The Best of the Series

First of all, let me say, if you're expecting a game that is basically the same thing as The Precursor Legacy only with better graphics... you're in for a huge surprise. This darker, grittier game will appeal to fans of games like Halo, Grand Theft Auto, Ratchet & Clank, and so on. You will also find a lot of fangirls addicted to this game. Why? Because for once, one of the villains is attractive.

JakII starts out exactly where TPL left off until our heroes are dumped in the sprawling metropolis dystopia of Haven City through the Rift Gate found in the "Secret Ending" of the last game. After two years in prison, Jak is mad as a hornet and seeking revenge. It becomes more than a quest for revenge, however, as bigger things unfold...

While the game in itself is one of the hardest games I have ever picked up, tied only with Halo for the PC, your sense of winning the hardest missions more than makes up for it. In terms of storyline, it is an epic tale that didn't need Jak3 to complete it. In terms of storyline, voice acting, characters, and the variety of scenery, it is the best in the series and totally drop-kicks TPL and Jak3 out the window.

Some Pros and Cons Include:
PROS - excellent graphics for its time, an epic storyline that rivals anything R&C puts out and even the Halo series, colorful and unique characters that will make more than a few fangirls squeal in joy, a large variety of scenery and levels, and a new breed of terror, Metal Heads.

CONS - the Metal Heads, despite all their unmistakable awesomness, rather remind the player of the Covenant from the Halo series; some missions are insanely hard with few or no checkpoints, and the sudden turn from friendly to gritty may switch off fans of TPL.

I say - those fans of TPL can stop complaining. This game has a T rating for a very good reason, so don't pick it up expecting to be able to play it with your eight-year-old. The storyline alone will keep fans and newcomers alike glued to the screen, determined to beat a mission to see what new information will turn up next. Don't overlook this PS2 beauty, for without a doubt, it is one of the PS2's crowning glories. What is interesting is what a huge fan base each male character has, even one of the key villains, and it makes perfect sense. At least Naughty Dog stepped away from the cliche "he's-evil-so-he's-ugly" standard for male villains, at least until Jak3...

And don't do what I did and get Jak3 first, then TPL, then JakII, then JakX. It gets kind of confusing!

I like this game because it was more edgier (Jak and Daxter was a bit too rated E for me) and I liked the guns. I was excited when I first heard about it and even more excited when I got it for Christmas. Though some missions frustrate me they're all relatively easy (after you die a few times). The downside would probably be because it ended so shortly. But there's plenty of drama and decieving. Gatta love it

wow this game is like the best game ever ive been playing it for 8 hours straight and only got 16 percentage done thats what i call a long game.
i like the sound a lot too also the sound effects are very good andthe storyline is the best story for a video game in my life i loved it. to replay it thats great its really fun to see what u missed and how easier it is from before ur'll be like wow im so stuped that was easy why do i think it was hard before...... i love the fact that you can steal hover ship things and this time u have weapons that are so awesome!!!!! the missions are very hard but some of the racing ones are very hard like the one where u have to get to a garage thing and hey time u which is also very very very hard lol! well overall this is a best game i took away 1 star from overall because at times it gets very very hard plus im only ten give me so much presurre... lol!! well this is the best game now one more thing dont go continuning to read other reviews just go buy it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jak and Daxter, was created seriously and beautifully. A great
concocion! and in this game, not only you get profanity, you get
crude humor, strong character designs, and even strong violence.
Jak X Combat Racing is probably due October, 25th.

This game is not perfect but it's the best platforming game of all time. A lot of people are comparing it to the Ratchet and Clank series but they're not that similar; they both are platformers and they both have weapons. The real differance is that the R&C series focus is mainly on weapons; Jak II only has 4 weapons. The emphasis is not on them but they're necesary to complete the game. The story is extremely top notch and for a platform game, that's saying a lot. It also takes a lot of emphasis from games like GTA and Tony Hawk. They give a hover board less than half way through the game and you can do a bunch of tricks with it. You can also steal hover vehcles, which you need to for a few missions.

The game also does have a few problems, like the difficulty. The game is hard, i'm not docking points for it being hard but the difficulty is extrememly inconsistent. The game uses a mission based format. The first few missions are simple enough and they won't take you many tries to beat; but all of a sudden they will throw a mission that seems almost impossible till you try it a few dozen times. Then the next mission will be extremely easy. This happens throughout the game. The only other real issue I had with it is that you can't strafe. You can't move side to side like you can in R&C. It can be pretty frustrating at times.

