this is the game for Lord Of Da Rings hardcore fans, not video gamers.
If you're looking for something that'll last a while...

Then don't get this game. It lasts about thirty minutes on one character, and who wants to go back with a different character with basically the same abilities and do the same thing over? If you're a LOTR fanboy then go ahead, but only if you're seriously obsessed with LOTR. It lasted about 10 minutes and realizing I was going to beat it in about 20 more minutes I turned off the system and haven't touched it since.

If you want your kid to learn the "how-to's" when it comes to hacking an orc into 1000 pieces, then this is the game for you.
For kids? The hell you say.
Do your kids spend all day beating the [lights] out of each other?
Well, buy this game and see what happens. Did you actually watch the movie, or were you so busy stuffing your face with popcorn and Milk Duds, that you failed to notice that the whole movie centers around characters who cut each other's heads off and then speak in some weird tongue. This is the [worst game] i have ever played. the game is short, boring, and Gimli looks like my ex-girlfriend. Plus it reminds me of those wanna-be RPG games that are [bad] themselves, so buy the movie and play games like Final Fantasy VII.
No good game

The main problem I have with this game is the stupid camera. I'm not generally a big fan of the 3rd person games (unless they're side-scrollers or top-down), esp. when you're expected to aim at something, but this one really stinks it up because the camera angle is not consistent since they're trying to make it look cinematic. If you run back a little to regroup (e.g. in Fangorn Forest), due to "artistic" changes in camera angle, you may find yourself surrounded and unable to even see the character you're controlling. This "game" was made to be looked at, not played. If you want to fight and use cool combos, try Tekken Tag. If you want to shoot at things, go with Timesplitters 2, Silent Scope, or a Bond game. If you want a medieval fantasy fighting game, try Dark Alliance. If you want to watch a movie, watch a movie.

I was hoping for a game that ADDS to the movie, instead I GOT the movie, full with behind the scenes footage! Argg, what a waste of money. It repeats the ENTIRE movie. There is so much time wasted on the movie clips and 1/1000th of that is actual game play. Why make a game at all? There could have been so much more to it, if they took the time.
Entertaining, but lacking the epic scope of the book/movie

I played the nearly finished demo of this at this year's E3, and it certainly was a beautiful-looking game. The graphics are phenomenal and the AI of the NPCs for each level was astounding. However, it lacks the epic scope of the XBox's Fellowship of the Ring game (although that game is much to cartoony). I will certainly purchase this game, but it is too simple - merely a game of survival against repeated and furious onslaughts of enemies. I'm looking forward to the next installment, where more strategy and and expanded storyline are implemented.

I don`t have this game yet, but I know it`s going to be a major hit! I`ve seen videos of this game on it`s website, and it looks great. It mostly showed Aragorn, but the others were in a bit too. Aragorn can stab, slash, and hack his was way through enemies, and he can also turn them around and slit their throats!!! They said that Peter Jackson(the trilogy`s director)worked closely on making this game good. I also think that some of the actors did their own voices here, but I`m not sure. If you even remotely like this series, at least rent the game and try it out. It`ll be fun. There`s non-stop action. For me, I just want to see Legolas, and I`m buying this one!!!
