The Sims is known by the masses, and after a long life on the PC, EA decided to bring this game to the console market. Everything you like about The Sims is here and an additional mode of play called "Get a Life". Get a Life is, in essence, the storyline of The Sims, you start out living with your Mother and move through life, eventually getting married, having children, and sending your kids to college.
Graphically, The Sims shines. The entire game is 3D now, giving the game a fresh look. The game converts well to a Dual Shock 2 controller, allowing precise control of your Sim's daily life. The Sims mantains it's charm through and through. Sound is nice, although I really miss being able to put my own music on the game.
However, The Sims will never be as successful as it's PC counterpart. Few people will have the patience to deal with this game, it's simply too much. The story mode is a nice change, but it can be overwhelming in the later stages. Also, part of the charm of PC Sims is that you know in a few months, you'll have a new expansion. Without the outlook of that, The Sims will soon find a everlasting home sitting next to other abandoned games.

I've always liked this game... I first had it for the computer. That's where I'd recommend you keep it too. This game is very addicting, but you can only go so far. It's too bad upgrades aren't available to download onto a PS2 game...
This game is a good buy

This game is really fun. I got it a while ago, bu tit needed quitea bit of space on my memory card. So be prepared with a new one or to delete other games. Also beware it is a blue bottom disk. And will get ruined easily on your ps2. So, if you are absolutely positive ur ps2 dos not kill these disks. Id BUY, BUy, BUY!
OMG YOU HAVE TO GET THIS GAME!!!!

This game is for people with no real lives. All you do is simulate some guy's life. You have to sleep, eat, and perform menial tasks, and hardly ever does something interesting happen. The mom at the beginning is annoying, and it only gets worse from there. The only reason I can see for playing this game is if you're so addicted to the video game console that you can't tear yourself away to life a dull and boring life outside of a video game.
Impressive...

Okay, okay. I know what some of you are thinking. The Sims on a console. It will be a cold day down under before I buy this game. Well, think again. I thought that too. But it was an awesome game! Not only was it the 3-D graphics that made this new epic adventure an outstanding experience. Now we you have the option to have a two player mode. It's a little wacky, but hey, They are trying their best to meet our needs. In my book, this is the top game of the century. It's a fun, non-stopping adventure for you and everyone. Believe me, you will not be wasting your time or money by buying this 5 star game. I hope the creators continue to come out with more and more fantastic SIMS!
very fun and addicting

This game is very addicting. The 3D graphics add more
life to the game than the 2D PC version. I had a lot of fun
playing the two player mode, and the one player get-a-life
is a blast. The only flaw that I've noticed is the minor framerate issues. I would recommend this game even if you
have the PC version.
This is just like the computer game, but better

in this game you can play 2 players which is a lot more fun. not only that you can play missions, unlike The Sims on the PC, were you just play for fun and there is really no point to it.
Very addictive

I bought my Playstation 2 over a year ago, and was using it mostly as a DVD player. I purchased the Sims when it first came out because I had played the online version one weekend at a friend's house, and liked it. The Playstation version is so much better and truly addictive. I heard that this game was based on Maslow's Hierarchy. Getting a character satisfied on hunger, comfort, fun, bladder, energy, and room is a constant battle. On the game, as in real life, one is never satisfied. The graphics are colorful and vivid. The characters are amusing. It is a great game for young people. Playing this game made me acutely aware of all the daily hurdles one has to go through. The game is very user friendly. Get the help guide if you're stuck.
