Great game, but needs something...

This is definitely the best DBZ game to come to the US so far. The graphics are perfect, the voices are great, the customization and various modes of play are fantastic. I just couldn't get a feel for the controls, though.

The fighting was fast and furious, but it was also very repetitive and sometimes very frustrating when the controls didn't respond. They should make another one exactly like this with more of a Dead Or Alive control scheme. And for Chrissakes, allow the characters to JUMP!

The special moves are activated by doing specific combo attacks. These attacks are cool for awhile, but the more complicated ones are EXTREMELY difficult to pull off. I say wait for the next game and in the meantime, pick up Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 or DOA 3.

As a person, i could easily say, it is good buy it. even though once in a while the game is not true to the show (i should know, i watch it every day!) and the characters don't look the way they do in the show at points ( it looks cooler when they change them!) I can honestly say, if you are a true gamer this game is sure to put a smile on your face. :)

When I was at the mall with my friends, at first, I was a bit skeptical about buying this game due to some reviews. I asked some of the employees, but they said it was alright, so I decided to buy it. When I ripped it open, and put it in my PS2, I was hooked. Sure the Graphics may be "average," but the gameplay and storyline are amazing. I happened to know what was going on because I am a fan of DBZ, so I had no problems with that. I liked being able to turn super saiyan and stuff related to the anime series. One of the best parts of playing this game was the vs. mode with my friends. This game makes it feel alright if you lose unlike some other games where you get frustrated. My only complaint was that it had less than great graphics and it didn't go further than the cell saga. So basically you will beat the storyline in about a day's worth of playing. Overall, I recommend this game if you are familiar with DBZ, want a good vs. mode, and don't care about graphics. Overall, a very good game

I have just gotten this game a little less than a month and been playing it every day. Though, it contains some violence on there, not a great suggestion for the little kids.

Even if you never watch the series, there's a STORY mode that you can play to get some understanding of the story itself.

Graphics are quite well. Very similar to the original cartoon. Though, there was a glitch in the story mode, the part where Goku and Captain Ginyu had a body exchange. If you (Captain Ginyu) lose the battle with the fake Goku, once the new battle start (continue), the voices of Captain Ginyu and fake Goku are not swapped, which should have been. But not a big problem.

Sound effect is ok. Nothing much to comment over it.

Overall, it's a great game. Though, you need to complete the World Tournaments to get enough money to buy yourself the 7th Dragonball. :)

THIS GAME STILL [is bad]! Y you ask?
NOTHING NEW!! WHO THE HECK CARES ABOUT ALL NEW FEATURES?! I HATE DBZ/GT/REGULAR. If your a fan you might now be disapointed..BUT FOR A GUY WHOS JUST LOOKING FOR A FIGHTING GAME THEN CHECK THIS ONE OUT OF YOU MIND!!! I hear this "O dragonballz is so cool!" "O are you gonna buy Budokai?" "Hey i just got BUDOKAI" "This game is EXCELLENT!"
:/ I really hate games dat dont have a point of value but tekken or something. I dunno ur not my life.
Just dont get this game unless you want to know how stupid it is or Just another hyped dragonball fan.
Thou this is so far the best dragonball game.. Its still boring since the Dragonball series is just plain boring.

dragonball z budokai for the playstaion 2 system is the best dbz game they ever made,besides final bout.

I Love this game and DragonBallZ. If they make a Budokai 2
it might be The Majin Buu Saga to the Kid Buu Saga. DragonBallZ
is so cool that it is and looks better that DragonBallGT the next
series.
