I have all four in the Jak series except Jak X, and Jak 2 is very good. For one thing, you can steal ships, and which makes this good, you can't steal ships in the first or third game. And probably the best of all, it introduces guns to the gameplay, which probably gets more teenagers to play. Jak matured from the the first Jak and Daxter, so there is some language and things like that. Overall, it's good.
Stealing ships. Ah, that's the best part. You could steal any ship you want, and even the guard ships (which are the best) but they all atack you for that. I just beat up more, and they keep coming. Ha.
I haven't finished any of them yet, but I've heard that there's hoverboards in this game. For all you that played, is that right? But that just sounds cool riding hoverboards. So thanks for reading this. I appreciate it.

I've been playing this game for about a week. I keep running into "impossible" tasks that take me a couple hours to accomplish. If you're like me, this is fun, in a masochistic, maddening, vein-popping-out-of-your-temple, throw-the-effing-joystick-across-the-room sort of way. I don't find this game offensive, despite the "darker" overtones that it has over the previous Jak & Daxter game. The game environment is lush and extensive. Not that I have many complaints, but one thing that does bug me is that a lot of gametime is spent moving through parts of the city that, aside from other hover-cars or pedestrians (that are mostly just obstacles), and an occasional fruit basket, there's not much interaction. I'd like to be able to explore the huts in the doc area, or enter the shops in the bazaar area.
This game does provide lots and lots of gameplay variety, though. You never know what your next task is going to be. From escort missions, to timed races, to third-person shooting, to Dance-Dance-Revolution-like button-mashing challenges.
This game will provide you hours and hours of very challenging and diverse gameplay, and fans of the platform genre will not be disappointed.

Move over Mario Jak's come to town.
With perfect grapics and great cimattics Jak 2 has to be the best game of the year. In this game you have a Jet-board, guns, zoomers (cars that hover), and a meck suit. Jak 2 also features 4 boss battles. And with seventy missions this game will keep you hooked. The only flaw is that you can get to the last boss in under fifty hours.
I love this game, I;m going to give it a 5. Go get a copy of Jak 2.

Alright everyone who owns a ps2 probably knows about jak and daxter. the game was cute and not that challenging. But it didn't sell well, so they added bad language, tony hawk skateboarding, gta hovercar stealing, and weapons. Sure you think it sounds bad but the game is awesome. I've already beaten, but I just beat games fast, the game is long and challenging. it's almost impossible not to die. it has a good twist in the storyline. trust me it's awesome the best game, and platformer. it's worth your money.

This game is simply awsome. The graphics are very good and the game is open ended like vice city or grand theft auto 3 so you can go do your missions whenever you feel like it.The city that you start in is huge and if you want to you can go and explore the dangerous wastlands outside the city. The game is very long to so you wont be beating it in a week like some games.all in all this game is very good.

This game is a very mixed bag. The graphics are really spectacular, especially during the cinematic type scenes between missions. The story is really pretty interesting and involving, unlike what you get with a lot of other platform type games (e.g. Wario World). But a game should be fun, and in a lot of ways this one isn't. As other reviewers have observed, it is just too hard. You constantly find yourself having to fly around on hover-craft or jet boards (that are at times infuriatingly hard to control) to blow up so many of this or that in 2 minutes. If you fail, guess what...you get to start all over again. If you're walking through a level and die or fall in a pit, guess what...you get to do it all over again. You might end up repeating a level or mission 50 times before you FINALLY get it. There is little or no room for error. The fact that the vehicles are so difficult to control and the camera angles do not always help makes the difficult nearly impossible at times. I'm halfway through the game, and I've had it for about three weeks. I've only played it for about 15 hours, because I can only take so much of it. I tend to play it in spurts, then leaving it aside for days on end. I keep coming back to it because of the story, graphics, and this stubborn sense that I'm not going to let this thing get the best of me. I've done mission x 38 times and failed, might as well make it 39. So, bottom line, if you want to spend countless hours becoming increasingly angry and frustrated by a game with good story and graphics, this one's for you.
A satisfying sequel

Jak and the little orange fuzzball return to the Ps2 in this much darker-toned story. Jak, after traveling through a time warp, is sent into the distant future and is captured by the ruler of Haven City, the Baron. The Baron puts Jak through torturous exposures to dark eco over the duration of a couple of years, until Daxter comes to the rescue. With that, the adventure begins.
In general, Jak 2 is a blend of characteristics of many cherished games including Tony Hawk Pro Skater, The Legend of Zelda, and GTA 3. Very, very similar to GTA 3, the story takes place in a large city complete with its own citizens and law enforcement organization; other parts of Haven City are unlocked as the adventure proceeds, and it gets pretty tiresome to travel from one end to the other, which takes 5 minutes a lot of the time (atleast its not as bad as the ghastly ocean in The Windwaker).
Jak completes various missions for various people, like in GTA, and some of these missions are quite devilish. You will most likely find yourself trying missions a couple of times before succeeding, but I must say, it's worth it. If you do find yourself fuming, just remember before you take the cd out and proceed to crack it in half that it would be much more profitable to sell the game.
The graphics are amazing, the plot is somewhat interesting, the voices are brilliant, and overall, it's a good mix of platformer and action ingredients.
It wouldn't hurt to rent the game before purchasing it if it sounds questionable, but I would undoubtedly recommend it to Jak and Daxter fans.
lots of fun but also lots of torture

jak 2 is definitely one of those games you either love or hate. the smooth graphics decent controls and vareity of gameplay make it pretty good sounding. however sounds can certainly be deceiving. while jak 2 sets out to do what it wants to do very well. and provide fans with loads of gameplay. it also tortures you endlessely for slight mistakes. about 2 percent into the game you come across a city. its a big city with lots of buildings and places that all look the same. in order to complete a mission you have to travel into a city where its easy to get lost. the crimsonb gaurds usaully kill you and thats it youre back to do it all over again. theres also a swamp you have to cross it without getting hit 4 times. thats just about impossible for me because i get hit 3 times like thayt. also about 77 percent into the game theres bunches of insane missions.. one about 52 percent iny=to the game youll have to save 6 pedestrians while having dosens of gaurds chasing you. it reaches a point were by the hundreth time you die in one day. and then back up once again to gret lost in this darn city. its just too discauroging. and jak 2 is just not all that great to begin with. you die more than you have fun. it would be a good idea for you to make this just a rental. just let this one pass you buy its not all that great anyway. let this one garner more dirt on the shelves. and get either game from the rachet and clank series.
