When I bought this game, I never thought it would be so addictive. You find yourself living this game! From feeding chickens, gathering their eggs, milking the cows, selling the milkt, to growing the crops, & bending over backwards for the the local girl's hands in marriage, this game is constant fun. It always leaves you wondering "What will happen next?". It's a great game for all ages.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is a great game for all ages. IF you've ever played any of the of the other harvest moon games this one is a bit simalar. You plant crops, take care of animals, marry a girl, AND EVEN HAVE A KID! You can only marry 3 girls Ceila, Nami, and Muffy. the only hard thing is you have to capture their heart by giving them flowers and other things. You can rase animals like goats, chickens, sheep, cows and a horse. The point of the game is to live "A wonderful life".
This is one of the very few and unice games that you don't have to solve your problems with violence. It teaches you how to be responsible, caring for others, and how to have friends. Trust me any one who bys this game will enjoy it, even though it gets a little boring after a while but whin you find something to do it gets fun again. this game is defanetly worth every penny of it's purchase.

This game rulz!(...) I hate the word farm and all games with no violence...except this one. You can guess this is a farming game and that's true. But there's no combines or car on this you WALK!(or ride your horse) and do it by hand. Some say there are no festivals. WRONG! There's the harvest festival. The Graphics ain't the best and the music can get annoying but that's about all the bad things about this game I can think of.Your cow sounds hilarious 'cause it sounds like a t-rex gone crazy. You get married which is gross but at least she doesn't kiss you. (or i think she doesn't?) The days are long.(1 min. per hr.)but that's a good thing 'cause there's alot to do. Water plants feed animals milk cows date girls and eat. Like on most gamecube games i've played the people don't talk with voices. They use captions.(in otherwords the words are spelled out on the screen)One last thing. Each season is 10 days a year is 40 days and the game is 30 years long. This game rocks! BUY IT NOW!
THIS IS THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone that thinks this game is boring is really dumb!! :>(. This is the bast game ever! pros: You can marry one of three girls, you can have four kinds of cows so you can take a normal cow and breed it with a star cow, you can have chickens, ducks, a horse, a dog, a cat, a lizard, a son(when he grows up he will help on the farm)and your house gets bigger after you marry. cons: it is hard to get ducks and sometimes it gets pretty slow. I would give this game 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999 stars if I could!!!

Harvest moon is fun, but very repetitive. There is very little that you can do in it after you tend to the farm. There is one puzzle game, a excavation site with few things to dig up and thats pretty much it. Farming is fun, especially when you start cooking, and the marraige part adds a bit to the game, but they should have a larger choice of girls. Fishing is ok, but they dont have too many species of fish in the game. The graphics are pretty good but the music isnt that good. Luckily, you can get some different music. The cooking system is fun, and there are a fair number of recipes. If you can get past the first year, the game improves noticebly. You have a kid, a bigger house and a wife. The biggest problem is the fact that there is very little to do in the valley you live in. If you buy Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, the game improves quite a bit because you can visit Mineral Town. Not a game I would overly recommend, but a nice game if you're looking for something more casual and relaxed.
Good Game, Could Be Better

My husband bought me the game a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying it for the most part. (Though it's hard without a Strategy Guide - which is impossible to find.) At first, you have no clue what to do, but with the help of a few online FAQs, you get the hang of it.
There is a lot to do and it's sometimes a pain to keep up with. The crops require a lot of water and it doesn't rain much in the "summer season" when they need it most. Watering the crops (and pretty much every other action) takes a long time to do and time passes by quickly. Its hard to concentrate on both crops and the animals, but you do what you can. (I try to stick to this schedule: 4am to 6am watering crops. 6am to 9am animal care, collecting milk and eggs, 9am to Noon finish up any crop care, Noon to 5pm selling or buying items and fishing if I can squeeze it in, 5pm to 7pm animal care, 7pm to 9pm crop care or playing with son.) 9pm to 10pm go to sleep/save game.)
My biggest complaint is the wife. You are forced to get married after "a year." She doesn't do anything. She stays in the house and repeats the same few phrases anytime you interact with her. She doesn't cook meals for you or help with farm chores. She just stands in the house. While she is sweet and the son is adorable, I REALLY wish she'd DO SOMETHING. It would be nice if you could assign her a job, like doing all the watering or feeding all the animals or making several meals a day.
Slightly Disappointed

The first harvest moon game I ever experienced was harvest moon 64. I saw it in a Nintendo Power magazine and I was so incredibly exciting. You get married have kids and a farm? I know, I know sounds dumb but it really was addictingly amazing. When I got this game I was expecting great things but it was kinda a let down because my wife is really annoying and says the same phrases over and over including :( I'm so glad I said no to the first proposal. I wonder what would've happened if I didn't marry you ). I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean but it makes me want to divorce her. The biggest disappointment was the complete obliteration of one of the most important aspects of the game - - - the holidays. I could not believe they didn't put holidays in the game. I mean you still have a New Year's shin dig but it's so lame. But I do like this game they have included. It's sorta like connect the dots, except it's a competition and you have get the most triangles filled in to win.
Great game buy it while its on sale!

I bought this in July for the full price. My son got a gamecube for his 4th birthday. Most of the other games I bought for him he loves but he can't get into this one yet because it has alot of reading. My 7 year old likes riding the horse around and washing the animals, collecting eggs etc. But she skips over most of the conversation between characters. I enjoy playing it when they are in bed. I am currently in the second year (2nd chapeter) of the game.
