Kingdom Hearts

I am so disgusted that the makers of such an excellent series in Final Fantasy can make such a stupid game in Kingdom Hearts. How messed up is it to put Disney characters in it? Messed up! And, I will be even more annoyed if this takes the place of FFXI. Everyone who loves the FF series should write to SQUARESOFT and tell them they better continue making Final Fantasy.

Worst rpg ever

I am completely ashamed that the same folks who brought us the master pieces of Final Fantasy, would create this load of garbage. It has all the qualities of a good RPG and buries them under pointless tasks, annoying boss's, bad dialog, and shameless plugs. Hint to disney, stick with making pitiful spin off games from your movies, and leave the role playing to the real games. as far as the technical area of this game, the camera blows, the auto target helps none and only furthers the advantage of your enemies, and the extra characters get in the way more than they help. Using magic is practically out of the question, and if you want a interesting array of moves that require more than one button, then look some place else. I have played computer solitare games that held my interest longer than this game. Designers, please focus on getting us new Final Fantasy games faster, and not on more of these wastes of plastic. Gamers, if your are looking at this as a first time RPG, don't it will only give you the wrong impression on other RPG's out there. Grab FFX and enjoy what a real RPG is, if you are looking for cute Disney fun, go to your local Video store and shuffle through the kiddy section.

Somewhat Disappointing

I impatiently awaited for the release of this, but only to be let somewhat disappointed by the game. I had the idea that the game would have final fantasy type characteristics and the only similarity that I saw was the fact that some FF characters helped you on your quest. You only get control of one character, Sora, while Goofy and Donald (and in some worlds main characters such as Aladdin, Ariel, Jack, etc) are controlled by the computer. The worlds you visit are nicely designed, but they seem a bit childish for me. The game is fairly easy which was also a major letdown. I expected more out of this game, but I should of realized it is also a Disney Interactive game where all their games are geared toward children. They should of had a FF type battle system and they should of allowed the control of all the other characters that help you on your journey. It would of been great to see Disney characters in a real FF type game. That would totally rock! This was just a adventure type game that is meant for kids under 14.

Great, but not Excellent

This is certainly one of the best games around the ps2 game console. The story is highly entertaining, and the cutscenes are expertly done. The graphics are pretty descent, but the people are a little blocky.
Now... GOOD THINGS
-Excellent story
-Good Graphics

Now, to the bad things.... This game has a serious problem with gameplay. The view is difficult to play with, and you need to use 2! buttons to rotate it during gameplay. In addition, it can get quite boring fighting the same enemies countless times just mashing the X button. Becuase thats all you do, is mash the X button. There are only a few combos that can be aquired at the end of the game, and they are not worth getting, with the time it takes to get that far. It is a kid game in the sense of fighting, where all you have to do is mash X a lot, but not in the sense of gameplay other than fighting. I am 14, and found myself constantly referring back to the walkthrough, and so will you. Some of the tasks are so ridiculiously difficult, that you won't want to take the time to figure them out. Many of the tasks are so EASY, and yet so unobvious, that it may take you 3 hours to figure out that all you had to do was talk to this peron three times, or ring a clock twice or something. In particular, i was stuck in the wonderland house for some time until i found that i had to push the bed into the wall... HOW SILLY OF ME!! Its replayability is pretty good, because it will take you HOURS AND HOURS and DAYS and YEARS to do EVERYTHING in the game, which is why i didn't. It gets just downright dull and boring doing the same thing every level. hack, and slash, and hack, and slash... you'll find yourself hoping to see a cutscene more than you'll hope to see another enemy. YUCK. The cutscenes and the story and great, they should have just made it a movie and ditched the game idea. Its worth borrowing from a friend and playing for a while, but its certainly not worth $$. Save your money, borrow from a friend like i did.

Was good for a while, then fell apart

The story was great, the graphics were nostalgic. What killed the game for me? When I got to Ursula and realized what a bad idea having the menu system was. Trying to scroll down on the control pad to acess potions, only to have one of the eels hit me and it scrolls back up was just annoying. Also, the gummi ship system was flawed in two ways: not enough vareity of gummies that drop from enemy ships, and the blueprint system. How am I supposed to build a new ship when I don't know which gummies I need to build it?

Stop using this like a forum!

(...) I didn't enjoy this game, that much cos it was hard to understand, and seemed complex. I thought that final fantasy seven was more enjoyable, however Cloud, Aerith, Cid and Yuffie are appeared so that really made me like it, but I CANNOT STAND THE GUMMI SHIPS I MEAN WHATS THE POINT IN IT!!!! A fairley average game not as good as expected though, it vwas too short for a square enix game.

THE GOOD:
The battle type is fast pace and refreshing from previous RPG style games but because its so fast pace i don't even know if i can even really consider this an RPG but still the battle type is fun and really easy to get used to. The Cameo apperences of big name square soft characters such as Cloud, Yuffie, Squall, Cid, and of course one of the greatest villans ever sephiroth. The voice actors arn't nearly as bad as i thought they would be they really seem to put effort into what they say. Also utada hikaru's song was excellent i just had to represent the j-pop pride!!
THE BAD:
One of the largest problems i saw with the game was there just wasn't enough square soft character cameos in this game as i thought there would be. Not to mention Sora's character design is just alittle to fruity, now the hair and cloths arn't that bad but NOW ONE NEEDS SHOES AS BIG AS THAT!!! Also i said the battle type was good but the auto lock ons make it to easy, you know what i mean right? veteren video game players like you and me just want the extra challenge of learning a new battle system but this one is just to easy to master! Now i'm not a fan of disney and this may sound dumb but i just can't stand being with a disney character non stop! What i mean is you can't get rid of donald and goofy even if you get jack in your party you can only use him in halloween town which was a huge disapointment for me because he looked like the cooliest sub character you could get!
And lastly where are the crono trigger characters they brought back some Final Fantasy characters so why not Crono characters to! i would love to see magus and crono again!

SUMMARY:
Over all not a bad game but i never would have bought it if it wasn't for the square soft characters!

This game stinks

I hate this game. First of all, the characters are all voiced by the same person. Battles invovle an incredible array of boring and trite attacks that get old the first time you see them. The disney characters take away any worth this game might have had, but sadly there was none to take away. This game is worthless.

Nice Double Team

Sqaure and Disney did a great job of making a game. Hears the ups and downs
Ups
Nice graphics
Well if it's sqaure, it's gotta be a good RPG
Old Final Fantasy Favorites return
The battle system is realistic
Superb voice acting
Great items that help you
Nice love story
Unlike Final Fantasy, regular fight's are quick, and u don't have to get annoyed, unless u hate fights
When u die u don't have to start from a save points
value is great
This has every right to be called one of squares greatest
Downs:
The gauges are a little weird
Sometimes bosses get annoying and repetitive
The Hades cup is long and annoying
No save point when you're fightin Amsen
Sometimes the game is a bit confusing
Why can't no one from other worlds join your party(Especially good ol' Final Fantasy characters instead of Donald and Goffy, well goffys pretty good)
Why are there solo fights
Some worlds are loaded with monsters, and makes u jes wanna skip it

Well this is a great game, and should be picked up by any fan of Square and Disney. But it ain't as good as FFX, but 1 ... a game
