This game is all out good. A great tutorial and good gameplay it kicks but. It will grab you from any other game and make you determined to finish it as it did to me. Metal Gear Solid is good but this game is great. I cant wait for part 2. If you dont have this though then get it. It is worth it.

Every game that I own by Tom Clancey has been wonderful and this one is included! You are an American spy named Sam Fisher and you kill terrorists to ensure the safety of the United States of America. I strongly suggest this game if you like espionage games or if you like Tom Clancey. Also if you love this game than you will also love rainbow six 3. Once again I strongly suggest this wonderful Tom Clancey Game. Thank you and good night.

I got this game over a year ago and got stuck at the CIA headquarters mission. soon after I started playing other games ( ghost recon, james bond, JAK II, etc.) and stoped playing splinter cell. So within the last couple days I have been playing it again in preperation for Pandora Tommorow and have now remembered what a great game it is. I have now easily beat a few more levels today alone. It is a great game and would recomend this to anyone, and yes I am a older than 12.

The Ultimate Stealth Experience

It's time to open a new chapter in video game reviews. Although I am not new to the genre, I will be writing under this new name from now on. First up, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, the ultimate stealth gaming experience. In the mold of the Metal Gear Solid Franchise, you play as Sam Fisher, a George Clooney look alike who isn't a trypical badass hero, but is simply called upon because he will get the job done. Fisher is sent into Georgia to investigate the dissaperance of two agents. By the end of the game, you'll have to read the back cover to remind yourself why you were intially sent on this mission because of the in depth storyline, and phenomenal writing. Clancy himself penned this excellent plot, which seems to be missing from most video games nowadays. The game is simple: hide in shadows, tip toe from place to place, use cool gadgets such as a diversion camera and disposable lock picks, and most important of all, stay hidden. I'll admit, Splinter Cell is not for every avid gamer. To play a game like Splinter Cell requires an incredible amount of patience and time. Be prepared to spend 2+ hours getting by a single mission. In my opinion, the game is well worth it. Thanks to its excellent story, in depth scenarios, cool gadgets and lengthy play, Splinter Cell gets the highest rating of 5 stars, and kicks off this gamers tour reviews.

Nicely Done

I gotta admit, I'm starting to get into the espionage/technothriller genre of books, movies, and video games. Since I have a PS2 instead of an XBox (why the heck would anyone want an XBox if they already have a PC?), I decided to wait out the PS2 debut of this critically-acclaimed game.

Now, I'm one who rents his games before buying them, so I decided to rent it, and was it worth it? You bet it was. Now I just have to buy it. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (I find it awkward putting Clancy's name in the title because he had nothing much to do with the game itself), is a fine piece of espionage entertainment for the PS2. Now, let's get down to brass tacks.

Of course, the most important element of any video game is the gameplay, and Splinter Cell does excel in this area. Stealth is the name of the game: it's extremely cool to shoot out the lights in a corridor when the guard isn't looking, then move in for the kill. There's no blood or gore from what I saw, and that's good that a game can be realistic without being bloody or gory. Don't get too down about the training mode at the beginning of the game. It's essential if you want to do well at the game. The only complaint I had about the gameplay is that there's a little too much trial and error involved. I killed a civilian at the beginning of the game without even knowing he was a civilian, and I had to start over again.

The secrets and interactive elements in the game keep the replay value pretty high.

Plotwise, the game is realistic and convincing, and the voice acting is good. Sam Fisher's moments of witty banter add a nice touch to the surrounding environment.

Overall, a nicely done stealth game that should keep you coming back for more. However, I wouldn't play this game with anyone under the age of 8. The game is still violent, and there's some brief language, something the ESRB failed to point out. But if you're at least age 12, get ready for some fun.

Fisher...Sam Fisher

Having never played the XBOX version of SC and having only seen screen images from TV, I hope to give a good objective PS2 review of this game because I can leave out the compairisons.

That said, this is close to one of the most addictive games I have ever played. You play Sam Fisher, and UBER-Operative working for a splinter NSA group called "Third Echelon". Your goal is simple; infiltrate enemy strong holds (and even friendly ones [CIA HQ]) and gather intellegence to keep the US from going to war with Russia and China. You will accomplish all of this from a third person view of Sam Fisher, with support from "Third Echelon" members.

The game has 2 difficulty levels (normal and hard) and I have played through the normal level so far, which was a challenge, but not nearly as difficuly as I expected. Novice players will have an easy time getting to know the game. The controls are laid nicely and camera control with the right analog stick is great. Your first mission is some training at the CIA training facilities. This mission was designed to help players get used to the controls and I really appreaciated it. It's not a long level, nor is just an annoying tutorial. Which is good, because you have to complete training before you can start, no matter what.

Each succesive level adds just a little bit more difficulty, but you also become better equiped each time too. After completing the first 2 missions, you'll be stalking and knocking out unsepecting soilders and police like a pro.

The enemy AI is bar none, some of the best I have ever encountered in a video game. One wrong move out of the shadows or make too much noise and they start looking for you. You can loose them in the shadows too, but they'll even start firing into random areas were you thought you just escaped to.

The graphics range from fair to great. Some areas of the game could have been rendered better, but that's just nit-picking on my part.

The sound is also top notch and the ambient back-ground music does a good job of adding to the suspense. The "in-game" music annoyed me a little, but you can adjust that to your taste. The voice acting ranged from good to a little funny at times. Micheal Ironside does a great job voicing Sam Fisher. He's creepy, it was great. There is an interview with him in the games extra features that was interesting. If you don't know who Micheal Ironside is, you'll recognize him when you watch the interview.

My biggest complaint would be screen and sound adjustment. If you want to hear everything said in the CGI between mission sequences, then make sure both music and ambient sound settings are on. You do not have any control over in mission screen displays either. There were a few times when I wish I could have dimmed the status displays on the screen.

One other problem annoyed me a little, and that was collision detection. I personally hate invisible walls. When dumping an enemy body all the way into a corner, a portion of their body would dissapear into the wall. It was just an annoyance however and didn't make the game any less fun.

Slide the disc in, turn on the tube and turn off the lights for some great espionage action. This is what James Bond should be. "Fisher, Sam Fisher"

I love games like this. One of my favorite games of all time is Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Thats why i was pissed when i beat it in about 8 hours. I thought i was gonna have to wait like three years for the next metal gear to come, but along came splinter cell. Although Metal Gear Solid is great, its plot is more of a fanatsy than reality. In this game however its scary because this could happen. As your playing the game you almost get chills from how realistic this is. The only bad part about this game is that i couldnt remeber any of the characters names. I knew Sam Fisher and that was about all. I mean from metal gear solid i remember everyone. So go get this game, its worth your money.

THE FREEKING BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED
