DON'T BUY THIS!!

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 4 / 22

This Game is wicked dumb. It has no point. No levels. NO OBJECT!! All you do is try to impress REALLY ugly girls, and run around on your horse. This game is very weird if you are a girl, because you play a boy, who looks like a girl. So, it is very werid to play as a boy if you are a girl. Not to mentian it is really hard to get married. You have to marry them, or die. Please, don't buy this. It has nice pretty grapics. Thats it. Buy somthing else. Animal crossing is much better.

I'm Impressed!

HORRIBLE, THE WORST GAME EVER

Harvest Moon is the worst game ever. I've never seen such a horrible game, its a mess.

GOOD POINTS:
AMAZING GRAPHICS

BAD POINTS:
ANNOYING MUSIC
ANNOYING CHARTERS
TOTAL RIP OFF OF ANIMAL CROSSING (ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER)
YOU HAVE TO LITTLE CHOICES OF WIVES
YOUR VILLAGE IS TO SMALL

Basically you take over your dads farm. You can marry either a goody goody blonde, a hard working brown haired girl or a girl who looks like a boy who never talks. Your neighbors are weird (one family is big on excercising and has really annoying music and excercise equipment everywhere.) If you want a good life simulator play Animal Crossing. This game was rated E (it has alcohol usage and suggestive themes) This game is bad. Play Animal Crossing

I hate this game! It is soooooooo booooring. It is also for rednecks. It is so stupid. If you are looking for a fun game with violence and action, dont get this game.

Not satisfying, and addictive

This game is really bad and hard. You start as a rancher, but making money is very hard, you have to marry raise kids, like in real life, but it's not as it sounds, it's boring, cause you have to do everything all the time. Bottom line Don't buy it, if you haven't played the other ones

I am torn about Harvest Moon. On the one hand it's impossibly cute, it can be played and enjoyed by everyone from little kids to adults, it's non-violent (except for those times when I hit the wrong button and whacked my horse with a pick-axe--he's okay, btw), and it really is incredibly engrossing.

On the other hand, I get up every morning, go to work, make decisions about my job, interact with people, play with my dog, spend time with my wife, keep up my house, do yardwork--all the things that you have to do in the game. I stopped playing when I found myself fretting about my video-dog and noticed my actual dog sitting on the floor, staring at me.

Don't ge me wrong, it's a neat little game and I can see why some people like it so much. For me, I'd rather do something in a video game (win a World Series, pilot the Millennium Falcon) that I don't already do all day.

I give it one star for being so darn cute, one star for espousing such a strong work ethic.

Serious gamers only

I think you will probably need a college degree to play and fully enjoy this game - there is so many things that you must remember to do that it is truly intimidating. Such a wide range of mundane tasks that it will quickly become overwhelming for casual players. And to make it worse, you have to rush about to complete your bevy of chores because each "day" in the game only lasts about 10 minutes or so in real-time, which makes it frustrating - especially when your character gets tired and rests frequently. Too much to do and not enough time to do it.

The true sin of this game though, is the bland graphics and the dull washed-out colors. This is especially unforgiveable being on the Gamecube. Anyone who has played Super Mario Sunshine or Animal Crossing will know the Gamecube is famous for delivering a rich patina of beautiful gorgeous deep and vibrant colors. Not so here on Harvest Moon - heck! Even the color on the gamecase is bleached out.

I know there is a HUGE fanbase for Harvest Moon who will consider my review sacrilege, but that's ok. I was hoping this would be a good casual game for myself and my 8 yr old daughter, but this game is intended for the serious gamers only who have the time, the energy, and the patience required to get your money's worth out of this game.

Too Complex & Very Little In-Game Clues

Let me say right off the bat that I just bought this game and have been a HM fan since the snes days....But..This game...Is way too complex and not much in-game instructions are given at all...For example...When you a buy a pricey cow, you would think that the cow you are buying is able to give milk right away...right?...WRONG...First...You need to either purchase a bull or a miracle potent to make this cow pregnant...Then, after 30 days, the cow will give milk...Which is a really long time in this game!!!!But...Thats not all..I just bought a brown cow for $5000, which is pretty pricey in this game, and I also bought a miracle potent too, only to discover, afterwards, that the brown cow is too young to use the miracle potent...What the hell were the creators of this game thinking????I'm really frustrated to say the least over this game...It had such high potential, only to be dragged down by assenine complexities like this...And, this complexity is just one of many. Here's another example of assenidity..Numerous times throughout the game you are told that cheeze and butter will fetch a much higher price in the market place than ordinary milk...YET...You don't have a single clue at all as to HOW to even make cheeze or butter...Its bizarre!!!!!In addition...The love and marriage areas are equally frustrating.And...There is so much more that is either not explained at all or briefly touched on.I think that this game had so much potential, and that so much more could have been built into the game system, as far as information goes, but was totally ignored.Maybe, nintendo is just looking for us to spend more money on a game guide for HM: AWL...Well...They're not getting any more money out of me.Nintendo, as usual, has blown it.Don't waste your money on this game. The only saving point to this game is the graphics..Yet...As beautiful as the graphics are, and as hopeful as I was in believing that this game may be the one game that finally gave some credence to the dismal collection of RPG's for the nintendo game cube, I have become totally disillusioned, as usual with nintendo...I guess playstation is the way to go in regards to RPGs.Another nintendo RPG fiasco.
