This is for sure the best game I have ever played. The few other reviews that say this game is overated, bad, or just like Super Smash Bros. Melee are wrong. This game is packed with new players, such as awesome Meta Knight, a new feature: Build Your own Stage, the new co-op mode, and so much more. You can play this game for hours and never get tired of it. Though the release date was delayed until March, 9, it was worth the wait. I highly recommend this game to people of all ages.
OMG. This game is simply amazing!!

I just bought this game at Gamestop last night (geez, the line was long), and heck yeah, I wasn't disappointed. I was never a big fan of Smash Bros, but Smash Bros Brawl has simply captured my heart. Just a short note, I am one of the top 600 players for Medal of Honor Heroes 2, and I am extremely critical when it comes to games. And I don't play just for fun, I play for competition =)
Anyway, let's get to the main point. The game is well worth the $50, and here is why.
Pro:
1. The controllers: Choose from just the Wii remote to game cube control (which costs $10 now), and especially with Wii & Nun Chuck + manually controller set up, the controller is simply perfected. I haven't try the Wii + Nun Chuck yet, but I believe Wii + Nun will provide another spectacular gaming experience to the Wii owners.
2. Graphic: The graphic is nearly perfect for a Wii game. I love the clarity of the characters, and the innovation of each stage.
3. Stages: The number of stages already augments the replay value of this game. Seriously, it is going to take me at least a week to master every single stage. Oh and another big A+ for the capability to create your own stage. I believe gives like a week or so, you will be able to download customized stage from the internet. (You can simply do that by using a SD card reader and connect to your PC, and download the stages into your SD card. I got my SD card reader for $10)
4. Different game mode: The game is divided into solo and groups. With solo mode, you have the subspace emissary, which is the adventure mode. With this mode you can play up to 2 players. And the classic, master hand, events, co-op events, stadium: target smash, home-run contest, multi-man brawl, training, secrets for continuing. For the group mode, you have Brawl, special Brawl, rotation and tourney. With the combination of that many game mode choices to choose from, I really don't think I will ever get tired of this game. For more information about game modes, please visit http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/index.html.
5. The characters: Smash Bros Brawl added even more characters this game. With 13 characters from the game cubes, 12 new characters for the wii, and 7 secret characters to unlock, that's 30+ characters right there to choose from already.
6. Wi-Fi: I can't say the WiFi platform is perfect, but I think Smash Bros Brawl has the best WiFi system "for the Wii System". I experience no lag during the online game play. You can also add your friend's Wii address onto your friend list.
7. Others: Super Smash is unique for each characters, and you can now save replays into your SD card directly.
Cons: (No game is perfect, and it is true for all games, even Halo 3) But if you think about the value versus the game itself, the game itself deserves a rating that is beyond 5 out 5.
1. Wi-Fi: I guess it is because the game just came out yesterday, so I can hardly find someone to play online with. There is no voice chat, or message system, so if you find someone who you are compatible with online, you wish you can talk to that person, or message him to hope to add him to your friend list, but unfortunately, you really can't do that yet. This bothers me so much when I was playing Medal of honor heroes 2 online.
2. There is only time mode when you play WiFi. I would hope I can choose stock mode when I play online, that makes the game more exciting.
Seriously, I can't really find any flaw of this game. The game is just awesome. I enjoy both playing with myself and with my friends. And wait maybe a week or so, more people will have the game, and more people will be at the WiFi platform. By that time, I will be able to WiFi with my friends together. (Remember, you can actually do a multiple players on WiFi with this game, rather than single player. Which means, when you do a team brawl, you can actually do it with your friend side-by-side)

This is epic. Everything about this game is near-perfect. It is different enough to be called seperate from melee, but at the same time similar enough to retain all the fun. If you get a group full of people, you will definatly have the time of your life.

My best friend was coming in to town, so I bought this game just before he arrived. We both lost a ton of sleep and I was barely productive the next day.
This game is what a lot of games for both GameCube and Wii have been: Social party games good for a couple of hours at a time. And that Nintendo delivers masterfully in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The quick games, lots of options, and ease of gameplay pickup make it a great game for when you've got a group of people over.
People expecting a hardcore gaming experience, and/or people without any friends, should not buy this product.

