Okay,i first picked this up and thought it wasnt to great. But i played more into and found out more about the world of Vvardenfall.Okay like any other RPG you create your character, but what Morrowind has different is
A) The World is more massive than any other game
B) There is something for everyone.Like say you wanna be an assasin, then join the Morag Tong,or you wanna be a theif then join the thieves guild.
c)Theres soo much to collect and to explore it will leave you speechless
Pros:
Big Map
Lotta Stuff to Collect
Lotta stuff to do in general
Lots to explore
Different Weapons to use so you can be the master archer,or marksman
Different species to choose from when making your character
Cons:
Graphics arent modern day Xbox, you must keep in mind that the game is from 2001.
Freezes frequently
FIle corruption occurs every once in awhile
No Voice Overs
Once somebody is killed, they never come back
Chump Of The Year- Over-Hyped RPG

Morrowind for the Xbox is a role-playing game (RPG)where you can play it from a first person perspective or third-person. I truly hate this game, but first let me tell you the good points. The graphics are really good, complimented with excellent music. The worlds you travel on are HUGE and expansive, there are so many places to explore. There are tons of items you can aquire, or purchase, I mean tons! Morrowind also does a good job of showing a rich detailed history with lots of non-player characters (NPCs) you will interact with. But the fun ends right there because everything else about this game is garbage! It will clock your Xbox system to the max, you'll hear constant access to the hard drive and cd-drive, the game's performance is horrible; with lots of slow-down and severe drop in framerate. Loading a level takes FOREVER, it has the longest loading time of any Xbox game out there! There is little character speech, so you should expect to do a lot of reading inside the game- lots and lots! PSONE games have way more speech than this! There are tons of useless items you can collect! Just grabbing items is a chore because you have to aim your crosshairs with pin-point accuracy (its a pain just to grab plants or flowers) The animation is like an old Nintendo game! The game controls are sluggish like the framerate! The sound effects are cheap and sparse! The NPCs stand around like fools doing nothing! The NPCs are always rude and annoying "What do you want?" "Stop bothering me". They will act nice to you only if you give them money (they're all a bunch of gold diggers!). Your character will get stuck to objects! There are clipping problems as well with the graphics! The combat is boring and stupid as heck! You hit once, they you once and on it goes! The weapons lack power and impact. I stand by my reviews and I don't care what other Morrowind fans say about it.

This game are for very series gamers or gamers that just love RPGs. With the orginal of you fulfilling the nereverine prophecies you now get additional two stories to you being nerrevine.
Tribunal is probelly better than the Bloodmoon quests souly on the purpose that at the end of the quests when you go to kill Sotha Sil , alittle surprise comes with Alamexia and Tribunal fits more around the nerevaine then the Bloodmoon quests to me I can't wait untill Oblivion comes out.
Near perfect RPG/Adventure game!

The first time I saw morrowind was at my friends house, on his Xbox. I watched him play it and I thought it was cool, but it seemed so booring and loong. But he always insisted it was his best game (and he is very picky about games) so I gave it a try and bought Morrowind GoTY edition for my recently bought Xbox system. First off, character creation. You pick what race you are, and your face and hair. But there is not very many faces or hairs on each race to choose from however. You can also be a Female if you wish. Next you choose your class. You can answer a series of 10 questions and he will choose your class based on what you answered, or you can pick your class from a list or create your own which is very nice. I answered the questions and turned out to be a Witchunter..riight. So I went with it. Finnally I get to the gameplay. Right away I notice the graphics are pleasing and the music is soothing and doesnt ever get old. I ran over to some town I had to deliver a package to, and looked for this guys house. (By the way you dont have to do ANY quests if you dont want to, you can do whatever the heck you want to!) So I was exploring this shack and I find some things on the shelf. I pick em up thinking of selling them and I get owned by a mob of guards and the owner. (no pain no gain heh) so I learned the hard way that the computers are NOT stupid. Anyways I had to load back to my last saved game which was waay back. you must remember to save every once in a while or before you test something out or you have to wait through a LONG (and this is pretty long) loading screen. Im talking in the minutes. But the game is worth the wait. I found reletivly few bugs and no glitches so far, and time seems to fly by when you play this game. It was definetly a good buy, and if you even like RPGs a tiny bit you should buy this game. Its only 30 bucks but I would pay 80 for it now that ive played it. It is truly a good buy. The combat is intense and you can interact with almost everything in your environment. Speaking of the environment it is IMMENSE and you can go WHEREVER you want to, unlike some RPGs ive played you can only go where the trail is and cannot wander off or anything because you get blocked by an invisible wall. none of that nonsense in this game.
OVERALL= this game is a must buy for any RPG fan that owns an XBOX system. If you know a loved one that is into RPGs GET HIM THIS game and he will love you for a loong time. but dont expect to see him any time soon after he opens it ;) the only downside of this game truly is the loading time, otherwise its perfect. I give it a 4.5/5.

