You do not get to fight the balrog in this game. I can't express my dissipointment for this since the Balrog was my favorite monster in the movie.

I love lord of the rings i red the books (all of them from the hobbit to the retern of the king) but if you compare it to the felloship its bad. its the same thing in every levle you fight and that gets borning after a wile. DON'T PLAY THIS GAME UNTIL YOU PLAY THE FELLOSHIP its better

I got the lord of the rings: the two towers not fellowship of the ring!!!! the majority of this game is the aragorn telling some woman about what happened in the fellowship. the graphics suck and the transitions from live action to CGI are terrible, the colors are off and the positions are off. the live actiion cut scenes are terrible too. THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

I only have to say.....The EA Sport Games usually are really boring, and the graph quality is low, I hope that they make a difference with this game.

I dont know what everyone is talking about. This game [stinks]! The graphics are horrible, there are only 3 characters to choose from and it doesn't even follow the movie. The only reason I'm giving this game 2 stars is because I like the LOTR books and movies so much....No, I'm just kidding, it's an awesome game. Go out and buy it right now if you haven't already.

very little strategy involved.
battling orcs and uruk'hai is pretty much mashing the buttons as fast, and for as long as you can.
the cut scenes and integration into the movie/storyline itself is neat, but changing the outcome would have been more fun (e.g. racing to boromir's help as he sounds his horn- what if you got there in time to rescue him and the halflings?)
one positive aspect to the game is the character development, earning experience points, advancing levels and skill is cool
A Wonderful Idea Lacking Development

I was extremely excited to play this game when I first received it. However, when I began to play, I found that it was extremely boring. Fighting. That's it. I, personally, enjoy role-playing games better than fighting games, but that's just me. I would recommend renting it, rather than buying it, or at least doing so BEFORE buying it. You may be pleased or disappointed. I guess it depends of the personality of the player.
Disappointing ...

First, the title isn't very fitting--however "Fellowship of the ring" was already taken, so I guess they had to pick something.
The game starts out where the movie "The Fellowship of the Ring" starts out, with the big battle scene against Sauron and his forces. Then it just skips from battle to battle with very little else. Yes, the graphics looks good, and the clips from the movie is neat as well, but ... I expected more of an adventure. Instead I got just another ordinary fighting game.

My gf got me this for valentines day. I opened it because I thought it might be good, but I was wrong.
It's short and easy Iplayed it for a half an hour, and I was already to level 5. Now, it usually takes me a while to get good at a game, and a lot of practice, but this game was no problem. You might think this is good thing, but its not. It means that it takes very little effort to beat it, which is bad unles your renting it. It's not any fun either. It's just killing a bunch of orcs, and litte else.
The camra viwws bad, too. I'm not sure whats wrong, but the veiw is like the one in Gauntlet, but it doesnt work out. It's a far 3rd person view.
It has very little replay value, because there's no change in charactor positions, etc. when you play it, and there's no multiplayer.
There's very little plot to it, but there's a lot of cutscenes. I dont think you can skip them, at least not on the ones I have tried, which leads to boring replay.
I cant really recomend another game because I dont play too much of this genre, but I was sorry I bought it. Just rent.

Ok, folks here it is, if you're thinking about buying this game, pick up Gauntlet Dark Legacy instead. This game is the perfect example of how video game companies will try to capitolize on anything they can get thier greedy littl hands on without putting any effort into trying to make a game that's even slightly interesting. The combat is monotonous, the levels are straight out of the first two movies, so if you've seen them, there's really nothing to motivate you to try and finish the game. The controls are unresponsive... do you need to know anything else?
