There is sooo much to do! You could be an animal caretaker, a farmer, or both! You get married to 1 of 3 girls,(If you don't attempt to build a relationship one will propose to YOU during the first year.) and have aa son. He starts as a toddler, grows into a child, then a teen, then turns into an adult. Your son gets a job based on how you influence him as a child, and(this sorta stinks) over time you "age"(get gray hair) It also has fantastic graphics and, um...suprising suprises!
When they say "Wonderful Life" they mean it!

I first played this game when I went over to my friend's house, and I loved it right away!
The next day, I went to the store and bought it.
It is great!
You can have up to 8 animals in the barn including horses, cows, goats, and sheep!
You can also have chickens and ducks.
Besides the regular fruits and vegetables, you can grow hybrid crops and hybrids of hybrids!
I have become obsessed with crops, and planted 60 one season!
There are 6 chapters in the game, each 1 to 3 years long. A few years pass between chapters.
You can also get married and have a son!
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
-Awesome graphics!
-Tons of crops and animals
-Your life in the game lasts a long time; I'm only on the 2nd chapter.
-With all the work you have to do, you're hardly ever bored!
-You can become friends with the townsfolk
Cons:
-Some of the characters could be a little smarter.
-Without a horse, it takes forever to get around. (Luckily, you get one way at the beginning of the game)
-You have to play as a boy (this is not a big problem, even if you are a girl)
Overall, I'd say this game rocks your socks!
I highly reccomend Harvest Moon, A Wonderful Life.

This is a very fun game and it is extremely addictive. i got it for my birthday actually before it but i wasn't suppose to open it until then. i played it when everyone was out and to my family a game is a game there is no difference so they never found out. anyway u get a dog that is very friendly (after a while of feeding it), chickens that might produce golden eggs after good care, cows that give u milk, a horse that never dies which can be ridden, ducks in the summer, sheep, and a goat that u just want to kill even though its bad it dirves u crazy until u stop feeding it and leave it in the rain. again anyway a wife is also needed in the 2 chapter of your life and u also get a son depending on which girl u marry ur son's personality is different. there are 3 girls to marry Nami, Muffy, and Celia. oyur house gets additions as you progress and the characters also age. this is a very good game with good graphics, a mediocre story line, and addictive hours of play.
One of the funnest games in the world!

I am torn about Harvest Moon. On the one hand it's impossibly cute, it can be played and enjoyed by everyone from little kids to adults, it's non-violent (except for those times when I hit the wrong button and whacked my horse with a pick-axe--he's okay, btw), and it really is incredibly engrossing.
On the other hand, I get up every morning, go to work, make decisions about my job, interact with people, play with my dog, spend time with my wife, keep up my house, do yardwork--all the things that you have to do in the game. I stopped playing when I found myself fretting about my video-dog and noticed my actual dog sitting on the floor, staring at me.
Don't ge me wrong, it's a neat little game and I can see why some people like it so much. For me, I'd rather do something in a video game (win a World Series, pilot the Millennium Falcon) that I don't already do all day.
I give it one star for being so darn cute, one star for espousing such a strong work ethic.
This Game is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are a Die-hard fan or RPG's, You should get this game. Who would ever know that farming was as fun as this? The story is, There isn't any! you start out as a young boy(Around his late teens and can grow up and age(Bad thing is you die.)
You can have a dog, Cow, Horses, Goats and sheeps, Chickens (Make sure you feed your animals, or they could die)
GAME PLAY:5
Growing crops and taking care of animals may not seem fun at first, But it is once you get the hang of it. If you befriend a Celia,Maybe a goody girl. Nami, The un-friendly cool one.. or Muffy,The blondee. You can marry them and have a child. The child is different depending on who you marry. Like if you marry Nami, you get a calmer boy with red hair (From my expreience from the game).Don't worry, the kids arn't as ugly as those in Sims bustin' out.(As everyone sais the kids in sims are ugly) You can only have 1 child and its a boy! It'd be nice if you could have boy or girl but, thats that.
The game spans 30 years, From a teen, Youth, Adult, old man.
You can also extend your house (Which is expensive, Sells tuff will ya?) Your house gets bigger each chapter. Now off to the amazing graphics
GRAPHICS:3
These graphics are very good, They look a little like anime(But not cel shaded) I liked Save the home land graphics more though.
But some characters may look a bit "Chubby and fat" And skinny.
One of the characters might remind you of Elvis!
SOUND:5
Harvest moon sound has always been great. Some of them are very catchy tunes that might stay in your head for a while.
OVERALL:5
The game is good for all ages, But it is more understandable for someone 7 or older. If you want to play games like raising a family or animals, This game is a must buy! If you like Sims you might like this and find this a tiny bit similar (You can't build houses or create a character though. And Hm people speak like regular people) First rent it, but i'd buy it.
If you like it,you must BUY it! And if parents are reading this, Give this to your child(Make sure they understand how to play).
This is a must have! And I've only played 2 harvest moon games and i'm a big fan!
Surprisingly, Addictively Fun

Let me start out by saying that I'm 26 years old, have a full-time job, and a family.
I almost didn't get this game at all, because I had read a few lukewarm reviews of it and was generally skeptical that a farming sim game could have any entertainment value at all. So I waited quite a while to get it, until I found a great deal on it at a local store. After buying this game and trying it out for the first time, I realized that I had been totally and completely wrong about it. Surprisingly, this game is extremely fun and addictive for no apparent reason. In this way, it's much like Animal Crossing. Actually, I like it even better than Animal Crossing, because it doesn't use a real-time system, so you don't have to worry about playing it every day unless you want to. Another great feature is that each "day" in the game only lasts about 15 minutes, which makes it easy to play this game in short chunks of time, which is usually all I'm able to do in one sitting.
I had read reviews complaining that it's too difficult to cut the grass unless you line up precisely with each square of grass. It's really not hard at all! You just have to realize that when you start out, some of the squares of grass in your yard are already short and some are long. If you keep walking up to random squares of grass without bothering to notice if they actually need to be cut and try to cut them, of course you'll find it difficult to cut the grass. All you have to do to correct this problem is wait for all your grass to get long before trying to cut it, or pay attention to what you're trying to cut.
Don't believe the reviews that make this game sound tedious. It's really not tedious at all. It's a little bit repetitive, but all the things you do regularly are fun to do anyway. It gets especially fun as you get further into the game and get to court the local women, take up hobbies, purchase new animals and buildings, etc.
The game's graphics are fantastic, too. The actual character models aren't particularly amazing from a technical standpoint, but they're not bad at all, either, and in fact they have a very appealing design. The backgrounds, however, are technically stunning, and really do show off the GCN's processing power.
I love how the camera is never a problem in this game. You have a lot of control over it, but you almost never need to change it anyway. Even if you manage to get the camera into a weird position by casting your fishing rod from an odd angle while you're standing right under a tree and beside the waterfall, the game is smart enough to realize the problem and quickly correct it on its own with a smooth pan. I wish some other game developers would take a lesson from Natsume on this topic.
To summarize: If you're like me and were on the fence about buying this game, it's much, much better than you're expecting. I have played nothing else since I got it, and that was several weeks ago. It's very relaxing, pretty, and above all... FUN!
A WONDERFUL Life!
