If you own a Dreamcast and don't own Soul Calibur, you must be sleeping a lot. This is the perfect fighting game. Relatively easy to learn, but very difficult to master. This is one of the best party games you can find. My friends and I did 100 straight rounds before Thanksgiving dinner and pulled out another 140 afterwards. I suggest unlocking as many secret characters as you can and playing random characters. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, and the control is awesome. The legend will never die! THE must have of 1999!

I was told by my friend in a computer store that I had to get this game if I could only afford one at release. I took his advice and I could not be happier. The misson mode is long and very entertaining by making you meet the criteria of beating the battle. There is also the arcade mode that makes you feel like you have to beat it with each character. This is not easy, but everyone can do it. Even though two-player is like most games, I found myself have played 41 times in a row with my neighbor and neither of us were bored. All the characters and costumes makes it that fun. If you have a Dreamcast, you have to buy this game.

This is the most entertaining and visually appealing game I have ever played. The graphics are amazing! The characters and scenery are depicted in incredible detail. It's also fast and almost impossible to quit playing.

If you don't like video games, buy this game. If you like video games, buy this game. If you like fighting games, buy this game. If you hate fighting games, buy this game. Get my drift, you want this game. The graphics and sound go beyond just being mere eye and ear candy. This is in my opinion the second greatest game ever made. Just seeing their hair and clothes move n'sync to the wind totally blows me away every time. This game will give you one million hours worth of game time. PROMISE!

GREAT!

When you first turn on this game, what immediately pops into your head is the graphics. They are simply amazing. From Mitsurigi's baggy clothes or sophita's hair blowing in the wind every movement and detail is fine tuned to perfection. But there is a lot to this game beyond graphics, There is an amazing amount of characters and levels to unlock besides the pre-selectable ones. The replay value of this game is AMAZING. It seems as though there is always something new to unlock. This games soundtrack is perfectly fitted to this genre, from soothing melodies, to blood pumping suspensefull orchestratic masterpeices. This game is Namco's shining star in the dreamcast lineup. This epic game is by far the best ever, and is a must-have for any Dreamcast Owner.

Now, I will have to say, I personally dislike fighting games. But I saw some good reviews for Soul Calibur, so I got it. To date, it has the best graphics for any game out on the Dreamcast. Gameplay is terrific, and adjustable difficulty makes it suitable for any from novices to hardcore fighting fanatics. Many different modes add variety usually lacking in fighting games. And the many secrets and hidden areas keep you coming back.

one of the top five games ever

soul calibur is nearly perfect in every area; graphics, sound, story, gameplay, whatever else. the arcade mode alone kept me busy for at least 10 hours (playing on different difficulties and trying to better my times). the mission mode is also very challenging and rewarding, another 10+ hours. and of course playing this game with other people is detrimental to your health, we have literally stayed up all night playing it. buy this.

I have been a fan of fighters for some time now, old and new and one seems to stand out. Soul Calibur is the fastest, strongest, and most entertaining of all. It's got everything a fighter should have with no hang ups at all. A large selection of characters (loads of unlockable ones as well), Number of stunning arenas, and multiple modes of game play that will never get boring. I reccomend this title to any gamer no matter what you like. Can't go wrong. The best fighter to date, Weapons down.
