what makes this game awesome is stealth.

This game rocks! IT does get kinda annoying when you cant get through a lvl but that happens in all games. This game is different than most gun games where its more blood,tones of easy enimes to kill and a panzy looking guy.splinter cell is a stealth action game where you got to do realistic missions and and have awesome gear.If YOU DONT YOUS STEALTH YOU'll NEVER GET PAST THE FIRST LVL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has got to be the worst game I have ever played. 1st the graphics are horrible 2nd the missions are relly hard I got stuck on this mission were I am on the boat and there is nowhere to go. You will find yourself doing one mission over and over again till you finally want to take an ax to your ps2. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this game.

Having played Splinter Cell on both PC and PS2, I must say that I am quite disappointed with the PS2 edition. The original Splinter Cell was released on XBox, with the PC version coming released next and the PS2 port later. Ubisoft have added a few levels for the PS2, probably to increase the value and playability. That seriously confused the hell out of me at first :)

However, with all these additionals, the plot seems to have taken a hit somewhere. The intro movie on the PS2 version shows some pretty action packed stuff but the plot as the game unfolds doesn't seem to bear it out. Techwise, the PS2 version is also less detailed than the PC version, with some of the maps shrunk slightly or having lesser enemies to contend with on some stages. The framerate also takes a hit at strange times, when there is very little happening onscreen. Unfortunately, quality issues seem to be the trend with recent PS2 ports from XBox/PC (think Max Payne 2).

Overall, the game is not bad if it's your first introduction to the action stealth genre. But if given a choice, I would take Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven or MGS2 over Splinter Cell anyday.

Actually i thought it [was unacceptable], from camera agles to story. Control was good, buy hey playstation always controls good.

I was really impressed with this game! Now of course, you have to compare this game with what else? MGS2! If I was to choose it would probably be Splinter Cell because of the special AI and great stelth! But dont get me wrong MGS2 is a great game, but I think that Splinter Cell was a better game because, well, MGS2 was made before Splinter Cell and the makers of Splinter Cell could have seen the flaws of MGS2. For example: in MGS2 you can run behind someone and choke them and they could not detect you or not very well, anyways in Splinter Cell if you tried to do that well they would detect right of the spot. So the AI in Splinter Cell could of been smarter making it a great great game. If you like stealth and military agent action GET THIS GAME!

i,ve finish this game at last but i,ve never play a game like this before it was very very hard but i like it very much i was play it at the day 10 hours some times just to finish it ,,, if u wanna buy this game u have to think because its not like u think because its defferent for all the games of this world and if u have pachent u can play this game u will like it very much but as i sead its very hard ,,, if u buy it & u cant finish it just ask me and i will help u.rami202@excite.com.

pros: *decent enough grahics
*decent handling
*plenty of moves
*some nice level designing

cons: *weak AI
*numb, inaccurate, piss weak weapons (all 2 of them)
*very linear
*very little snazzy equipment (what little you get
you never use)
*annoying alarms programmed to go off without warning
(supposedly when a body has been found when it blatantly
hasn't cause there is no one to there find it)
*short game
*a good 1/2 is made up of crappy missions

the cons outweigh the pros, now i'm off to part exchange mine.

Great game, no replay value, rent this game, do not buy

Splinter Cell is the best stealth game i have ever played! This is one of the best games ever! Great game play, story line, awesome moves, graphics are stunning. the only problem is that the game has little to no replay value. This game is great to rent durring a week where u will have nothing to do. if u buy this game, u will be dissapointed.

Gee whiz at first, but gets old FAST...

I was very excited about trying out what I had heard was one of the best games of the year. And popping into the PS2 for the first time, I was VERY impressed. The graphics are stunning, especially the lighting and night-vision. But once you start playing the game, it's completely linear. Every mission needs to be completed exactly the same way. Why bother playing it again?
