Hands down the best video game in years!!!

I love this game. The first time I played it, I felt like I did when I got my first Nintendo 17 years ago after playing Atari for years: it makes all of the games I've played before seem obsolete. A fantastic game for the Wii platform. Very worthy new title of the Super Mario saga. Everyone I know who has played it-loves it. Buy it today; you won't have a moment's regret.

This game is a colorful, musical, edge-of-the-seat experience. Pure fun the entire time, whether you're playing or, thanks to the ingenious Co-Star feature, spectating. And if you think it's too easy for you, the game's "hard mode" will knock you for a loop! My only problem with Galaxy is that of context, namely: Where can Nintendo go from here? They'll have to take a step or two back and approach from another angle, which worked pretty well for New Super Mario Bros.

Over The Top!!

This game is MORE than I expected! This game is extremely over the top! It is the best Mario game ever, and I am not a huge Mario fanatic. When I bought this game, I bought it based on reviews found here alone. After receiving it, and having played it, it is the best darn game for the wii I ever played! BUY IT immediatedly!!!!

very creative!

I love SMG, but I don't think it's as good as many people say it is. I like SMG because it uses the concept of gravity innovatively, it has nice graphics (in both art direction and pushing the wii to its limits) and music, and because it is a lengthy quest which rewards you for exploring every nook and cranny of its universe.
Anyway, despite all of this, I don't think it's as good as some people say it is. While SMG is my favorite platformer and one of the best games on the wii (ties with Super Paper Mario, it is not perfect. Some of the later levels crank up the difficulty to frusterating and a couple of Mario's power-ups are annoying to use. While these were only minor annoyances, this the main reason I think it is overrated is because it doesn't really redefine the platformer. It's not that SMG is bad, just I think that, to be considered one of the greatest games of all time, you have to do somethink incredibly creative that sparks change in the genre.
Overall:
-If you're a wii owner who isn't too "hardcore" to play mario, get it.

Mario for Dummies

My first Mario game, bought based on glowing reviews (Metacritic). Full disclosure: I am over 40 and mostly play FPS games. It's taken a while but I'm starting to get into it. It's definitely a different paradigm than, say, Bioshock or HL2. Acquisition of Wii component video cable helped improve the looks. No wonder I didn't like Zelda - I was using the RCA cables that come with the Wii! I hope my brain is expanding by learning something new. The mini puzzles are not hard but I feel like I might be learning a new skill, piloting Mario around. Give it some time!

Best Mario Ever.

Be prepared to like this game more than you think you will. It feels as though this is the game they were trying for when they made Super Mario 64. That was a great game. This is much, much better. You think you'll just play a level or two, next thing you know it's four in the morning and you haven't done anything but collect stars. Buy it now and try not to get lost!

The game lives up to the hype. The controls are perfect, the camera is passable (or as good as a third person camera can really get), and the use of gravity in this 3d universe is amazing.

This is a perfect delight for any fan of the long-running series, and I suspect it will draw a few newcomers in.

As a fan of the series, seeing it falter with Sunshine, I find that it has done a fine job of picking itself up, dusting off the bad (water gun) and moving on in a supremely positive direction.

Mario is Nintends most iconic charater and the charater most often thought of when some one say nintendo. A Mario game is usually shipped out with the new nintendo console but this one came a year after the launch of the wii and was worth the wait.

Story: Mario is delivered a letter to Mario from Peach inviting him to the star festival. A usual Bowser shows up and kidnapps peach and it's up to Mario to save her. There's more to the story really but it doesn't matter. If your looking for deeply involving story with substance and sub plots read "Lord Of The Flies" or Play "Final fantasy VII". The story in Mario games is the same as the "Die Hard" series, a thinly veiled excuse for our hero to jump into action and do what they do best.

Graphics: This is the wii so the graphics aren't as powerfula as the PS3 or XBOX 360 bu there great for the game. Everything is bright and colorful and cartoon like suiting the games enviroment. You'll find yourself loving the simple and straight foward designs of the levels and enemies.

Music: The soundtrack is great. So much so I wish Itunes had it aviable for download. The remixes of old songs and new orchestral pieces that fit each enviroment. Grand for levels that have you passing throught large area and slow and spooky for ghost levels.

Gameplay:The controls are great and spot on. Most of the cotrols are the same as from Super Mario 64. you have the jump, double jump, triple jump, side jump, long jump, wall jump(Now improved since when you hit a wall you hang on and slide dow it so you don't have to be absoultley perfect when you do it." the only changes are your 3 punch combo been replaced by a spin attack and the wii-mote is used to collect star bits and shoot the as an alternative form of attack. The game slowly introduces to the diffrent game mechanics so you'll master on ebefore you get another to learn. there's plenty of mission variety so you'll nevr go "I did this mission already".And if you collect every star as Marion you get to replay the game as Luigi!

Cons: Ihave alot of praise for the game but a few minor gripes. The life sytem is pointless. It's doesn't matter if when you quit you have 5 or 50 lives you'll always start with 4. Swimming under water is still a pain to do especially on missons were your reacing or under a time limit and you need to not waste and movment. The bosses are incredibly easy. Once you see and get down there pattern it will only take 1-3 tries before you can win. Even with the big bad bowser. The final boss battle is a huge let down. You faced Bowser so many times up to this point you know all he's tricks and only takes 1 try to win. I died more times gettin to bowser on the final battle then in the actual fight. Ocassionly the camera while greatly improved will get stuck behind a wall and you can't see. The mission difficulty is strange. You'll get a mission so easy your baby sister could do it foloowed by apull your hair out of your head mission that takes hours.

Bu tthese are minor thing sin a great game. While the bosses are mostly easy there much harder under Daredevil comets where you can only get hit once. And there are much harder mission that make up for them. If you got a wii this is a must have game for your collection. 5/5

Worth to buy a Wii just for this game!!

Wow, this game is incredible.

It brings new gravitational elements into the game while maintaining the original gameplay that we have all grown up and loved.

- Nice clean graphics.
- Long game with lots of replay value. ( Game finishes at 60 stars but you can continue getting 120 stars to unlock stuff ).
- The difficulty is challenging enough and not too high that it will make you want to throw your Wiimote at the TV.
- It also offers a 2 player co-op mode to help you collect stars.
