Huuuuuurrrrrraaaaaaay ....get the feel of racing

I received this game from a friend for a couple of days and I thought the gameplay was excellent . Although when controlling the cars , the direction is a bit abrupt , it is so fun to play .
There are many options , such as drag racing and against the clock , which differ it to other racing games and the fact that you can modify your car along the way with body kits , nitro, and other engine parts is just great !!! A must for racing enthusiasts !!!

Fun racing game.

I enjoyed this game's graphic. The control of the vehicles was very comfortable. The only problem I had with this game was that all the racing took place in a "dark" environment. Granted, they stated the title to be "Underground", but that does not mean they had to keep it all so dark. The driving was a bit more difficult because sometimes it was hard to differentiate the city light with the direction of the road. The upgrades were silly, because it confused me as to what I needed to upgrade to. I had to search for my options, because sometimes the newly available upgrade was just a silly sticker for the side of the car.

Don't get me wrong, this game is fun and I am not done playing it. My buddy borrowed my copy of this game and finished it before I did. He told me that he went online to play against other players and not very many people wanted to race him because he did not have a heavily modified vehicle. He said that the race was okay online, but not addicitive.

I race with the interface as if I am looking out from the cockpit and I think the control is very nice. I played Auto Modillesta and I will sell that game soon, it was one of the most uncomfortable driving game I have ever played.

Overall, if you love driving games I'd highly recommend this one for your collection. It rivals GT3 in control if not graphics. Not much tracks available to choose from, so that could have been better.

great game but gets dull

This is a great game. I only borrowed it from my friend and it took me a few weeks to beat. I like the fact that you can customize your car from the performance, to the neon, to the windows, and all the way to the engine paint, and brake capillers. Wicked fun game, with awesome music, like all of the need for speed games. The only downside to the game is that it is really hard at level 99 to 101, which is good, but after that it is really easy, and blows the end of the game. it also get old after you beat it like most games, but it is fun to play with friends after it is beat, not just by yourself. It is by far the best street racing game so far, much better then midnight club. I would recommend buying it

Great Game

I like racing games, my favorite is still GT3, but I must admit that I enjoy playing "NFS: Underground" more. This game hooks you up from the very beginning because of all the modifications you can do on your car. The races themselves present a challenge because you have many obstacles like cars or trees on the way and such, but the cars are easy to drive and you don't have to brake that much, only in the latter races.

I breezed through races just to spend countless hours decorating my cars adding bumbers, vinyls, and other accesories to it. I did some things to some of these cars that I would never do on a my real car, but that's what's fun about it. There are multiple race types: drift, drag, time trials, circuit, and sprint, drag races being the most fun.

Some minor setbacks are the limited race tracks there are and the limited car models. The music is ok. The graphics are very good too.

This game is way better than i had ever imagined with very many races (including tournaments) and billions of different ways to customize any car that you would like. The only bad thing about this game is that there's only 1 city. It's always dark and it's always wet. But other than that you can not beat the best racing game of 2003!!!

The only thing missing is a replay mode--4.5 stars

This game is great. Incredible graphics and sense of speed. A little to arcadey for my taste but nonetheless addictive.
Customization of cars is very real. The only drawback is that there is no replay mode. That is why I give this game 4.5 stars.

Need for Speed Underground....High on Speed........

I got to admit, I've never been much of a Need for Speed fan. With the exception of Hot Pursuit 2, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Yet, Need For Speed Underground grabbed me by the short and curlies-from the get-go- and wouldn't let go. Sadly, it wasn't the sense of speed that drawed me or the tuned-up autos from manufacturers such as Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suburu or Dodge. It was the attention to car detail that drawed me. You can customize your car just about anyway you'd like with parts such as Neon lights, Hood/Rear Covers, and rims & more. That adds a whole new level to things and is what makes this an incredibly deep racer. Another thing that adds to an already stellar presentation is all the racing modes you have in the game(Drag, Drift,Quick Race, Circuit) to give it more of a true life 'street racing' feel. Visually, it's absolutely stunning(you can actually see the slick wet streets of the night). Quite possibly, the best-looking racer I've seen on the PS2 yet. One last thing that should be mentioned is its' online play. That's the one thing that separates it from the other console versions(and, boy, is it sweet). This is the only street racing game I know, right now, that gives Midnight Club II some serious competition. Definitely one I'd recommend to racing fans.
Although, it isn't without its' flaws. Single-player wise, it's pretty awesome as you progress through over 100 grueling race competitions. Yet, multiplayer wise, it seems average to me. It coulda' used alot more shortcuts(like in Midnight Club 2) to make things more interesting between racers. It would've been nice to be able to customize decals and such from scratch for your car and modify individual parts(instead of getting leveled kits) to further make your car the ultimate ride. But, all this in itself, is nitpicking.
Admittedly, I'm a big Midnight Club II fan but I can find a place on my shelf to include NFS Underground.
Overall, Need for Speed Underground is a worthy addition to any street racing fans' library. It's a solid game that will definitely get your adrenaline pumping. I hope we see another game in this new series...it definitely calls for one.

One of the best racing games yet...

NFS Underground is the ideal racing game. It shows street racing at it's best with hot cars, beautiful graphics, and amazing gameplay. The only downside is how fast paced it is. When you're driving at 140 mph in the game, the street and the cars go as fast as that so it's kind of hard to keep up with the turn's. And another thing I don't like is the traffic. It seems to just pop up in front of me after a sharp turn and I'm in the lead. Maybe it's because it's on hard, I dunno. But w.e it is, it's very aggravating.