On a 10 scale, I'd give it a 9; on a 5 scale, i'd give it a 4.

ok say whatever you like jak 2 is an awesome title. its bigger in scope than the original has way better graphics and finally ACTION. the first jak and daxter had no action at all compared to this action packed seqeul. the storyline is also quite strong as well. after suffering a fallout of eco. jak and daxter land on a big city. furthermore jak is knocked out sent to a security facility and is experemeinted on with dark eco for the next two years. and daxter trys to find him. so jaks body is fllooded with dark eco. after you break out of the prizon. you will be in haven city. a hub city world connected by several unbelivelably extrodinarily huge playing passages. little green skull heads on doors indicate a useful advance in the story. behind the door is a characther who will assign missions for you. the first characther you meet is torn. jak 2 is not the happy happy cheerful platformer it was last year either. jak is darker but not extremely angry i geuss hes more of a paranoid rachet from rachet and clank. daxter stll lends humor to the game on some occasions though the humor will be quite gritty. theres obvious relations here to gta. however this game is still far from gta theres no blood no sexaul assault or anything. you do steal veichles like gta though. theres tons of veichles to steal. and jak 2 presents you with three options. either go about with the mission mess with the crimson gaurds my favirote option or steal a veichle and go for a joyride. jak is not a maniac either hes usaully calm cool and collected. jak dosent talk too much but he talks and thats an improvement over the first. one place where jak 2 is very strong is gameplay. in this game youll get aceess to 4 new guns a hoverboard a mech suit theres tons of gaurds lying around to beat up. there are skating and racing rouns think speedways. jak 2 just has so much to do in it it offers an incredible vareity of gameplay. not even to metion the regular missions or the veichle jaking. you are still required to collect power cells but this never becomes as tedious as it was in jak 1. jak 2 is also impressive in its graphics. you are in citys forests and vistas so big. with so much color and scope. youll simply wonder how naughty dog takes the time to make everything look as excellent as it does. the graphics slowdown ocasionaly but its forgiveable. especially when consedering the massive scope of the city. unbeleivably huge so much bigger than jak and daxter. despites its gta inspired gameplay. jak 2 still shares quite a bit in common with its predecessor. its still got platforming characthers beautifal graphics all the same moves precusor orbs. even if you hate gta you gootta check out jak 2. if jak 2 isnt platformer of the year i will eat this computer.

jak 2 is the best game ive ever played. the graphics are as good as final fantasy x-2. the playing areas are drasticaly bigger. and the best part is the game is so much more mature than the original. but jak is not the evil heartless bastard many people would have you beleive. he talks this time around and i had the privelege of some very good diaulouge. when jak speaks he often dosent sound quite angry. he sounds somewhat controlled. and the reason he fights is only to defend himself from the crimson gaurds. the problem people who dont like him in this game have. is that they want a barney like characther in there game. but so on with the reveiw. jak and daxter can obtain so many previously unseen weapons and items in this game. the game includes 4 guns a hoverboard and lots of boss gaunlet rounds. even races and a tank challenge early on that was super tough. yet i found out time after time i could beat things if i just set my mind to it and i did. jak 2 is also a much MUCH longer game than the original. the average player should beat it in about 30 or even more hours. so hardcore gamers listen up just because the first was easy it dosent mean the second one is. and for everybody else well just set your mind to it. jak 2 receives a teen rating for strong langauge gun usuage and sexaul humor. so parents just look on the box next time instead of getting shocked and then writing a reveiw about it. jak 2 is the best game ever the only game that could possibly be better is jak 3. oh i cant imigane what theyll do for that one.

jak 2 is the best, I know it may have things on here that relates from other games, but thats what makes it all the more better to play, you do missions like grand theft auto, steel air ships from people, kill anybody you want, have guards after you like in grand theft auto, the guns are sweet, the graphics are amazing, funny at the same time. I do have to warn people, it is much harder than the first, MUCH harder. I got 17 hrs on my game and I'm only 64% of the game done. and when you get to certain point in the game, you get a hover board, its called something else but I can't remember, so you can just ride that thing instead of a ship, it has the same map in the bottom right hand corner like grand theft auto. it is just alot more fun then the first and I can not beleive I'm saying this but I also have ratchet and clank going commando and that game rocks, but jak 2, is better, waaaaayyyyyy better. you run into puzzles, racing, quick thinking challenges. I would say get this game casue it will be worth itand it is 10 times better than the first and better than ratchet and clank going commando.

i was so exited when i got this game. the gameplay is awesome, the graphics are amazing and its just plain old fun!! choose from 4 differend weapons and lots of differend hovercrafts to fly worth the $$ ***GREAT GAME***

There back and better than ever. in this new and improved sequel you get guns, zoomers at your disposal, guns, dark powers, more guns, titan suit, and more guns!!! Also it got game of the year in PSM and a bunch of other awesome ratings! Any one who likes plastation will love the new adventure of Jak and Daxter.

P.S. you can get codes and play as Daxter in this one!!
