First let me start off by saying I'm not a gamer. I have an X-box and I'm horrible with it.
Also let me state right now that I have skipped at least one full generation of Nintendo systems (I never bought the GameCube), and I believe N64 had a 3D Mario Game, which I also never played. This is my first Mario 3D game.
Is it challenging for me? YES Is it too challenging? No. Can the camera angles be frustrating at times? YES, but I think that only adds to the challenge of the game.
It took me about 2 and a half days (not non-stop) to collect enough stars to beat Bowser and rescue the Princess.
Have I collected all 121 stars? No. (Yes there really is 121 total stars). Have I gotten all of the controlling down? No. That stupid rolling ball continues to be the death of me, that and swimming with Mario is not easy either.
I loved this game though. Especially the Toy Galaxy that gives a throwback to the original Nintendo Super Mario Brothers.
Despite the fact that I beat Bowser, I still continue to play this game as it is very challenging. The Bee Costume, and Ghost Mario are great. Spring Mario is very difficult to move correctly.
All in all, 5 stars all the way. Way more difficult than Lego Star Wars for my Xbox and way less difficult than Halo.
Yes the gravity issue will get you when Mario is upside down and stuff, but again I say that's part of a better more challenging game.
Mario is a hit again

I was doubtful at first of the latest installment of mario but nintendo serves up a hit. Mario galaxy is fun. It's not the most complex game. The puzzles aren't complex at all. This game does serve up some nostalgia though. IT brings us back to the classic coin collecting habits of an old friend. You will see a lot of familiar faces, scenes, and music. The games unique use of gravity and surfaces is great but can be a pain at times. You find yourself trying to go one way but mario goes the other. Not a big deal but can be annoying. The camera isn't to bad but again has it's annoying points. The ability to fully explore your planet is nice but just when you think you can roam on any surface you find yourself falling into the black hole. I love some of the unique ways the game uses the motion controls. This game brings a lot back and I expect it to stay on top for a while. Very much recommended.

thi is a great game. when i first heard it was coming out, it sounded kind of goofy. i mean mario in space?! but then i saw a couple screenshots and videos and then i was hooked on it. i got it for christmas and i loved it starting from the first level! the good: tremendous graphics(best graphics on the wii to be exact),great new controls, fun enviorments, great new enamies. bad: sometimes the controls get a little bit unresponsive.
graphics:5 out of 5 (for the wii it has great graphics)
gameplay: 5 out of 5
sound: 4 out of 5
tilt: 4 out of 5
overall: 5 out of 5
okay, it may not be as good as super mario bros. 3 or super mario 64, but then what is? i would recommend it to anyone owning a wii! cant wait for super smash bros. brawl!
Good fun

This game was purchased as a gift for my son, but he "allowed" us to play it while he was here. We enjoyed it greatly and are going to purchase one for ourselves very soon.

Flying to different planets is fun and new. It's almost easy, but it doesn't replay the same enemies in the different galaxies. You have to save the power stars and the enemy planets you save grand stars, which light and give power to new domes that hold new galaxies.
Must have wii title

First things first, what is wrong with this game. One, at times the camera can be difficult to use. Two, like many wii games it take a little while to get used to the controls. Thats it.
This game is great, no matter your age or skill level you will love this game. The game can be beat fairly quickly but if you want to complete 100% of the whole game it will be challanging enough for older more experinced players.
This is in my mind the first must have Wii title. There were lots of good games out there for the Wii. But in my mind this is the only game made so far that is a nessecary purchase for anyone who owns a wii.
Fun for all ages..what else do you need?

If you are a 20 something looking for a killer new title, this may not be for you. I never was a mario fan that much or really of console games, but once you play this game - the addiction value keeps you going and kicks it up a notch JUST before you get bored or frustrated. This is a quality created game. There is much to explore and it seems larger than some of the larger journey type console games.
In comparison to a PC based shooter or game where your start to finish is maybe a week with a few days put into it, this will last you awhile to say the least.
Like I said, this is a great family game. There isn't blood, gore or anything uncomfortable to adults to play with their kids. They are able to figure out the environment pretty easy (10+) and it will challenge adults also.
When the kids go to bed, you might find yourself picking it up too!
There are some things I would like to have seen, like more tricks / combos to use via the wiimotes, and maybe I've yet to discover them but in the end it's not like bowling or tennis where you have to have an open and clear room and use some energy to play or , stand constantly. This game allows you to plop down in front of the tv and play for hours munching on junk. :) We personally banned too many snacks and keep a tab on the time we are playing to pull ourselves out of the possibility of becoming slugs addicted to this game.
Overall the game is fun and for the money you pay for these games, this is one game where I think you will get your money's worth. If you choose to make a day of playing this vs going to the movies or doing something else that costs money, I think you will have fun doing it and probably will save overall. It brings the family together although PLEASE keep in mind that the 2nd player contribution is VERY limited in this game.
2 players makes it easier, but the 2nd player has a limited task which if you give to the kids, because they want more from the game, can get annoying as they wave their star over you or make you jump when you REALLY don't want to. :)
I personally was not very impressed with the WII or the accuracy until I played this game. Boxing is very inaccurate as is table tennis. Bowling is....ok, and everything else is up for you to decide. This game doesn't over do the usage of the wiimotes yet keeps you on your toes.
I gave it 4 stars for fun (hey I'm old, things just aren't that fun anymore when you've seen it done it) and a 5 overall because it's a game the kids can play and even the wives will like it too.
Our TV hasn't been on all weekend due to the wii, we even (attempted) to go bowling because of the wii. (apparently bowling alley's don't have a problem getting business, we waited for 1 hour for a lane which never opened..oh well still have the wii bowling right!?)
Awesome game!

My daughter is 7 years old and she really likes this game. It takes some practice at first to master movement in the 3D space environment but the game is well designed in that the first 2 levels are mostly practice. Great graphics. Story line is the same as always: princess gets kidnapped...mario goes and saves her.
Love it!!!

Super Mario Galaxy was awesome. The game is a challenge and can get frustrating. Super Mario gets you pumped up to play it again and again. It takes lots of concentration, so do not play it when annoying people are around to screw up your game! Highly recommended by our family.
