This game is awsome!!! Even thought there are not the many wives as in the other games but it is quite better. People say there are no Festivals in the game but that is not true. In the Fall you can trigger the Harvest festival. It just is people don't know what to do to trigger an festival or not now if there are any Festivals. Some people would't know, but I used my Nintendo Power issue which gave me the information.
Too Complex & Very Little In-Game Clues

Let me say right off the bat that I just bought this game and have been a HM fan since the snes days....But..This game...Is way too complex and not much in-game instructions are given at all...For example...When you a buy a pricey cow, you would think that the cow you are buying is able to give milk right away...right?...WRONG...First...You need to either purchase a bull or a miracle potent to make this cow pregnant...Then, after 30 days, the cow will give milk...Which is a really long time in this game!!!!But...Thats not all..I just bought a brown cow for $5000, which is pretty pricey in this game, and I also bought a miracle potent too, only to discover, afterwards, that the brown cow is too young to use the miracle potent...What the hell were the creators of this game thinking????I'm really frustrated to say the least over this game...It had such high potential, only to be dragged down by assenine complexities like this...And, this complexity is just one of many. Here's another example of assenidity..Numerous times throughout the game you are told that cheeze and butter will fetch a much higher price in the market place than ordinary milk...YET...You don't have a single clue at all as to HOW to even make cheeze or butter...Its bizarre!!!!!In addition...The love and marriage areas are equally frustrating.And...There is so much more that is either not explained at all or briefly touched on.I think that this game had so much potential, and that so much more could have been built into the game system, as far as information goes, but was totally ignored.Maybe, nintendo is just looking for us to spend more money on a game guide for HM: AWL...Well...They're not getting any more money out of me.Nintendo, as usual, has blown it.Don't waste your money on this game. The only saving point to this game is the graphics..Yet...As beautiful as the graphics are, and as hopeful as I was in believing that this game may be the one game that finally gave some credence to the dismal collection of RPG's for the nintendo game cube, I have become totally disillusioned, as usual with nintendo...I guess playstation is the way to go in regards to RPGs.Another nintendo RPG fiasco.
Who said farming had to be boring?

I've never played a single Harvest Moon game. Yes i was hooked on games but not as intense as now. I had the Snes when the first Harvest Moon game came out, but i didn't notice it. Besides, I got scared of buying video games for about 5 years (1997-2002). So during this time period i wasn't familar with Harvest Moon. The reason why is because while playing The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the game's memory got erased and I got so upset that from that point on until 2002, i was scared of buying games that i wasn't familiar with. So i stuck with mario and other games. Now, beginning from 2002, i got back into video games more deeply than ever before. But, it was kinda too late! By the time i started to think of buying a Harvest Moon game, the N64 and the SNES had died out and the GBC was on the brink of extinction. I got so upset with missing out on these games that the moment i found out that two new Harvest Moon games were coming out for the GBA and GCN, i promised myself to get them no matter what. Now let's get to the point. Even though it doesn't have any action, adventure, etc... i didn't matter to me, because based on the reviews and info i had obtained about the Harvest Moon series, i felt that farming wasn;t as boring as i originally thought it was. In the harvest moon series (including this and the GBa version) you get to get married (except in some HM games) get to know people, have kids, all that fun stuff. I'm so anxious to get this game, that i am going to reserve it. This will be my first Harvest Moon game that i will have bought. I personnally rank the Harvest Moon series as the 4th most successful RPG series in the United States and Japan. #1 would be the Dragon Warrior/Monsters series, #2 would be Final Fantasy (I"ve never played a single Final Fantasy Game ever, but i hope to get Tactics Advance soon) and the 3rd would be Pokemon. Well that's all for now. I write more as soon as i play this game in Febuary.
Great Game!

Ok, ok, I admit. I haven't played it... yet. As soon as it comes out, I'm getting it. Why? Because it is going to be a very nice game. Raise a family, a farm, and be responsable. I know this game is going to be awesome, because the previous Harvest Moons have been entertaining, and a good break from all the gore/violence genre of videogames. I hope you find this helpful, and that you buy it soon!
great game!

wow! i have been waiting for Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life to come out for a very long time, it's finally here and i've played it for a real long time. it's a great game. The graphics are really good, compared to the ones on N64's Harvest Moon. it's great that you have so much to do and i love that you can actually raise a child. i am just in awe. wonderful game, if you like RPG games you better try out this one.

Ok, first off, this is one of the best games in the series. There is a multitude of reasons for this: 1. 3-d graphics. 2. Growing older. 3. Raising children. Those are just some of the many new and improved features of this game. But here is the flaws: 1. NO FESTIVALS!! (COME ON) 2. A slightly bit more challenging (not very much) 3. And among other glitches that other people have told about in their reviews. Bottom Line: Even with all the glitches I think that this game truly revives the age old Harvest Moon series. If you are a fan of Animal Crossing or other slow, non action packed games, then you will love this game. It's also a must for ANY Harvest Moon fan. So go out and buy this game!!! NOW!!! I mean it. Or else I will send my attack dogs at you!!!

This game is good, however it is not amazing. I have been a Harvest Moon fan for several years and at first I was impressed by the depth that has been added to the series. That is the best quality of this game, it changes as you play. The main character ages along with his family. The environment allows you to influence what your child grows up to be, and their personality.
Not only do the main character and his family change, but the other inhabitants of the village do as well. People move in and out of town, have children of their own and some even die. You can fully interact with these people and doing so can trigger many events and stories.
The graphics are amazing (especially the water), and you can replay this game over and over again.
There are some bad points however. The main one for me was the lack of things to do. Once you gave established your farm there is little for you to do and as the game moves so slowly (24 minutes to a day) you begin to find yourself impatient for the year to end and for the world to change.
Also at some times the game seems too realistic. For example, rather than puttiing your crops in a bin at the end of the day, you have to go into the town and sell them in a market to passers by.
I hope this review has influenced you one way or another, although many long time Harvest Moon players may be dissapointed, new players have alot to appreciate in this game.

Ya know, I don't wanna make this so long and just talking about what you do instead of saying how I think of it, while u can just read the description, so... I'm going to actually review it, instead of what everyone else is doing.
Audio=9/10=It has not just a wonderful life, but also a wonderful tune. The music is great, except not the farm tune. The sounds are great. But compared to stuff like God of War, it's not perfect.
Graphics=8/10=The graphics aren't spectacular. But, they're definitely decent. I mean, what do u expect from a Gamecube game???
Gameplay=9/10=Trying 3 Harvest Moon games, this was tied 4 most fun. Definitely, the people were fun, but it was a bit annoying having to feed your cow twice a day, and having 1 min. in the game=a sec. in real life. It's cool at first, but then u start 2 get sick of it and wish for 6-10 minute days. Marriage was awesome!!! (10/10) U would would please them w/ gifts and talk 2 them. It was worth it. It's so awesome getting a little child!
(here's my list of 3 Harvest Moon games in order from most fun to least fun)
1.Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (this game)
1.Harvest Moon 64 (yet it's old, it's very fun even w/ its 5 minute days)
3.Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (close to being a three-way tie and really long time 2 get a girl, which is fun, farming is not very fun)
Overall=9/10=Very fun and very good audio, but didn't have A+ graphics.
Havest Moon Rockz!!!
