Fun and tricky game!!!!!!!!!

I got this game for X-Mas. When I first played it , it only took me about 5 min. to get used to the controls. In my title, I put that it was tricky. Why you ask? There are 2 hidden stars around the castle. And also to get new mini-games you must catch the quick rabbits. One thing I don't get is how you beat the 5th level on the bomb-bomb course. Well that's enough of me talking about it, You go try it yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Mario Game is Great!

This game is great because you can draw pictures and annimate them. You can challenge other DS owners which is fun. You can gamble and play cards. Their is a certain game I don't like. But all in all this game is great. Must buy! Reccomened!

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I never played the origanal before this , so this was my first mario 3D game (except for Super Mario Sunshine, which was boring, hard, and empty) I beat it 2 days after I got it, so it is kind of easy, but you never get tired of bowser's moan of defeat. I AM SO GLAD I GOT IT FOR CHRISTMAS!!! I recomend this game to all players, cause if you don't like adventure you'll love the mini games!!

A Great Game

Mario 64 ranks as one of my all-time favorite game experiences of my life. And this port is even better than the original. Four characters and tons of minigames, not to mention all-new levels and new goals in old levels, mean this game offers even more bang for players new to the game than the original did. As for me I played the living daylights out of the N64 version so this one got old fairly quickly, but it still kept me playing to 150 stars (and I had fun doing it), and it's got me still coming back periodically to improve on coin totals and minigame scores. The minigames are really good by the way.

The only possible drawback to this version is the lack of an analog stick. The N64 analog stick was designed specifically to play Mario 64 believe it or not, but this system has nothing so designed for this game. So you have to make do with one of three control schemes. Please, PLEASE for your own sake learn to control this with the touch screen. The game is so much better with analog control rather than holding a button to run and using the standard 8 directions. I use Dual-Hand mode using the stylus in my right hand. Believe me it took some time getting used to, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT learning the touch-screen control scheme. And I had a lot of fun while learning the control scheme, since so many stars in so many stages are so easy to get that you don't need perfect grasp of the game's controls.

Like I said, since I had played Mario 64 so much before, it did get a bit old. But it was still a very fun experience. Mario 64 is the best thing on DS except possibly Kirby's Canvas Curse (play it!!! you'll like it :) ) And in my case, the lack of an analog stick just added to the fun, since learning a new control scheme added challenge to stages that, for a Mario 64 veteran, would have been too easy.

BEST DS GAME SO FAR!

I own the original N64 game, and I have to say, the DS version is better. It's awesome to play a classic in a new way, in any place (well, assuming you're not underwater, etc...). I was amazed at the feel controlling with the stylus brings. It felt awesome to race Koopa again and all of that. Much better than filth like Star Wars Ep.III: Revenge of the Sith.

I love Super Mario 64 DS and I would recommend it to anyone, grandparent, child, or adult. Some reviewers say that it's not as good as the original, or that it's too easy. Well, I agree, the original was better but the creators were trying to add a little twist to Super Mario 64 when they created it. Also, this game is just as challenging as any other if you didn't beat the original version, and don't know where everything is. I have the game for Nintendo 64 and DS, and both are awesome!!! Take it from me, THIS GAME IS THE BEST!!!

this game is awsome you get to play as wario luigi yoshi and the famous mario you get to do all the levels you do in super mario 64 on the older nintendo 64 you also get to use power flowers to give each character a speical ability luigi turns ivisable mario turns into a puffy flying ball wario turns medal and yoshi has fire breath the only bad part in this game is that once you get 85 stars the game gets kinda boring but you still want to beat the game soooo bad

i hope this review helped you i dont want to tell you to much or it wont be worth buying the game

must play!!!!

Once again, Nintendo has used its endless supply of marquee mascots to launch a new system...and once again Nintendo has re-released one of their classic games as a launch title; I would be severely disappointed at Nintendo by now if these rehashed games weren't so damn great. If you didn't know by now, Super Mario 64 DS is a faithful port of the classic Super Mario 64, which was released back in 1996. After almost a decade, Mario 64 still stands as the standard for all 3D platforms on any console to date; if you think games like Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank and even Banjo-Kazooie rival or best the ingenuity of Mario 64, then you have been completely mistaken: Those games are great because they used Mario 64's blueprint-- they should be viewed as homages to the finest 3D platformer ever, and that's that. Mario DS takes the graphics and gameplay of the 1996 classic and adds a fresh coat of paint to them. This time around, players control not only Mario but Yoshi, Wario and Luigi as well. While this approach could have been a short-lived novelty by all accounts, it succeeds by utilizing different attributes to each character a la Super Mario Bros. 2-- Mario is well-balanced, Luigi can jump higher than the other characters, and Yoshi is much more sprightly that his counterparts. Wario, on the other hand, is a sluggish oaf who makes up for his shortcomings with extra muscle-- the addition of these character attributes adds more depth and replay to a game that was never lacking in either department in the first place.
