I am totally excited that the old Nintendo64 Mario game (the best Mario Bros. game ever) is coming to DS which I'm hoping and wishing and praying that my parents will buy me for Christmas! I think this game rocks because you can hop into painting which take you to other worlds, collect golden stars, skate on a turtle shell through molten lava, and defeat three King Koopas (Bowsers) to save Princess Peach Toadstool.
I just hope that it's the same as the N64!

Super Mario 64 DS a good game , but not as good as the original.

I got this game as a brithday gift, and let me tell you I was even more so excited about this portable game than a console game. I was kind of disapointed with it because it didn't have as many new worlds to play in as I would have hoped. But for the most part it's very good game. I recommend it, and that's saying quite a bit. So buy it and enjoy it! And after your done with it, enjoy it some more. Be a customer not a consumer!

Great game, just get already!!!

I got this game today with a blue DS, It's cool, fun and a bit challenging! But I also like all the mini-games it has too(you need a relaxing break after defeating a boss!) here is my checklist...

Graphics-5 out of 5(look a tad bit better than the 64's)
Gameplay-4 out of 5 because it can get confusing and fustrating
overall-I like it as a gamer(and hardcore mario,nintendo fan)

this is off topic but.. Why are people writing reveiws that nintendogs will come out on PSP! I have a PSP, a game like that
just wouden't work out like it would on the DS. what would they
call it, PSPuppies? LOL!

the classic 64 and more

there is so much to do in this game and fun using different characters other than mario. at first the controls were confusing but once you get use to it, the game is a blast. There are many stars to collect and secret stars to find. Many missions in a small cartiage makes this game worth its value. It does get repetitive once you collect over 100 stars, but still fun. Recommended as a game you should get for DS.

The game is fun and the graphics are like the Nintendo 64.Only that in this you can use Wario,Yoshi,Mario and Luigi. You have to unluck them. You start with Yoshi.Read this tip:To unluck Mario you have to go to the back of Yoshi's room.To unlock Luigi you have to go to Big Boos Haunt and go to the balcony and enter Luigi's painting. And to unluck Wario you have to use Luigi in the Mirror Room and be invicible so you can pass through the mirros and enter Wario's painting. For more info. you can e-mail me,I know everything about Nintendo games and Playstation games. My e-mail is:jeancarlo@libertypr.net

Super Mario 64 DS is a great game, but with a few disapointments. In the game Luigi gets no credit what so ever. (This complaint was also seen in multiple reviews) When you play as Luigi, and you talk to Toad, he says something like: "Who are you? Oh yes, you are Luigi. I did not recognize you at first because you are always living in Mario's shadow. Do me a favor, please stay out of Mario's way because he is on a very important mission to get all the stars back that were stolen by Bowser." I find this very disapointing, because in my opinion, Luigi is the most useful character in the game. He can run on top of water, he has a kick similar to Yoshi's, and when he does a backflip he spins around in the air, so he's up for even longer and can travel farther.

Overall, this game is a great game, definatly 5 stars, but I just wish that Luigi was given more credit...

Exceptional Game!

I have never played the original Mario 64 before, but I heard this was probably the greatest game made for the DS and I can see why! The excellence of the graphics, sound, and realistic physics make this game a huge hit. It is unbelieveably fun and addicting, and will have you playing non-stop for hours! The mini-games also definitely make the game worthwhile. Very slight lack of control without analog sticks, but the touch screen can make up for that. There aren't any glitches as far as I can tell. Overall, Very fun game for the whole family. I recommend it for young and old.

If you have a Nintendo DS, get this game!

I just got a Nintendo DS a few weeks ago, along with this game. It is really, really, really fun! If you liked Super Mario 64, then you will love this game! And instead of just being able to be Mario, you can also be Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi! There are 30 more stars than the Nintendo 64 version, yep, that means there are 150 stars! There is also 36 mini-games(which you will love if you like the Mario Party series) which you unlock by catching rabbits. And if are you wondering how there are 30 more stars, I'll tell you. There is one more star in every world, and 15 more secret stars! Since 8 stars in each world times 15 worlds is already 120 stars, plus 30 secret stars, that's 150 stars. So if you get or have a Nintendo DS, get this game!
