Very relaxing game and very suitable for children.

Scores points in trying something different, easy controls and underwater visuals are above average for a Wii game.

But if your used to fast paced or M rated games, you may get bored with it quickly.
Definitely not for everyone.

A fun learning experience

Endless Ocean is an entertaining and educational experience that will teach you a lot about the ocean environment and the fish that inhabit it. There is a simple "background story" that provides a basic premise (in which you are a scuba guide, leading and showing others the wonders of a tropical undersea paradise). The "game" aspects are visual and discovery in nature---no competition or points to score. The experience is pleasant throughout, as you control a diver under the water, swimming around rocks and reefs, relating to fish---even feeding and touching them. Pop-up information on various species and access to a marine encyclopedia gives you scientific data to increase your ability to identify and locate various types of fish. With just a little effort, you can become very adept at exploring underwater rocks and caves, maybe even come face to face with a hammerhead shark!

Interesting game

You start out in this game as a novice diver and begin doing dives, accomplishing tasks, and just generally exploring. I originally thought this was some sort of mental relaxation thing but it is actually a real game, although low-key and with nothing to shoot or kill. If this game were on xbox 360 or PS3, you would probably dive with spear guns and laser blasters and your objective would be to hunt giant squid or enemy submarines or something and shoot them or blow them up. As it is, there is zero violence in this game. The closest that the game gets to that is when you are serving as a diving guide and you lose sight of the diver you are escorting. The music becomes slightly ominous and you have to swim around looking for your diver until they're found. While the lack of violence may make this game sound incredibly boring, it is actually interesting and entertaining. There is nothing else quite like this game, although I'm sure it will soon have a lot of imitators. Enjoy.

This game is a great undersea adventure espeically for those of us whom cannot experience the wonders of the ocean in person. My 5 and 10yr old boys love this game. The controls are a bit difficult but once you get past that its a fantastic game!

Almost like the real thing...

I came across this while looking for wii games that we could play as a family (we have a 2 and a 4 yr old) and the Ocean aspect is perfect (as they both love the aquarium and I like snorkeling and diving).

I've played this game more than anyone and I am addicted. As many said, there needs to be some work done on the above water scenes and the people/dialog, but otherwise, its a hit. I love swimming with the Whale Sharks, the sperm whales and the other critters at 500 feet below the surface.

Definitely recommend this game for anyone looking for a good way to unwind after work.

I bought this for my kids as a nonviolent option to available video games. I also homeschool and thought it would be a good educational extra. They love it (I love it)! It is a no pressure game with lots of rewards based on your investigative desire. Graphics are really nice for the Wii. There is alot of reading so if your little person does not read well yet you will have to be there. I would recommend it highly if you are trying to steer away from the violent games.

Pretty Cool

This was one of the first games I got for the Wii. I want to start off by stating I really like this game. I'm forty years old and I thought my 2-year-old would like it. I've stuck with it and it's been a lot of fun. Below the water the graphics are really good. All the wildlife behave very naturally, though occasionally (rarely) pass through one another. Above the water its pretty bad. People move around like very early CGI and all the dialogue has to be read. Some voice-over would've been better, it's not like there's a lot of it. There's a plot involving the discovery of a new species of whale but that doesn't even appear until the game is very nearly finished. The items you find in the water don't really seem to lead anywhere. You discover slabs of rock with ancient glyphs on them but never find out what it means, who these people were, or what happened to them. The sunken ship and downed aircraft were neat to see but I want to know their story, too. The game tapped into my desire to explore "strange new worlds" but left me wanting more. Its just such a letdown when I've reached the edge of the map, can see a vast swathe of ocean in front of me, and can't go any further. Even if the map was spherical and it just started at the other end would be acceptable.
All things aside, I still loved this game and whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone tired of the same old thing or with children. You cannot die in this game and nothing gets eaten. I look forward to a sequel. I think a completely fictional underwater world would be really, really neat. The similarly-themed dinosaur one is just horrible, looks like a high-school computer project.

Very Fun!

When I bought this, I wanted a game that took me away from the fast-paced fighting environment of other games. This did just that. It was great fun when I found new fish, especially ones that are big. (AKA Whales) I would completely recommend this game to others! The controls are easy, in the general style of the Wii, and the graphics are amazing. If you have a large screen or plasma TV, you have to get this just so you can see what it can do! The title describes this game exactly. It is an Endless Ocean. The small missions that you get are great, too, because you don't always have to do them! Everything is completely optional. You could spend the entire game simply exploring the amazing ocean that this game places you in. Also, I know that I learned something from all of the various fish in this game, and that is definitely something that I could possibly use later in life. (Aspiring Biologist)

FUN IN THE OCEAN!

I loved this game but if you are a big gamer you will not like this game. I love that you get a underwater camera to take pictures with and save. That just maybe because I do photography for a hobby. I love how you can take your time, enjoy the ocean, learn about the different ocean life. There are task you have to do to to get new items. My goal is the find all the sea creatures in the game. I recommend this game to any one who loves the ocean and wanted to learn more.

Like Opera

That's my take on this game. Like Opera, you are either gonna love it or hate it. It's relaxing and enjoyable as well as educational. Sure there are some things about it that may seem silly, like petting everything you see to learn about it, and yeah the plot isn't exactly The Matrix (FIRST one), but all in all, this game is a gem because it isn't Grand Theft Auto, Assassins' Creed or HALO. What I mean is, it's a unique game in every sense of the word, and if someone is in the mood to cue up something that's pretty original and interesting, as well as peaceful and fun, this is the game for you.