Why can't game developer's get it into their heads that we appreciate content and open ended-ness. The most popular titles are ALWAYS the games that allow the player to be creative, rather then just responding to obvious plot and crude visual cues. Morrowind really allows players to involve themselves in the game with a lot more freedom of action than any other I've played. Steal someone's big house, lay out your favorite weapons, grab your lute, and a jug of mazte, maybe some moon rock and chill until you decide to master a continent that will take you MONTHS to explore... literally!
(the problem is that all the guys that were playing Dungeons and Dragons in the eighties got jobs writing code, instead of game design.)
Great game, low price but better on the computer

This is a great game to buy. It allows an almost unlimited amount of freedom in a fantasy world. When you begin the game you get to pick from 10 different races and are offered 21 different classes. Add to that the ability to become either a Vampire of a Werewolf later in the game. There are hundreds of quests and you can do them whenever you want. You don't even have to do the main quest if you don't want to and can wait as long as you want to do it if you decide to. If you like nonrestrictive RPGs then this is the game for you.
Now onto the bad aspects:
If you have a computer that can run the computer version buy the computer version. I have seen both, and while I cannot play the computer version due to a lack of a capable computer I have played it on a computer 1 1/2 years old (my friend's). And it runs so much better. Prepare yourself for a lot of loading time on the Xbox and the loading time only increases as the game goes on (probably the game having to keep track of all the NPCs and quests and items). The biggest loading time is when you first load your character or if you load a save after you die, sometimes I read while I wait for it to load. Also the computer Morrowind allows you to download Mods, something that can make the game even more enjoyable, or create your own. On the Xbox you are stuck with whatever errors shipped (one time all the houses vanished in the game, no kidding. I shut it off and went to bed and they were back the next day, but still, a little weird). Also the characters just look better on the computer. Actually people are pretty ugly on the xbox and without mods you're stuck with a limited amount of faces ect. to select in the beginning. Also if you lose an important quest item or kill the wrong character you can fix it on the computer with the construction set, on the xbox you're just screwed (happened to me once).
That all being said this is still an awsome game, and if you don't have a good computer then buy the xbox one. For all its faults it is still worth the loading time and other problems. If you do buy it for computer be careful, check your system, Morrowind is very picky about what video card it needs to run.

An epic, open-ended single-player RPG, Morrowind allows you to create and play any kind of character imaginable. You can choose to follow the main storyline and find the source of the evil blight that plagues the land, or set off on your own to explore strange locations and develop your character based on their actions throughout the game. Featuring stunning 3D graphics, open-ended gameplay, and an incredible level of detail and interactivity, Morrowind offers a gameplay experience like no other.
In Tribunal, you journey to the capital city of Morrowind, called Mournhold, to meet the other two god-kings of Morrowind, Almalexia and Sotha Sil. Your journey will lead you to the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil and massive, epic-sized dungeons, where strange and deadly creatures await you, including goblins, lich lords, and the mysterious Fabricants.
Bloodmoon takes you to the frozen Island of Solstheim where you'll experience snow, blizzards, and new creatures, including frost trolls, ice minions, and wolves...just to name a few. You'll have a choice of stories to follow and have the opportunity to defend the colony, take control over how the colony is built up, and eliminate the werewolves. Or, you can decide to join the werewolves and become one of them, opening up a whole new style of gameplay.
"This solution allows us to cater to those who already own Morrowind for Xbox and want new quests, new areas to explore...new things to do and see," said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "At the same time, if you've never played Morrowind you have the opportunity to fully experience the original game as well as a wealth of new things to see and do...all in one box."
there you go the best game in the world

This game is amazing! First off, the GOTY edition offers tons of new weapons, armor, quests, and characters. Unfortunatley the GOTY edition also offers HUGE loading times and it locks up alot (for me at least). The ammount of stuff to do in the game is rediculous. You can kill, steal or talk to anyone and anything you want. That alone could be the game. But theres aklso quests (which dont have to be done) to add to the enjoyment. Its a very open ended game with tons of hours of gameplay. Best RPG out there... that is until Fable is realeased.

