I have just gotten the game today and i started playing it. I thought it was just a 3D version of the game with a story mode in it. I was WRONG. This Game is the best! You start out with the Get A Life Option, where you start out living with your mom, get a job, move out, get married, and have kids. There are a bunch of other new features too. You can customise your Sim to the greatest detail, like their eye color. I have all the sims and their expansion packs and the Sims Online (also a really good game) and i think that this game is the best of all of them. If you have a PlayStation 2 and love any game made by Maxis you should definetly try this one out.
You will love it.

Just got the game today! Where shall we begin? This game is almost an exact port of the pc original, but with extra goodies. First off, the graphics are better than the pc version. Everything in the game has more detail and color put into it and it looks more 3d than the pc version. The controls are set up quite nicely on the dual-shock controller too. It takes about a half-hour to get used to the controls. You start off in the "get a life" mode which is kinda like a tutorial which takes you through the control scheme and how everything operates, but unfortunately forces you to complete before you can play the normal sims mode. It took me a good 7 hours to complete! There's also 2 multiplayer modes, one of them is a co-op mode which you can play through with another person.....this was a neat edition exclusive to PS2 version of the game. The PS2 version also goes more in depth to the physical charateristics and customization of your sims. The over-all presentation of the game is pretty good. Since I only played the pc version a couple of times, I was quite pleased with the PS2 version of the game. If you already own or have played the pc version, then the PS2 version may seem like the same thing all over again. But if you have never experienced the sims & you own a PS2, then you should check this out! It's pretty coool!
AWESOME!!!!

after being addicted to the sim's pc games for like 2 years, just about, i got all the expansion packs and enjoyed them all. then i got the ps2 sim's game and w-o-w. the first 3 days of having the game i didn't do any thing but play it. all of the good humor made me crack up out loud. this was a fun and entertaining game for me and obviously alot of other people. :-)
I Liked it but...

I love the Sims games, but a few things i dont like about it is you have a buying limmit, so its not as fun as the Pc game. Another thing is you cant make a two story house, only one. But i like the idea about haveing a goal on the get a life. And its easier to controll on this game once you get used to it, unless youve been playing the PC for a while. Another thing is it kinda gets boring and pointless once you pass it, so i think they should make another PC into PS2, like unleashed or vacation.

This is The First Simulator that adjective "life" to the ps2 console, perhaps it's a break-trough? you have two modes: "Get A Life!" Mode, & "Play The Sims", Get A Life Mode it's for make money, and do your nessecery goals, Play The Sims it's thr version we all know. What is New In this Version? You Can Angle the camera view like 360 degress, and to do a very very close zoom. I can't tell you in words how much big this game, see for yourself.
Very fun, not as expandable as PC version but great for PS2

Yeah, so you can't upgrade like the PC sims version but for a PS2 version, it's highly entertaining. A worth while buy for Sim fans who want something on their PS2. Some of the downfalls, the controller can be a bit tricky and at times confusing but after playing the intro, easily masterable. The 2 player function is definately an added bonus and tons of fun, however, for users with a smaller TV set it can be a bit conjested and an eye strain. All in all, I think The Sims for the PS2 is a fun adaptation of the PC version with many hours of entertainment to offer to all ages.

I thought I'd see what the hype was on the sims games. It's pretty easy to get the hang of the controls. I basically started out a house with every guys dream.. you and 2 hot twins. It seems however that if you spend all day in the hottub your characters get upset.. something about not having a job and never using the toilet?? Who does that now-a-days anyways? Honestly this game isn't my thing and I don't understand how so many people can be hooked by such a simple and unrewarding game. It's intertaining but I'd say rent before you buy, unless you play sims for the computer.. then I'm sure you already know you want it you addict.

I love the 3D graphics in this game. Better and faster than the PC version and much faster than the Online version.
