Dying a horrible death

It had a lot of originality when it came out 2.5 years ago. Now it's trying to be a cookie cutter and a dumbed down game. Don't play this. Don't give your money to SOE. Run far. Run fast.

If you don't believe me, how about all the rest of thier players?

SOE ruined this game!

The New Game Enhancements introduced ruined one of the best MMORPG's on the market. It is now just an ill conceived first person shooter with no direction. They removed over 20 professions from the game and the interface is now unusable. All the servers are ghost town now and there is a mass exodus from the game. I do NOT recommend this game!!!!

Good news... SOE is actually discussing bringing back the pre nge game.

The impact SWG has had, has been intense and they are panicking yet again.

Bad news... they are paying little to no attention to the fan forums... they are taking their cue, only from the subscriber amounts. So unfortunately, if everyone wants pre nge back, they need to click the cancel subscription. it is a scary option I know, but most people know, that if you cancel , you character remain intact in case you resubscribe.

More bad news...

The game may be closed. Come next february or march, they may be closing SWG. The official word came through that SWG has new goals, and if it doesnt reach that goal, either through NGE or PRE NGE roll back... Good bye SWG.

Some decent news... the devs really are working on alot of revamps to this game. And honestly , when they complete phase 6 of the NGE update (if the game lasts that long... the game will be completely different from what it is now.

As many know, it will be collision detected.

There will be missions for every level.

The professions are being givens choices, like trader has now. IE - jedi can do level 1-70, and then choose whether to go light or dark.

The combat engine is being improved.

And they are working on alot of ways to change the views for battle, including having your character non npc's become partially transparent will you are engaged in battle.

Player cities will be nerfed, even more than they are now. The limits as to how much land you can have based on city members, is going to decrease alot.

Also the game is not finished by means, there is no content after level 30, so how are you going to level up to 90? Who knows when they will put that content in?

In reality, would you trust a company that just steam rolls over everything people have worked hard on over the last 2 years and totally ignores its customers? I certainly wouldn't. My advice to anyone that even thinks of buying SWG, dont! If you want some starwars gaming this christmas, buy Battlefront 2 or something else. Anything but Galaxies, Stay away!

Worst piece of garbage ever to be pushed to a live server. Do yourself a favor and move on. Game is boring buggy, and laggy.

Don't buy this game. It is glitchy and still in beta-phase. The developers are on a mission to put themselves out of work. They don't listen to their player base and only do what they want to do.

If you value your money or your sanity do not buy this game.

NGE destroyed SWG

If you are a big Star Wars fan and like simplistic child like games, and you start a new game every month...this game is for you.

If on the other hand you are a big Star Wars Fan and want to live the real Star Wars Experience, then you are too late. The Developers of the game destroyed the old game and released what they call New Game Enhancements to the old game, essentially ruining the economy, forcing master jedi to use rifles to compete with other classes, and chasing all the 3 yr veterans of the game away with lies, deceipt and false promises.

This game is not worth the hassle...

The game is not the entire problem - the customer service provided by SOE is horrible and they do not deserve new paying customers as they cannot even take care of the customers they already have. As for the game, The combat is a ridiculous mess with no ability to target your enemy (being touted as an MMORPG yet it is an FPS combat system)Server lag is terrible even for the best systems on the fastest connections due to the fact that SOE does not know how to maintain their servers - and the lag has NOTHING at all to do with server population as all servers populations are below average at this point. They have gotten rid of all of the interesting aspects of the game and in turn made it into a console type shooter game with some "Star Wars content for dummies" in the first 30 levels. After that its the same content-lacking game only now there really IS nothing to do. Really, purchasing this game is like purchasing a ticket for a trip on the Titanic AFTER it already sank....

Star wars Galaxies is cheap! This game is a online game and you go online and you PAY TO PLAY!!! It stinks I will never play the game agen.

For 1.5 years this was an OK Game that needed some touchup... Then, over the past year, Developers have ruined everything that made it special.

Now, until they roll back this is an embarassment

If you are looking for a fun experience in the Star Wars realm may I refer you to the Battlefront or Knights of the Old Republic series'. This game is horrible in it's new "NGE" incarnation and I would liken playing it to getting motion sickness while going to the dentist.

Move along nothing to see here.
