The best 3D fighting game ever?

Namco has set a new standard of graphics and gameplay for the fighting game genre with Soul Calibur. This game surpasses every 3D fighting game in a number of categories. Fresh characters, responsive and balanced gameplay, incredible graphics, jaw dropping animation, lots of replay value, and even great music can be found in Soul Calibur. Not only is this a perfect arcade conversion, it actually has even better and more polished graphics than the arcade game. If you have a Dreamcast and are a fan of fighting games, your collection is not complete without Soul Calibur. Play it for yourself and find out why. Hopefully Namco will take their time with the sequel, because it's going to take alot of effort to make a fighting game better than this.
A great game

This is one of my favorite games ever. First, the gameplay, although seemingly counterintuitive at times, allows for a player to have an awful lot of fun for a long period of time-- it lets you have a good time to begin with but gets harder as you get better. The graphics and music are both stunning. And although it's not quite as fun an ending as it could be, and the premise of the 'art cards' I don't like a bit, on a whole, this game is as impressive as they come.
I highly recommend buying it....

I just got dreamcast, and let me tell you, this game has great graphics like I've never seen before! Once you win a fight, you watch them talk! But, to make it a top-of-the-line experience, you will need a VMU with a lot of space on it to get all the awesome characters. My favorite is Mitsurugi, but fight to win others like Hwang, Rock, and Siegfried. I give this game top ratings! A two-thumbs up!
A MUST BUY

If you get a Dreamcast game, get this first! There is not one flaw in this game. The graphics, the sound, the replay value, control...EVERTHING is just PERFECT! I read the great reviews, and i thought, "Is this really worth my cash?" I sure was! This is the best fighting game EVER! And possibly one of the top 5 games EVER. It's also pretty cheap. Take my advice, go out and buy this game!

How can you own a Dreamcast and not own this game? This game has practically everything: Great graphics, excellent controlling, replay value (Thanks to the Mission Mode and Team Battle), and for once in a video game, the voices aren't bad, the music is great, too. (I recommend "The Cursed Soul"). The characters in this video game are so cool, and you have yet to discover more! However, "Soul Calibur" may have tough competition with the upcoming "Dead or Alive 2."
The Must Have Game For The Dreamcast...

This game is the best fighter ever and quite possible the best game on the dreamcast to date. With perfect graphics and so many extras you will have a great deal of single player gaming to train up for some seriously great multiplayer action. It would be a 5 but the AI is seriously flawed. This gives some people the impressioon that the games is just a button masher when it is actually more complicated when playing a human opponent.
Best Fighting game ever.

This is THE best fighting game to date. Dead or Alive 2's fighting engine is nothing compared to Soul Calibur. The graphics are amazing. They may not be as great as DOA2's but they are mighty close! This game has lots of replay value. After beating the game on normal mode I erased all my saved data and started from scratch on very hard. It is really challenging, let me tell you! I recommend this game to anyone who likes fighting games! This game is the best thing the DC has. Now if only Shenmue would hurry up and come out...

Having just put in three days hard time with the import version, I can honestly say that no one has seen a game this impressive on any home system (or arcade for that matter.) The control is spotless and the to call the graphics jaw dropping is to insult them. Soul Calibur has very deep one player mode with hidden characters and items to unlock (read as lots and lots of stuff to do to keep the single player game from getting old.) Furthermore, the quality of the two player game is unmatched in any other dreamcast title except for NFL 2K. If you even like fighting games a little, you owe it to yourself to give this title a try.
