helped me a lot in this game!

Harvest moon is a great game. It's very simple.Pretty much all you do is grow crops, raise animals, and start a family of your own.
Starting a family is my favorite part.
There's a secret though. If you want to have a baby girl insted of a boy.
You go to the harvest spirtes house.
On the right side of your room is little pots.
If you press them it with say something like go a way.KEEP ON PRESSING IT UNTIL IT SAYS"I will grant your wish and then it will ask you if you want a boy or a girl.(I would go for the girl).(:

I love harvest moon I have played the very first one made for america, back when it came out for the first gameboy ever. I instantly fell in love, after that I bought every Harvest Moon that was on n64-ps2. All were great except save the farm land i was dissapointed. Anyway A wonderful life looks absolutly beautiful and stunning! Ive been reading reviews going to natsume reading about the game. You are able to raise new animals with the old favorites, get married and have a child, and this time it actually grows with time and its more indepth. As before it just stayed a baby you never got old and that was it. This game you have 30 years and work into retirment, as well as having your child help you on the farm. Also big bonus is 40 new characters so the entire game is gonna have tons to explore. I also think no matter how many times you play it, there will always be something you didnt find. You can also take friends of mineral (remake of back to nature for ps) and hook it up to your gamecube to join with this game. All and all the time wait is annoying, and im dieing as much as the next person to get it, but this I promise you it will be worth the wait im pre-ordering mine right now. I suggest if you love harvest moon you do the same! I hope this review was helpful.
