I've been playing this game for 2 years single player/multiplayer(LAN as well as BNet) and it still continues to thrill me the way it did when I first ripped it out of its box. Buy this game. Trust me.

Blizzard Inc. is a company that actually sits down with a game in production and does everything they can to make a good game. Starcraft is no different. Instead of the fantasy realm of swords and sorcery in Warcraft, Starcraft is a futuristic game on firearms and science. The story is superb and riveting on three races: the humanoid survivalist Terran, the insectoid feral Zerg, and the technologically psionic Protoss. You are thrust into the world as a commander of either race. The campaign editor lets you actually create your own missions with other players. The multiplayer of Battlenet is great where you can play over the net with even other countries like Korea, Austrailia, and Denmark. There are hardly any cons in the game. Only that it is quite tedious while moving like a squad of 12 marines in tight quarters. Not only is it a war game but there is missions where you have to infiltrate facilities with only a small unit of men. Brood War, an expansion, is also great with the arrival of new units and missions and the continue of the story. The small traits of the game are great also, like the unit portraits, the speech, the music, and the cinemas. If you are a fan of war games, Starcraft should be one of your top priorities in the game.
This is probably the Best Game out right now!

Blizzard, probably the most succesful gaming company out right now, released a game called Star Craft. The game features 3 races, Terran, Protoss, and Zerg, each with their own abilities and units. The reason this game is so FUN to play and to deal with is the complete differences that each race has. In War2 both races were pretty much a like, but in SC & BW, each race is so different that all the time, even for the last 3 years, strategies keep coming up all over the place.
The story line is very well made, could have been a novel or a movie if they had chosen to do so. The movies are, of course, the best. Blizzard is well known for the great quality and enjoyment of their entriguing cinematics.
If you do not already own this game, I incredibly suggest that you go buy it immediately.

This is definatley one of the best Rts games ever. I have been playing it since 1998 and I am still playing. One great feature of this game is the internet play on Bnet that provides a unique gaming expierence wit Use Map Settings maps. I recommend also buying the addon Broodwar which adds a great deal to this already great game!!
Fun but a bit outdated.

This game is extremely long, challenging, and fun... but its a bit old.
The graphics and animation are just plain old ugly.
The 3 races in the game are well balanced and pretty interesting though.
This game might have been great 4 years ago but for now Warcraft 3, also made by Blizzard, is the far superior game.

The product I purchased from this online store is definatly a good choice for a game product. I would have to say it is a tad overpriced for the certain product i bought. the game itself has a tendency to be repetitive and can be even boring at time, still its a good buy. As far as getting a better price I would have to say "good luck" because it is currently a sellers market which means that despite your idea of getting what you wanted technically your getting what they decide and if you don't like it well then they will just take your business elseware. Which really comesw to one conclusion that you get what you can,when you can.

What else can you say...if you liked Warcraft2 you'll LOVE Starcraft and Broodwar. Plus its really fun playing it with your friends on battlenet. I highly recommend it!

So your considering buying Starcraft, aye? Well if you have not heard of this game all I have to say is you poor deprived human being. Any gamer on the face of the Earth knows about this game and what it did to change the way they think about playing games on a computer game. Yes, I have heard it all the people who rally themselves against games such as this. Saying that you do nothing but Build, Build, Build, Build really Fast. Then Fight, Fight, Fight, Kill, Kill, Kill. Well, If you excuse my impertinence, your wrong. This game teaches you how to adapt to the three different species. Zerg, Terran and Protoss. It is like the ultimate in adaptive combat. I have never come up with fighting tactics in any other game, (Except One), Faster than in this game. It is made by blizzard those good people who made Warcraft and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. So find this game. Buy it and enjoy it for the love of all that is good and pure. Enjoy this game. It should be a definite buy and must have and no gamers collection would ever truly be complete without it.

This game... Let's not even call it a game, call it a piece of crap! No, a piece of crap is too good for this game. This game seems fun at first, but gets so irritating! In a real-time RTS, you can select more than 12 units and don't have to worry about food! That's the point of a true RTS, if you want to worry about food, try a simulation. This excuse for a RTS has annoying sounds and sound fx! Every time you select a barracks, it has that annoying song coming up and that ugly robot girl for Terran. Although I don't judge looks that much, that robot girl will even scare a one-eyed cyclops! And when you train a firebat, they say something really lame like, "Heat it up!" Not only do the sound fx suck, but the graphics do too. The nuke looks like a really, badly designed satellite and it's smaller than a siege tank! Nukes are usually designed large, so they can travel farther, but the nuke in Starcraft is designed to travel three inches if you're lucky. The angle of the game is so off also! It's too close up. But about the gameplay... The gameplay is... To be honest, it is really... Sorry, I can't express myself over this game here, as kids may be reading. The storyline is messed up and doesn't make sense if you really think about it, as evolution can not be true and I know a three year old kid that can write a better storyline than Blizzard did for this game. If you want a real time RTS, try C&C or DR2.
