A good game ruined by a greed!

Not much to say really apart from I've been playing this game for over two years and now it has been ruined by poor management decisions by a company that doesnt care for it's existing customers.

The NGE (New game enhancements) was sprung upon the loyal subscribers with two weeks notice. To cut a long story short, all that anyone had ever worked for with their characters was made worthless.

Bugs, laggy servers, poor customer support, and a development team that doesnt listen to its players are the hallmarks of this game.

A great game ruined.

I loved this game, and was online almost every day for 2+ years... then they announced the NGE. They have introduced a simplified version (AKA Star wars galaxies for dumies). The profession choices have been reduced from 32, down to like 12, that is including crafting. The new combat system is point and click, and is lagged majority of the time even with high speed = not fun. I tried the new system out as a commando, but 90% of the commando weapons are bugged. This game is bugged, please do not waste your life/time on this game like I did for two years.

Many other issues and problems... but read the swg forums for those details. Wish I could get my time I wasted on this game back. Please dont fall into the trap, just because the game has Star Wars written on it... Darth Vader looks like an angel compared to the customer service they have.

I started to play this game on April 2006.

Graphics looks ok and character customisation is good.

Customer Service is horrible. They mostly can't help you with issues that you got.

The Ingame support tells you to contact the live chat, live chat tells you to contact the ingame support.

Less content and quests in comparision with World of Warcraft or Citiy of Vaillins for example.

They revamp the combat system with the Publish 29 update and so you have to re-learn the combat system again. (which is the 4th time as far as I know)

This game was released in 2003. We got 2006 and this game still seems to be in alpha phase.

Sony Online Entertainement: This product is a truly Evidence of Incapacity.

I canceld my subscription and went back to World of Warcraft.

My advise: Take a 10 mile space to this game.

This game went from one of the best games that i have ever played, to the worst game i have ever played. Sony has the worst customer service anyone has ever seen. They treat their customers like pieces of dog poo. Don't let them abuse you, avoid this game like you avoid your ex girlfriend!

They pushed 2 complete revamps in 6 months. Promised updates to professions they removed completely. Screwed all crafters. Screwed all vets who have invested countless hours and hundreds of dollars into their game. They have terrible customer service and buying this game is basically like supporting hitler or funding terrorism in my opinion. Sony Online Entertainment should be ashamed of themselves not jsut for screwing EVERYONE who ever loved this game but for releasing a game in its alpha state at the very best to the public then advertising for it to attract new suckers. You cant even get over level 31 at the moment!!

DONT BUY THIS GAME.

Curse the publishers of SWG for bowing at the alter of the almighty dollar. At this very moment I can't understand why they would take such a richly detailed game and dumb it down to a mere console game! Whats next? Some bright and shining star might come up with the idea that a FPS might be even more lucrative and here we go again. I for one am canceling my subscription because the game has become a ghost town! Whole citys and guilds that took YEARS to build are gone! All for what? And a warning to all the new players don't buy the upgrades to this game unless you certain things will remain the same after they take your money! All those who paid good mone for the Trials of Obi Wan know what I am talking about. They take your cash and wait until the very next day after everything is bought and paid for to announce they are changing the game entirely! Slick move you money grubbing fools! This is all my personal opinion of this product and the publisher of this product. All those who buy....I warned you.

This game has been completely ruined in attempt to gain new customers. Look at gamespy, gamespot, stratic.com or any other gaming site and look at the polls they are taking, they do not lie. If you want a good starwars game buy Battlefront 2. If you want starwars games better then this one buy anything in the $5 bin at wally world

This game used to be bad a$$, untill sony recently did a total revamp to try and keep up with competition. Only thing they did was kill the game, and loose a massive chunk of their playerbase. They tried to make a MMORPG into a 1st person shooter, that still acts like a RPG. I highly suggest you dont get this.

This is the farthest thing from an MMORPG as you can get, horrible combat system, awkward movement, terrible user interface, and completly bugged. You are paying to alpha test this game, it is not even ready for beta yet. It is just plain bad.
