a welcome additon to the NFS family

this game, while unbelievely frusterating, will hook you faster than anything you've ever played. If your into racing and love the whole tuner idea, there could never be a better combo. the custimazation options are insane and will have you building cars jus to look at em. this game also supports online via the network apapter so you can show your baby off in all its glory. By far the most exhilarating feeling in the game is the drag mode. there really is no feeling quite like running down a straight away, cars whizzing by your windows at 200 mph, screen shaking uncontrollably, then hitting the NOS and leaving the rest of the chumps that thought they could race in the dust! the only small frustration is the repetative pattern in traffic and a small amount of bad level design (i.e. getting caught on a small lip while using the wall for leverage.) O and by the way if you read that review about the engine blowing up over and over, its because they didnt know how to shift in drag mode! read the instructions next time before dumping on a great gaming expierience please!!!

Need For Speed: Underground is one of the best installments in the series. Underground features extensive levels, character models, and of course, cars to get you into the game. After five minutes of playing you will be in awe. With car customizing this game is like a fantasy "The Fast And The Furious". You have to use your driving skills to win the races and tournaments and new modes including "Drag" and Japanese "Drift", to make your way to the top in this game. The only thing that would make this better is extensive levels where you can travel as you wish like in NFS: Hot Pursuit 2.

This game is very cool and is like street racing but has some flaws. GOOD:Need For Speed is known for there amazing cars goes customizable in this game. The cars are ok original but as you progress you get awesome upgrades you can choose and switch. Also like in Fast and the Furious this game also has Nitro but should last longer in the game-you get about 4 seconds on the pro stage upgrade (1st). Also it has people at the sideline at the start to cheer. Great graphics and environment is awesome. BAD:Cars are always in your way and your car crashes way too much and has NO DAMAGE AT ALL. This game is another great Need For Speed game and is fun. P.S. All races are at night and ALL RACES HAVE TRAFFIC. You cannot quit tournaments in the middle or you'll lose all your progress in the tournament and races ca be long. In regular races you have to finish 1st in the races to advance. Good game but needs work, but still good enough to buy.

This game has pretty good graphic's and styling cars. I like that you can create and manage your cars, and not just choose and race. You can be in DRAG,CITY, and many more races. You can even be on magizine covers, if you win a lot and have cool looking cars. This is a pretty good game.

the best game ever its got 20 cars that you make into to street racers.it has the song GET LOW,24'S EXT. ITS WORTH ALL 50.00. BEUT IF YOUGO TO TARGET YOU CAN GET IT FOR 42.99. WOW! I RECOMEND THE GAME.

...and this is coming from a guy who doesn't even like most racing games. but i put NFSU in my PS2 a week ago, and i've hardly gotten any sleep since. simply put, the game is nearly perfect, and really, really addictive. you start the story/career mode with a slow, stock car, like a honda civic... and nearly every win gets you some kind of reward; underglow kits, mettalic paints, carbon fiber hoods, nitrous, rims and tires, weight reduction, you name it. soon, you'll be racing through traffic on beautiful city streets so fast it'll leave you breathless. honestly. ea does an excellent job of varying the types of races and scenery, so it never gets old. i read a review that said the tracks were monotinous; true, all the races are at night, on the same city's streets, but the game uses all these streets in different configurations... it's hard to explain, but trust me, the tracks are definitely not boring. there's a drag racing mode where you try to outmuscle your opponent without blowing your engine or hitting oncoming traffic (but the crashes are so perfect i don't mind wrecking) and a drift racing mode which was hard for me to get into at first, but now i love it. basically, drifting is done on an special curvy, oil-slicked track where you use your hand-brake to throw your car into controlled skids... really you're trying to skid through the whole level without hitting the walls... it's not easy, and it takes a lot of getting used to, but it's worth it in the end. i wouldn't change a thing on this game. the soundtrack is perfect, with liscensed rock and rap music; the graphics are beautiful, even when you play split screen; the control is tight and accurate, but not realistic to the point of frustration; the cpu-controlled cars are tough but not impossible to beat; the tracks are diverse and packed with shortcuts to help you get back in the race if you fall behind (which will happen inevitably as you thunder down a packed city street making hairpin turns at 140mph); there are hundreds of ways to customize your car to get it looking and handling just the way you like it; and most importantly, it's just fun. games you have this much fun playing, by yourself AND with friends, just don't come along all that often. i'm about to go and play it right now.

to start off this game is amazing. I got it for christmas and havent been able to put it down. A great feature that EA included was before each race you can choose the difficulty. So, if you beat the game on easy you can go back and try it on medium and hard. There are however two let downs in the game... no police and it doesnt matter how many times you crash your car will still look brand new. Also, the crashes are a bit drawn out.
This games is as close to perfect as a racing game can get.

I got this game for Christmas and once i started playing it i couldnt stop. I played it all day! If you are in to graphics this is for you, if you are in to racing obviously this is for you, if you want some competition this is for you. Positives: Graphics, competition, cars and car upgrades, gaming overall. Negatives: The length of the game.

this game is great all the hot new cars you can think of are in this game like the skyline and the eclipse and supra and you can make them just the way you like them the rims are nice the cars are hot and so are the ladies and this game is great on the internet i have beat this game 4 times and i still want to beat it more buy this one and buy need for speed underground 2 coming out fall 2004 this is a wonderful game and i hope you go out and buy it and race me on the internet