I wasn't sure I would like Morrowind at first. I have to say Im not a huge fan of RPGs. The final fantasy series and other "traditional" RPG games really turned me off of the genre. Morrowind however, showcases everything positive about the concepts of RPG gameplay in a game that I was truly impressed with.
First Graphics. Morrowind is played from a first person perspecitve, but a 3rd person view is also available at any time with a simple click of the right thumb stick. The glorious 3d engine does an amazing job of rendering a gorgeous environment. The water effects in particular are breath-taking. Weather effects too are just incredible. The visual aspect of the game blows any other RPG game out of the water.
Sound too is well done. The effects of thunder really shakes the room, and the opening theme music really sounds epic and gets you in the mood for adventure. Voice work isnt bad either, but some sound effects could have used some extra detail and variety - more musical variety for example, and battle sound effects are somewhat generic.
Gameplay however is paramount in this game. Morrowind is a HUGE and expansive game, you play a character which you create yourself in a province called morrowind of the "great empire". When you begin you can choose between a whole bunch of races, and classes, as well as choosing your look, sex, name and birthsign. This allows for limitless variety in gameplay experience and replayabillity. Playing the game as a Nord Warrior born under the warrior sign will be VERY different from playing as an orcish mage.
The character custimization is just one example of how detailed and complex this game can be. Character stats cover everything from basic attributes such as your strength and agillity ratings, to skills such as marksmanship or blocking. You improve your stats by playing the game and actually DOING things. Using a skill will eventually cause your proficiency in it to increase. So if you want to get good at picking locks, go out there and pick locks! This is SO logical and works well in the game.
Beyond the concept of practice makes perfect, I must emphasize that this game is completely open ended and free roaming. You play the game the way YOU want to play it. You can be good or bad, have people like you or hate you. Join one guild or a bunch. Be a theif and sneak around pick-pocketing people or a warrior taking what you want by force. You go where you want to go whenever you want to go, and do whatever you want to do. The game never tries to restrict your actions, and will even let you make bad choices. The plot is deep and involved, but there are many side plots and side quests all richly detailed and fun. This game takes a serious investment of time as well, and be prepared for several novels worth of text to read. Books found throughout the game add to the background story, you can get as deep into the game world as you want.
Above all, I dont think I've ever played a game as detailed, and open-ended as this one. Literally hundreds of hours of gameplay are possible, and a huge world to explore. You're given an entire island (plus 2 other areas in the exapnsions) to explore... and you're completel free to walk from one end to the other... although it would take you a long time!
The only downside to the game is that it's so big and so open-ended that some people may be overwhelmed or not know "what to do next" as the game is non-linear in nature. The game also takes a lot of time, and you need to "get into it" in order to really enjoy it. If you love games that give you freedom of action or that have rich detailed plots or huge worlds to explore, then check out morrowind, you'll thank me later. If you arent the kind of gamer that apreciates attention to detail or story elements, then try it before you buy it.

I was wondering, since Xbox live launched, if Microsoft's console would get an MMORPG. Then, I picked up a copy of Morrowind, spent about 200 hours playing this open-ended RPG, and realized that the xbox didn't need an MMORPG.
As far as gameplay goes, this game takes on a FPS approach. Leveling up depends on how often you use the skills you have alloted. Not only that, you don't have to learn spells, you can buy them in different shops around the game world.
The world of Morrowind is standard RPG fare, filled with elves, dwarves, sprites of all kinds and is all emcompassing. Basically, folks, if it's in any sort of RPG, you'll see it in Morrowind.
Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind is one game I'd suggest to anyone who loves RPG's, open-ended gameplay, and is willing to give up most of their life to a game. Believe me, I speak from experience.
