This game is fun for experts and beginners alike. Beginners figure out a few of the characters are ideal for button mashing (ie. Maxi) while experts will have super combo characters (ie. Maxi =P and Kilk, and the samari guy =) The game runs seamlessly, I never once found a graphic defect. For those who haven't heared about the game, it is a 3D fighter, with the addition of an excelent, and easy to learn fencing system. Well, I think I've been rambling long enough. A must buy!

This game is awesome. I love it and not not really a big fighting game freak. Is there a way to play as the final bad guy (Inferno?)?

It has more weapons than what the Shaolin monks seen, it has more kicks and punches that Bruce Lee knows and it has more stunts than Jackie Chan cares.
This game has action, fun and great replay value. To outdo itself, Soul Calibre 2 will have to include cinematic cut scenes, tag battle mode and multi-level arenas...
Go get it!

I'm not really what you would call a gamer. In fact, 99.9% of all video games I've ever seen or played bore me to tears.Duke Nuke 'em, Resident evil, Mortal Kombat.....all of 'em put me to sleep.I just don't get it.But this game....this game rocks.I got in to soul blade first....I thought nothing could be cooler than that, but happily the good people at namco proved me wrong with soul calibur.I have some concerns about the realistic violence for impressionable younger children.....but for myself the vicarious thrill of being a medieval samurai on a quest for the ultimate weapon (or whatever), with liscence to brutally exterminate anyone who gives me any lip....oh, baby.you can't beat that.Or the cool, trash talking one liners.
As Mitsurugi says, "You'll be in hell before me!"
Later.

This is the best fighting game for Dreamcast. Twenty times better than Dead or Alive. Dead or Alive might have better graphics, but this game is much more fun. Each character has a weapon and a different style of fighting than the others. Some characters have similar styles of fighting, but each character is unique. This game has great one player matches and modes such as arcade mode (a thousand times better than the Soul Calibur arcade system), survival, time attack, and mission battle (a mode where you fight enemies with a special challenge in each course to earn points). After earning points in mission battle, you can buy pictures of characters in the art gallery and open up new outfits and new courses. You can also open up new modes such as extra survival. Every time you beat the arcade version, you earn extra characters to fight with. You won't stop playing this game until you finish it and earn all the extras.
The multi player mode is probably the most fun... you could play it with your friends for hours and hours. Most of the characters are good and you will probably learn most of their moves, and use all the characters, not just your favorite one.

I'm only 10 years old and this game is cool. I'm going to try to play this game with my friends. The game controls are good and one character can have over 100 moves. I am going to talk my friends into buying this game.

This has to be one the best games on the Dreamcast, if not the best. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay lasts. With the addition of the mission mode this game will last for quite some time. Very challenging. I still haven't completed all the missions and I got the game for Christmas. Buy this game and you won't be disappointed!

Before Soul Calibur I never even liked fighting games (except Ready2Rumble). The graphics are stunning! The game play is excellent! The creators of this game paid attention to every detail and it pays off in arguably the best video game ever! If you have a Dreamcast, you need this game!
