Yes, it is very addicting. It is hard to just spend a few minutes playing this one. It really does require a strategic thinking mind and forces you to think outside the box of the typical first-person shooters. I also play Age of Empires, but this one has a different type of attraction since it is more futuristic. A very good bang for the buck! You will not be disappointed!

Starcraft is amazing. Not only is starcraft considered one of if not the best real time strategy (rts) game of all time, but possibly the national pasttime for Korea. This game is the only rts i have ever played with its possibilities of strategy, style, and adaptability. Starcraft is also the only rts in my perspective who has no single race (faction) who dominates, or has a 'rigged' unit, seen in many other RTS games. Starcraft is simply amazing. I have played this game since 1998, and it never gets old. if you consider yourself a person who likes to have fun, then i wouldnt understand why you wouldnt buy this game.

Starcraft is excellent. Brood War is better, put them together and they are dynamite! Really Starcraft is getting a tad old now, but its a brilliant game even now, it may be out of fashion, but it is really good. With the strategy guides you can get online and play SC or BW right away with confidence, you may even beat me (I have a recond of 214 wins to 7 losses :-) Annyway, if you want a very good RTS game, buy this, you won't be dissapointed, the best thing about this is that with both packs, the story blends seamlessly, and the guides get newbies fighting with competence in no time. The only downsides are that the game is a bit old (but still a classic), and that there are not huge numbers of units, for instance in TA (another game I warmly reccomend), but its simple, its beautiful, and if you avoid money maps, a really excellent way to invest your gamer cash. Just don't play me on battle.net until you have won a few ladder matches. Abyss

Ante todo un juego que logra que usted se siente frente al ordenador y se pase mas de 10 hrs jugando sin descanso, gracias a sus impresionantes gráficos y nivel de entretenimiento. Además es un juego donde cada partida es única y todas las razas estan parejas y tienen posibilidades de lograr la victoria. En nuestra universidad más del 60 % de los estudiantes de informática lo juegan y no duermen casi para utilizar las madrugadas para jugar.

After being disappointed with several of the newer games out (Mideival Total War 2, Neverwinter Nights 2), I re-purchased an old favorite. It's not fancy and the graphics are nothing special, but Starcraft is a solid, fun game. The AI is limited but sometimes I like to set it to "melee" (everyone against me) and see how many computer-players I can fend off. If you're looking for unsophisticated shoot-em-up fun, nothing's better than Starcraft for the price.

I recently bought this product and I must say it was GREAT! I got the demo to this game and I loved it and decided that I must have it. The Starcraft game is about the battle between the Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg for supremacy. The expansion set, Brood War, is a continuation of the story. The included Prima's Strategy guides are very useful in winning the game (especially the cheats in the back ;-) )

This game is so great I spend lot of time in Starcraft both Original and Broodwar all Saturdays I play them these greats games most Broodwar, I'm Sir_Williams, I play alot Use Map Settings because there's a lot of variety of games that you can play in there, Top VS Bottom, Melee, and other ones are great too.

It has lot of awards and with good reasons, this game is not a simple game you can play lot of kind of games even Chess in Use Map Settings.

That's a wonderful game you should test it, there's tournaments by the way, oh men GREAT TOURNAMENTS.

I have nothing more to say, just the best game that I ever know.

This is not that new of a game but it is still good. The oringinal is good but the expansion is much better plus free battle net and for single player the guides are nice

You will come to understand that video games are an artform when you start playing Starcraft. First, you'll find a story which masterfully weaves between 3 different races in grand, interstellar conflict, with a cast of hundreds. This story comes to you in movies, in briefings, and in the game itself, such that you actually play the story, and react against it (or drive it forward). I've played this game from start to finish 4 times now, just to relive the amazing tale.

But Starcraft is a strategy game, and its strategy is so deep you could spend years exploring it (and people -have- been playing this game for years!) The three different races play in different styles. The Zerg "grow" their bases and attack in overwhelming numbers, winning thru overkill. The noble Protoss conjure their buildings out of thin air, and their armies are often small, very tough, and invisible. The Terrans are the happy medium, with a little bit of everything.

Also of note are the wonderful graphics (still potent after 3-4 years), and of course, that biting Blizzard humor, which shows itself in the peculiar comments that your soldiers make. There is so much polish and shine on this game, it's no wonder it was a best seller for years and years.

This package includes the orginal game Starcraft and its rather weak expansion pack, Brood War. All the lavish praise I gave above was for Starcraft, but if you want to save some money, you can probably do without Brood War, as it only includes about 6 new units, which hardly changes the way the game plays. Get it if you starve for the extra story that it provides.