I bought this video game on June 5, 2008 because Amazon is offering a $ 10 gift card. I thought it's a good deal. Has anyone received an email regarding the $ 10 gift card? If so, how many days after your purchase did you receive the gift card?
My nieces and nephew are having fun with this game.

So far I have had the game for about two days, and I absolutely love it overall. There are no major issues that I have found so far, and all of the content is very much appreciated. Here's a list of the pros and cons:
Pros:
1) Its pretty much the same thing as melee. Which, in my opinion, is a very good thing. Most of the mechanics remain the same.
2) The music is phenominal. Its almost worth paying the money just for this. Over forty musicians were brought together solely for this game, resulting in fantastic compositions. Almost everthing I have heard is orchestrated, i have not reconized anything as fake.
3) Variety, Its almost impossible to run out of things to do in this game, Whether it be wifi, stage building, unlocking characters, or other events. I've nearly wasted all of my afternoons playing this and I haven't even scratched the surface.
Cons:
1) The biggest dissapointment is Subspace Emmisary. I was expecting a whole lot more, but instead I got this repetitive and tedious platformer-like majig. Maybe I was just expecting too much...
2) Unfortunately I have noticed that it is considerably slower than melee. Some of the combos I created with Samus were nearly unexcecutable. The difference isn't much watching it, but when playing it you definitely notcie it. The good thing is I have since then adapted to this, and I'm back at the skill level I was at in Melee. It only took a day in a half.
3) Wifi is a dissapointment. I really wish there was a sort of leaderboard at least, but nothing of the sort exists. The actual battling is fine, but a bit laggy at times. The computer fills in slots if there aren't four players present in battle, dissallowing duels.
Overall, I highly urge you to buy this product even if you only have the slightest bit intrest. I can almost garuntee you that you will enjoy it one way or another. Everything is highly polished, and works phenominally.

This is a truly incredible game. It takes a fantastic game, and improves on it in nearly every way. The level of polish is nearly shocking, as nearly every possible improvement has been made.
You can't pick this up expecting it to be like any other game you've ever played- its an entirely unique experience. A bunch of negative reviews on here seem to be people criticizing it for not being 'a true next gen title'. Thats just a very narrow-minded look at the graphics, which are the least important part of this game. Like every Smash Bros game, its true magic is that ANYONE can play it- someone entirely new to gaming can pick up a controller, button mash, and have a great time even when playing with experts. The replayability is simply amazing, and rare in a time when most new games focus on being the prettiest thing out there instead of the most fun. Pick it up, play with friends, and just enjoy the game!

I've been a fan of Super Smash Brothers since I needed something "different" to play on my gamecube. I only played the original for a short time, but with some serious time with SSBM, I was a convert, permanently. So clearly, I'm a prejudiced fan of the series. But then again, you might be too! So this opinion is for you.
Everything is "still there" minus a couple characters, but 35 is plenty I'd say. Some things have been given better balance, such as Ganondorf. He's still a bad mo fo but definitely not as slippery as before. I don't win every match anymore with him, just nearly every match :)
So much content has been added. You have the standard single player matches, then the subspace emissary which is a lot of platforming with random battles mixed in and some kind of story-ish thing going on, whatever, it's fun to have something different to do. You get the level builder, which has allowed me to make some ridiculous little maps. Quite fun. You have online play, which after a few days is beginning to sort out its kinks and give me some excellent fun times. Yes everyone gripes over friend codes and anonymous play but to be honest, the only thing I looked at online play for was human opponents between weekly matches with my friends.
The super smashes are no worse balance-wise than any of the strong pokemon balls. And the pokemon balls have been expanded, as well as adding the assist trophies which are essentially the same thing but not limited to pokemon. Excellent.
So if you have been on the fence as a fan of the series, trust me, you will not be disappointed by this release, it's a masterpiece in the series and should provide hundreds of not thousands of hours of fun for those of us who already know how perfectly satisfying a good smash into the face of your least favorite nintendo character can be.
