For Wii, Beautiful and Peaceful...But not Action

Of the 8 or so Wii games I have, this is probably my favorite for graphics...which says quite a bit since Wii definitely has the worst graphics of the platforms. The dialogue and general storyplay of this game does lead a lot or a bit (respectively) to be desired, it still was fun to play.
This is also not a game for someone who has a short attention span. It does require you to search around for different fish, animals, or items. If you don't have the patience, then you might want to pass this game up.

It's addicting!

I kept avoiding renting this game when my kids wanted to because it sounded boring, like watching a fireplace on TV, but finally gave in. Wow! I'm glad I did! It's alot more than just sight-seeing. It's a treasure hunt, dolphin training, and much more! And yes, very addicting (I found I had passed 3hrs of time playing while my kids slept Saturday morning!)

The only bad points: The people are a bit wooden (WHY don't Wii people TALK instead of having to read the text?! and who cares about 'earning' a new hairstyle?!), and the fact that if you don't save your progress you have to start over/go through all the training exercises, even if you know how to do things (having watching another play)

Definitely one of those "fun for all ages" and very informative (IF you can get your kids to stop and actually read all the information on the various fish!)

I purchased this game for our son who is 7 and loves animals and fish, to be honest the 1st time we played it we were a liltle worried....but as time went on we found our way. Our son loves it, and gets a kick when he can check his book to see what new animals he had found. The best part is when you get to train your diving partner. It has become a contest to see who can fill their book up the first. High recommended : )

Peaceful, but a little bored

Everyone else said the same thing. It's a little bored. But if you are tired and just want to relax, this is a good choice.

Beautiful Graphics and Very Educational

I bought this game for my 6-year-old son, who loves anything to do with the ocean. I fell in love with the game myself and would play with it for hours just to uncover more species. The graphics are beautifully done and most creatures appear to be very real. Love the night-diving feature. I believe my son has learned a lot more about marine life through this game. And I can name more fish the next time we go snorkling!

Fun, gets a little repetitive

After seeing several reviews of Endless Ocean, I went out and bought the game. At first, the game sucks you in with beautifully created underwater environments, with lots of coral eye-candy and lots of fish to make friends with. You use your wiimote to pet them, and then you get some information on the fish. However, you can only go a certain distance away from your boat, which is indicated by a circle on your map screen. This gets tedious when you have to return to your boat to keep exploring further and further away.

The music in the game is relaxing, although there are only several tracks you start with. I recommend using your SD card (If you have one)
and putting some MP3's on it so you have a larger music selection.

After playing the game for several hours, I got kind of bored with it. There are really no real challenges or goals in the game, you just pop in the game and then *bam* you're free to go wherever you want, do pretty much whatever you want. So, after I played the game for several hours, I got bored and sold it for a 5$ loss. Not too bad.

In conclusion, this game is pretty fun, it has good graphics and it is absolutely beautiful underwater, you will wish that you were there. I would recommend it for younger players, and watch some videos and look at more reviews before you buy the game, to make sure that it is something that you would want to play. don't waste 30 bucks on it. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!

A++ Game!

I bought this game for myself because my 12 y/o son said it would be boring and had no action or violence to hold his attention. Yikes! Well, several minutes into the game my son took over and I didn't have a chance to play till severval days later. It is amazingly calming, soothing, EDUCATIONAL and yes, ENTERTAINING without violence. A truely refreshing experience. Our entire family LOVES IT! You won't be sorry...unless your a total freakazoid.

I bought it , because of the positive reviews. For a little kid it might be fun to feed the fish , to "walk" with the fish ad things like that. I wish I had a harpoon...the graphics are simply AWFUL . As I said, if you have a 5 y. old kid , it might work , but for an adult IT SO BORING , you will fall asleep and have nightmares about the money wasted.

Just Fun

I am 32 years old and I love this game. The graphics are amazing - completely beautiful. It's probably not something I would buy for my 5 year old because to actually get anywhere in the game, you need to successfully complete goals that a young child wouldn't have the patience for. Being an adult, the challenges are not difficult but, in most cases, what completing the challenge unlocks is so worth it. When I found the manatees I was literally smiling from ear to ear. There are some silly "rewards" that you get after completing a challenge like a new hairstyle (who cares?) but for the most part, you get to unlock new areas, get certified to cave dive or get new equipment. I am completely addicted to finding objects hidden in the sand or reefs. Finding the pieces to a shattered piece of a compass gave me an unexpected surprise in opening up the pirate ship and being taken to the underwater graveyard.

This game is very beautiful and very, very relaxing. To give you an example of how relaxing it is, I actually dozed off playing it one day. This may not sound like a good endorsement for the game but when I come home from a stressful day at work and am all fired up, this game calms me down. I can play it for hours - literally. I love it. It is my absolute favorite game on the Wii and it's really going to be tough to beat.
