The Sims is a fun game, but it lacked that little something. Now you can have that little something, a party! The title kind of explains itself as you do have house parties and invite all your friends in the neighbourhood to take part! There are loads of extras too, like if you get a swinging party going Drew Carrey turns up to dance! And a ghost will appear when you tell a campfire story when you have a bit of charisma. There are loads of hidden "cheats" for the game too. Like if you explore your Sims files in your compter you can put your own .mp3 files into the radio stations folders and listen to your favorite music while playing the Sims! I suggest this for anyone who has thier favorite music .mp3 files on your computer (who hasn't?). This is the essential purchase for The Sims, get it as soon as possible.
Its Pretty Neat!

Its not as good as i thought it would be, but i have no regrets on buying it. I can't wait for the next expansion pack comes out, i hope that it will include more basic family type objects and themes. Like objects for kids rooms and maybe get teenagers that grow up and move, and more skin features. House party is like a wild type, i would appreciate something more tame. But the new objects included, plus the EXTRA space for more houses is good. Overall rating: 2 thumbs up!!!
ok, but kinda dissapointing

it is a great game! the downside of the game is that it is hard to have an excellent or even fun party. the caterer leaves early, the people go home early, then you sim is really tired and you wasted your time. but the new objects and skins are great, and wall paper is cool, it is a great game, but stick with the regular way of chatting between sims.
Out-of-Control AWESOME!!!!!!!

All Pro's on my computer! No Cons!
I just got this game today! It was awesome! I have been awaiting this game for over 3 weeks... checking the reviews every day! lol... pathetic, huh?
Well I bought it on the internet, so when the box came today, i ripped it open, and screamed. I was so excited!
I love this game... And i know u have probably heard all about the cons, and how the game goes really slow... even on a new computer... Well, my computer has new software, but the computer itself is old as dirt! Works just fine!
I have thrown 3 parties, one bombed... got crashed and had that mime.. urg! But the other two ended up swimming w/ celebs! It was totally awesome!
My favorite items are the disco floor, and the dance cages.. lol U can really watch the sims get their groove on! The Campfire is another one of my favorites... w/ the ghost... but u have to have a bundle of charisma points for that... Along w/ a few cool outfits... my personal fav is the one w/ the pink tiger stripes... a little outragious.. but hey!
Well... thats about the end of what i'm gonna tell u... i'll save some surprises! I have to admit... after a while u get sick of the others.. but w/ this game... every party has a new twist!
If u are considering getting this, Don't doubt it for a second... This game is a definate must for the sim-fans out there... lata!

So i decided i would buy it to complete my collection and I loved the game. It is awesome to have a party. I can't wait till the next 3 games come out. I don't know which one to get first. Anyways this game is very cool.

Don't get the wrong impression from my title. House Party is a good game; it's just the worst of the Sims expansion packs. You should definitely get this expansion pack if you want to get the most out of your Sims, but if you have a limited amount of money and want the best bang for your current buck I highly suggest getting Hot Date, Livin' Large or Vacation. However I must add that if you do get the others and plan on getting this one the expansions have to be installed in the correct order (Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation).
Basically I'm saying it's a good game but if you're choosing which expansion you want go with this one last.
Great fun, but watch out parents!

This game is a cool add-on to the Sims, but I was a little shocked at some of the material in the game. I bought the game for my twin ten year-old boys as a birthday gift, thinking it would be appropiate for them since the original Sims was.
Some things I was upset with were the dancing cages, Dancer in the Cake, hookah (which I wasn't too upset about, but it's still might upset other parents) That's all I found, but I would think twice if you're purchasing this for someone under 13.
I'm not accusing this game of being evil or anything, I think it is very fun and enjoyable, but just watch out, parents! As for the older kids, the game is "da bomb".
OK, but they could have done more...

House Party has good new objects, I won't deny that, but there didn't seem to be many new things. It seems like Maxis just wanted to hurry up and make a new game fast, instead of adding better things to it. Livin' Large and House Party could easily on been one game, but Maxis wants you to pay 30 dollars for each, which is the price for an actual game. I don't understand that, you pay 30 dollars for most computer games and you get a whole game for that! If you like The Sims then this is not a complete waste of money, but if you play it ocasionally I would not recomend it.
GET HOUSE PARTY OR GET OUT!

This game is a great add on to The Sims. Livin' Large was good, but House Party is much better. I have the game right now and I haven't stopped playing it. There is so many more objects that the Sim people can use. 80 more objects. I have loved the Sims ever since the game came out, now I love it even better. I think that a cool object is the dj booth it's so cool. This is a must buy game, its worth your money.
Is it THAT fun?

After playing the other sims games (The Sims & The Sims Livin' Large) this new expansion pack would be a sinch! There were new items, clothes, jobs, and such to pick. But there is always something wrong with a game. The Sims House Party, is EXACTLY the same game as The Sims and The Sims Livin' Large. Just new stuff. Well, at first I liked it...just like everyone else. But after a while I became bored of doing stuff with the sim, like sending him to bed or eating lunch. If you have your sim's points all filled up, it's like.....well, what now? You can play the piano or guitar real well, but....so what? I really like the game.. but if they make ANOTHER expansion pack...I recommend you DON'T get it. I hear they are making a game called The Sims Online. Well, that may be fun because your playin' with online friends. But...will it really be THAT cool? I recommend you stay with the three popular sims games and try something new. Like Black and White. Well, you choose.
