If you've played the first one you'll remember how very repetitious it was. Well DC2 Still has the levels you need to get through to proceed but there is storyline between levels and more modivation to finish them. The graphics are also much better, very final fantasy like. The story line is good, the characters were well designed and the towns are huge. I'm very addicted.
It's great!

I played the first Dark Cloud before this and really liked it. If you ignore the endless dungeons, it's not so bad. I was more mad at how long it took to build up a single weapon and I had about six to build up at a time. I've really only just started playing Dark Cloud 2, but I'm already seriously into it. I'm past the first dungeon and I've already built up my wrench twice. Besides that, the scenery is beautiful and the music is great (for the most part). I can already tell that this is much better than the last one.
Better than the original!

Dark Cloud two fixes all the flaws of Dark Cloud, the dungeons no longer seem tedious, and there are actual voices for the characters. The best part is taking photographs to use in the new invention system, which allows you to create extremely powerful weapons. The worst parts of the game are the bosses. They are way to easy, and somwhat disapointing after battling through all the dungeons. The georama system is even better. It allows you build the town then travel 100 years into the future to see what the town became. Overall an addicting game!
Great fun, but a little...slow.

Dark Cloud 2 is a lot of fun and has great graphics. The graphics aren't nearly as good as FFX but its still really cool. The battle system hasn't changed at all from the first game, but instead of six characters to fight with you only have two, a robot, and some badge things that turn you into creatures. The storyline is good and keeps you interested to find Max's mother and help Monica save the future. The game is a bit slow and some things could probably have been excluded from the game and it would have been just as good if not better, but overall it's a great game that draws you in until the very end.

This is one of the best sequels I have ever seen. It takes rpg's to the next level, allowing you to invent items and build your own villages. Easily the best rpg I have ever owned. I recommend this game to anyone looking for an extremely deep intricate game that will keep you playing for well over 100 hours.

I really enjoyed playing this game. I do have Dark Cloud and I'd have to say there is just a little bit of connection btwn the 2 games. This one seems to stand on it's own. Instead of having the tons of characters you could play w/ in the 1st Dark Cloud you only have 2, Monica and Max. Yet these characters allow you to have multiple functions. Like Monica can weild a sword and has the magic band, so instead of having just 1 function in Dark Cloud for each character they have 2. Now here's the special part. These 2 characters also have what you would call 'sub-characters.' Monica can turn into various monsters using badges that you obtain throughout the game and Max uses this robot you can upgrade throughout the game as well. There is still the georama thing, only this time it's slightly different. Instead of the 1 character being the only character to grab the item, both can. This makes more sense anyways. They still deal w/ the stones, the moon, and a magical deep dark villian. *If you beat

This game deals with a man who is affecting time and space from the past and you need to fix all of the problems that arise. It has 50 hours of gameplay easily and you are allowed to build many things in different ways. I would reccomend it for practically all gamers.

A diffrent game I may say, still has some of the attributes of the first but over all great game but I must complain about the inventions it kinda makes it hard to play the game if you don't do that side game, And it is hard to get the pictures don't always know what you may need and the missable pictures aren't too helpful when you want what they can invent you but don't find out till later.
I Love this game

Dark Cloud 2 is even better than Dark Cloud 1. There are lots of side quests and the leveling up of your weapons is great. I'm 60+ hours into it and already anticipate a Dark Cloud 3 in the future.
Sweet graphics, simulation and RPG dungeon crawling all in one

This is a game that tried to combine elements of some other successful games and make something between .hack, simulations you play on PC (Sim City) and Diablo . I loved graphics, dungeon crawling is nice, but
-you must read guide for good progress
-there is no chemistry after two levels, all seems repetitive
-there are better games you can get for Sony 2, more amusing
so this is for people who played all RPGs and want more...I loved it in the beginning but it seems now too demanding and less rewarding and story is too slow, with battles too repetitive .
