I purchased this game for my Granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. While I have purchased many used items I was really surprised at the great condition of this game. I definately would purchase used items again. Thanks

Just ok

I'd recommend some of their newer releases of The Sims for the PS2.. this is definitely a grind in comparison... a step up in graphics from The Sims 1 on the PC, but their following releases on the PS2 are funner with an edge of humor (The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Pets, The Urbz...). Seems unfinished in general. Lack of 'style' (very plain clothes and objects to choose from). The sims are very robotic in movement. After a while of playing their 'Get a Life' mode, I found myself just trying to get the houses over with. More of a pain than fun. Not enough depth.

My kids luv it! I hate listening to it! = )

The kids love the game, and even I get somewhat addicted to it when they want me to help them out with something. I hate the noises the people make, it gets into your head...lol = )

Very Nice; Of course not the best in the world.

I've had this game for a couple of years now, and so I have played this game a lot. I had a little trouble with picking a star rating for how fun it is, because I would give it 5 stars, But since a lot of gamers prefer fighting or shooting games, I gave it 4.
I'll tell you about the three basic modes to play in this game:
(Get a Life, Play The Sims, Bonus)

1. GET A LIFE.

In get a life you can create a character and begin to play in a series of levels. It's sort of like an expansion pack, I suppose; because it's just like the original sim games except you'll be moving in with roomates, throwing parties and completing goals, and living in an already built neighborhood. Start by living under your nagging mom (Your an adult and have not moved out yet) and once you complete your goals you can move into a better house up the street. Move in with others, throw parties, make money, and at the end of the game you supposively retire with two kids in Prep school, married, and a bunch of money.
Also, in this version of The Sims, you need to unlock some of the objects in Get a life mode so you can use them in Play The Sims.

2. PLAY THE SIMS.

If you've played the original version of The Sims for the PC, then you'll find that this mode of the game is quite similar. Some of the original families are already moved into the neighborhood. Only differences is that you have more options to choose from, you cannot build on a second story house, the cursor is also harder to use at first.

3. BONUS

For this mode you can play two- player. You can unlock these by playing get a life mode. You select characters, then usually where ever you go (Museum, night club, ect) You usually try to make freinds or money.

ok

This game works correctly, I think. But I had trouble getting out of the first room, it doesn't really tell you what to do either..so I am kinda stuck in one room of the house.the very first level....I haven't touched the game in months, when I purchased it.
It hasn't spiked my interest enough to go back to try to figure it out yet.

Great port, but obviously not as good as the PC original, lol.

The Sims was a great port of an iconic PC game, its one of the most challenging games I`ve ever played on PS2.
The Sims is an RPG/simulation game that has the player being in control of virtual people and how they live.
There are two parts of the game,"The Sims" and "Get A Life",the GAL bit has you create an adult sim and bring him/her up through the ranks of life from living at moms house as a low-life and don`t even know how to cook, until you are with a family of your own and have an expensive mansion and promoted the the best aspect of your job,in GAL for each "rank" you have different goals, you must complete all the goals of each level to move on higher.
"The Sims" bit is the bit where you can create your own family of sims, buld your own housing, get the adult sims jobs and use cheats, this is basically the game that you can just have fun in.
You can purchase,or cheat, press L2+L1+R1+R2 simultaniously in the main menu to bring up the cheats secton, then write in FREEALL using the letters they provide,it only works in "The Sims" not Get A Life, this cheat provides allows you to get anything you want for free, but with the exception of buying food, pizza and paying bills, but dats easy, just get a job, work 3 days in a shift then allow the boss to fire you and you should have no problem buying these things, except the bills, just avoid the bills as the billman just comes and takes something liek your TV,but you can just get another one for free,so screw them.

You have something like six guages to show your sims feelings, there is:

Hunger:Shows how fed your sim is,if it is low The Sim will be very bad mood and will start automatically cooking for them selves, even if they can`t cook.Easy to rid your sim of hunger just cook, grab something from da fridge or order pizza.

Social:Your sim will feel lonely if he/she doesn`t talk to someone, either talk to other members of the family or answer teh door to neighbours, throw a party or invite someone, careful tgough you shouldn`t ring them late at night as they will just be p`d off at you.

Hygene:
Your sims are clean things, but they are very keen on their hygene, ignore this and people will avoid them and they will start sniffing their armpits to find they stink. After eating pizza its a good idea to go wash your sims hands, and take a wash often, whether a quick spray in the shower or a nice relaxing bath, the sim will get cleaner.

Fun:
The Sims get bored easily,if you neglect this the sims will start being moody to other people, this is easy to fill in,just watch TV,play computer games, play pool or for the adult sims, get a few friends to join you in the hot tub, this will fill in both fun and social guages.

Energy:
Your sims need to sleep at night,or you can just have them high on caffine,or when need to pass time, take a nap on the sofa next to the book shelves.

well this game was great and worth a buuy, seeya thangs 4 reeding!

A Fun Mental Challenge

This is actually the first "simulation" type game that I have played and, overall, I enjoyed the experience. The controls and different style of gameplay did take some getting used to. But eventually I figured out how to play effectively and had fun with it. I almost always finish games to completion. But in the "Get A Life" mode I found myself stuck at the "Party Animals" level, unable to find someone willing to be my new roommate. In the "Play The Sims" mode I made it up to counterfeiter in the career path. But couldn't get past there, as I needed 5 friends and my neighborhood had only four people I was able to call or invite. Any hints on how to get further would be appreciated.

This game is very much about mental challenges more than fast paced action and will certainly not be everyone's idea of a fun gaming experience. But, for me, it was an enjoyable change of pace from the action/adventure types of games I usually play. Recommended.

One of the best games ever. I loved this game and i've beaten it a million times.(Not that it is easy) It is an addictive game that you can play all the time and never get bored. The graphics aren't the best, but the game makes up for it by being so fun.The Neighborhood mode is great, too. You could play with 4 people.(if you swich off controllers) A standard for all Sims games. It is also a very simple and fun game and pretty realistic. I loved this game and recomend to buy it and play over and over again. Fantastic!!!

I HAVENT GOTTERN THIS GAME YET BUT

2. Can you have as many houses in each neighborhoods as you want?
3. Can you actually customize your sims? Morph them, change eye size, etc.
