this game is the best because it has 2 player functions and it has level based gameplay so you can get new houses and stuff. also it comes with three expansions already loaded to it. they are hot date, livin large and i think the traveling one. you can interact with other people and just like the other one you can get new stuff like a baboon in a costume. also it is funny to watch your sims house burn on fire and when a person in your sims family dies. have fun and dont forget this game is the best.if you like the computer versions than this is the game for you.

This game is one of the best I have ever played! The only problem is that u cant zoom in very much, and Get-A-Life takes a while.Other than that, its awesome. If u have a guide, it is much much easier. But u can still do it w/out 1.If u liked the SIMS for PC, u will luv this game.It takes a while to get used too, but I highly reccomend it.If u get this game and like it, I would also reccomend gettin Dark Cloud 2.
What a let down, rent it first B4 buying it.

I am very disappointed by this game. I am a long time Sim fanatic from the PC version. I have all the expansion packs and was eagerly awaiting the PS2 version. Don't believe the hype. First of all for anyone who is an avid Sim's player, there isn't a whole lot of new things you haven't seen before. Secondly, you start the game building your new 3D character (very few hair/clothes choices) to never be able to appreciate them in the game. Why? You can't zoom in close enough to see any details of your own Sim or anyone else. Secondly let's address the "2 Player" aspect. This is not a true 2 player game. You unlock varying levels. Really it is a split screen that is hard to follow where you play default characters until you have saved others in the neighborhood that you can pick instead. Either way you run around doing stupid contests that have no meaning. Maybe I haven't "unlocked" the true 2 player aspect, but I don't think it exists. I think it is a quasi two player. Not at all the 2 player game I bought it for. Lastly my biggest gripe is the Building feature. Wallpaper is hard to get it on the wall you want it on. Unlike the PC version which is smart enough to know if you are inside, you must be wallpapering inside...the PS2 version does not. There is a "switch" toggle function to get to the correct wall but I find that I have to do it 2-3 times before it works. I am very disappointed with this game and wouldn't have paid the [money]for it had I known it. I suggest everyone rent this and play it so you can make your own decision before you waste the money buying it just to be disappointed like I did. I will be happily playing my PC versions instead.

I had my hopes up for this game. I had gotten it fo pc and it didnt work. Then i got it for ps2 and it kept getting delayed. Finaly when i got it it was pretty bad. The get a life mode stinks. Mom tells me to get a job. I try and get a job but my sims to depressed. Then I'm happy and I'm on my way out to get a job. Mom says I'm not ready yet. It went on like that for an hour until i got off and played a better game.
Now for the neighborhood you can either have alot of cool stuff or a good sized house. Not both though because you can only spend 20,000 simoleons. And u never have time to throw a party. The neighborhood mode would be pretty good if you had weekends, but it's just work work work. And your sims dont listen to u most of the time. They are always to depressed, even when there fun meters half way full.
Not the worst game I have played, but definitely a disappointment.
THE BEST GAME EVER

This is the best game ever. It has the best grafics. In the Get-A-Life mode you have to complete different kinds of missions. There is tons of cool new objects too. There is all kinds of people you can be too. Also you can make a house and live in it just for fun. There is also a 2 player mode. The game is kind of hard to beat though. But if you have a guide book its pretty easy. If you liked all the other Sims games you'll love this one.
PEACE OUT!!![.]

In theory the Sims for PS2 is a great idea. The graphics are so much better. But I am finding that I still prefer to play the PC Sims over the PS2 version. I have issues with the controls and actually controlling my Sims. But this could just be me. I am not quardinated enough to be really great with PS2, period.
This PS2 version of the Sims is very similar to the original Sims game. There are not any of the cool extras that the expansion packs give you.
Overall, a great version of the game, if you enjoy PS2.

I thought the PS2 version was great for someone who hasn't spent the last few years playing the PC version. On the PC in a few clicks you can complete several tasks, check stats, buy items and move furniture around without breaking a sweat. Here its a little more involved. You've basically got 4 buttons in place of a keyboard and mouse. This game is currently collecting dust on my shelf... while Sims Superstar is forever in my CD deck. Both games are great, but sorry PS2... I need my mouse.
Not a very good attention getter

I bought this game thinking it would be FUN!instead i got a game that well just got boring after a while. One nice thing about it is that it does have a get a life mode. Other than that if i were you i would get the computer version where you can actually kill your own sim, and you can get expansion packs.
Okay game, PC Sims MUCH better!

The Sims for PS2 is an okay game, but I highly recommend the PC game more.
PROS
More modes:
Use your Sims as they grow up
2 player game included
More control for how your Sims look
CONS
Can't get close in on the Sims
Cheats aren't as good and aren't as many
Much harder to control your Sims and what they do
3D isn't very good, graphics are pretty bad.
Not as fun as the PC version
Can't download objects from online.
I highly recommend the PC version because it is has much better play and it is very easier to play. Hopefully the Sim's Bustin Out will be better than this one.
