This is an excellent game. Not only will it provide you with countless hours of gameplay (well, actually about 120+ hours), the game remains interesting so that you will want to keep playing for those hours. Plus, the game can be different each time you play, due to 'Houses', of which you may only join one per game. This game has almost no guidelines. You can kill who you want, take most of what you want, and go as far as you can see. This is a game that had it cost $50 instead of $30, I still would have purchased. The storyline of this game is intriguing, taking a whole new path, one not tread on by past games. The graphics are good, but not something to write home about. Sound effects are about the same as the graphics, average. But what sets this game apart from otthers is the fun factor and replay value. I have played through the game, and I would gladly play through it once more.
Technically, this game does not have an end. Once you beat the main quest, you are able to continue playing, performing freelance missions or whatever it is that you would like. If you have access to the internet, you are able to download mods (modifications) for the game, which can do anything from adding creatures and quests, to adding giant mansions.
Final Word: This game is great.

I originally purchased this game almost a year ago and yet I still regularly find myself playing it, after completing the main quest there are seemingly countless side quest waiting for you. The replay value of this game is absolutely amazing. Firstly the game world is huge. When you first begin the game and start wandering around you will be shocked to realize just how large this world is. The diversity within this game is also great, no two areas feel the same and the overall land changes greatly from swamps, to forests, to volcanoes, to cities. Additionally the graphics in this game still look great even after being on the shelf for several years. If your looking for something to take care of your freetime this is the game.

Ill preface this by saying this game is definatly not for everyone. I read one reviewer say the battle interface is cumbersome. He/she probably did not realize that "battle" is kind of an illusion and in reality its based on a traditional rpg "roll" and really does not have much to do with how you are controlling your character. I made that same error in the beginning. Also if you like games to be very linear like fps you'll probably hate this game. The main quest does exist but its a little ambiguous and does not force you along on tracks like most games do. Its more of a game of exploration rather than anything else. It also takes a little imagination, there are no fireworks or anything after achieving a quest or making an accomplishment which will leave some thinking "what was the point". The environment is painstakingly detailed. I actually found my self watching the sun rise over the ocean at one point. Also some people say you move too slow. This i dont uderstand as there are many ways to travel other than walking. The walking/running speed is fine for the short distances you need to. If you are walking across the whole continent then yeah its slow but you dont need to do that. Overall a great game imo and highly recommended, especially for those with older systems.

Buy this game! I bought this game because I wanted Oblivion but my computer cannot handle this. My laptop has an Intel Pentium 4 processer, 256MB ram, Ati Radeon 7500 graphics and runs Morrowind great. If you want to buy Oblivion buy this instead. It is exactly like Oblivion with a little lower end graphics and storyline. The game runs smoothly and plays great. This game is a very well designed opened ended RPG. Buy the game of the year edition, it comes with 2 expansion packs and an unuseful mod making set. I could never make a mod with the construction set.
The land is vast and I spent many hours playing this game. The features are plentiful also. You can move your sword in many different ways and there are many spells to buy. There is all kinds of weapons, amour, and other items available to buy in the game. Fighting is fun and realtiviely simple. This game is easy to learn but takes skill to finish. There are guilds to join in this game like the fighters guild, mages guild, and the thieves guild. This games is not an online game though. There are also lots of quest you may do. In conclusion buy this game!

I know this review will probably only be found helpful by about two people out of two hundred, but in my opinion, Morrowind isn't all it's cracked up to be.
To me, an enjoyable RPG has to have a lavishly detailed, continuous world; an innovative and nonlinear storyline that includes lots of side quests; a variety of characters and monsters to encounter; and of course, a good skill and leveling system.
Morrowind falls sadly short of my expectations in one way: the game doesn't feel...alive. It actually feels more like a Windows productivity app than a good-old-fashioned RPG, especially with all the mouse-clicking for inventory commands. Also, the speech system was efficient, but I felt like I was talking to...well, a computer, actually - who was instantly spitting out strings of information. This is mostly due to the fact that no time at all is taken for NPCs to speak. Whatever they say is instantly added to a little speech text box on the screen.
But UI gripes aside, the game world itself felt artificial and lifeless. Try playing Gothic II for an hour or two and then switching to Morrowind. You'll see exactly what I mean.
I'm sorry, Morrowind die-hards, but I must recommend Gothic II over Morrowind. One hour of Gothic II is more fulfilling than one day of Morrowind adventuring.

Morrowind is a great game! The story (you pretty much decide what it is) is awesome! I love it. The one down part is the loading is longer that average but it's worth the wait. I like how I can be any race I want. BUY THIS GAME

Great rpg, very vast and many things to explore.
Too bad it's only focused on single player.
If you're looking for a great single-player rpg experience, this title is for you.
If you want to also play multiplayer, you're probably better off avoiding this one.
Totally immersive

I loved this game's ability to totally immerse one in a fantasy world like few RPGs have done. The scope and scale of the game is incredible. A character has so many choices or paths to take in this game that it rarely leaves one uninterested. The only down-side would be if someone prefers a more hack-n-slash type game and likes to quickly progress through the game, they might be fustrated. This game really takes time and exploring and searching can be exasperating due to the size of the game. If you enjoy steady character development, freedom of movement and choice, this game really is in a class by itself.
OMGOSH! Get this game!

You N'wah!
If you don't own Morrowind, get this one with the 2 expansion packs.
HUGE world! So much to explore so much to do. Dungeon crawling galore!
There is the main story quest, and there are seemingly millions of branch quests. There are many different guilds you can join. Do jobs for them in different cities across the world and watch your rank in those organizations increase. There is no way you can be in all the guilds, because often times, they are against each other, do something for one guild, and the other one is pissed at you.
There are several different outcomes depending on what you do and where.
There are unique races and unique swear words!
