Par-Tay! (well sorta)

I just have to say that I am a HUGE fan of the sims and I have ALL the expansion packs. This one is pretty cool I must say, but has a lot of draw-backs. I'll start with the good stuff. First of all the best new function is gotta be the "throw party" option. I like that because it has a lot more social group activites such as the campfire and the bubble blower (a very cool idea by the way), but some of the stuff is just a little much, like the entertainer coming out of the cake (though quite amusing because its one thing that brings everyone together). Also it has some interesting ways to improve skills, such as mechanical bull-riding (body skill). they almost always fall off, but its a lot of fun to have around because its a huge hit with the party. Also there are a lot more music styles and a cool d.j. spinner thing. The only problem is that there is like no dj and instead of enjoying the party, the host/hostess has to spin CDs for people to dance to on this cool color-changing dance floor. But it's really hard to have a good party (well for me) and the mime almost always shows up and doesn't go away, its so annoying and just makes the party worse. Plus in order to have a party, you must have a LOT of "moolah" and a lot of space to have it in. but there are definite rewards to throwing a good party- your social rating goes up, you make new friends, you have fun and drew carey might show up if the party is REALLY good. What I don't like is that there are a limited number of like non-party items and no new jobs :( But I do like the new clothing and the funky-colored heads. You can even create a sort of teenager (not in reality, but in clothing and heads and stuff). All in all, this is a definite must have for MAJOR sim fans, but if you don't like the sims THAT MUCH (though I can't imagine why), its something that you can live without.

Another great add-on

This second expansion pack for 'The Sims' will set you off again on what is perhaps the most addictive game ever made. There are plenty of extra objects for around the house but the real focus here is on parties. Now you can throw your own party for the whole neighbourhood. Obviously doing this is risky - will your party be a success or a failure? The new party objects include a DJs booth, a dance floor, a camp fire and punch bowl among others. You can even hire a caterer to make sure everyone gets fed. And if you're really lazy a butler can now be hired to clean up after you.

If you've become bored of 'Living It Up' then this expansion pack will get you started again. Arguably the best part of the new features is that now your parties can have a theme, such as Hawaiian or Roman. The costume trunk provides some excellent fancy dress. Plus you can even get a celebrity guest drop by or, if your party's dull as ditchwater, a mime. This really is worth getting, only being outdone by 'Hot Date'.

The SIMS can party!

This is a great expanson pack for the SIMS because it adds the posibilty to have more friends and meet more people by throwing parties. Not only can the SIMS now dance they can have 'female' entertainment and much more. My favorite new item in this game is the light up disco floor and the dance cages. This is soooo much fun for almost any one. I love the SIMS and I think this is one of their best games yet.

The Best Game Ever!

This game is fantastic! You just have to admit it! My daughters and sons are in the party with the sims! I recommend if your buying one of the sims products to your daughters/sons (8 years old to 11 years old), buy this party one or the vacation one, don't buy the hot date and the sims online. The hot date is for teenagers, and the sims online is very dull and boring.

a must have for sim collectors =]

The Sims House Party Expansion Pack is a must have for Sims Collectors. It adds tons of new interactions to the game. Here are some awesome things about House Party

+ Throwing the party of the year is only a simple phone call away.
+ You can hire a caterer who will mingle with your guests, refill the buffet table and punch bowl, and clean up after your garbage for the whole day.
+ Your Sims have new ways to entertain yourself with such objects such as the bubble blower (seats four), sing songs and roast marshmellows (an adorable sight, really) with the campfire (seats 8), play a huge game of Charades with an unlimited amount of people, and more!
+ Have the Sims dress up from the Costume chest from Togas to Beachwear, it has it all!!!
+ Host a slammin` dance, DJ booth and flashing floors, even the cages! *wink wink...

If you have a party that's not very bumpin` the mime will come and bring down your party even more. He will try and try to entertain your guests (and fail time after time). If you have a pretty good party, party crashers will come and eat your food and break items around the house... but if you have a truly awesome party a celebrity guest will come in a limo and have the guests chatter the night away!!!

Here are some simple tips to throw a successful party:

- Keep Bathrooms in strategic locations and keep the stalls near the door, Sims use their hearing to locate things. Take the doors off your house bathrooms so not everyone crowds around the one toilet hushing everyone out.
- Try to keep every Sim in the house happy. Your goal is to have every guest with green bars. After everyone's eaten and relieved themselves, split up your family members and put them in charge of 5-6 guests with a different game (ie) 2 on the Bull, 3 on the dance foor, 4 blowing bubbles... everyone else on charades, etc.

Happy Simming. :)

One of the best expansion packs.

If you love the Sims you'll love this expansion pack. If you want all the Sims expansion packs make sure you purchase Livin' Large first so you don't have to uninstall House Party and any other expansion packs. House Party is the third one in the series. This game is GREAT. It allows you to have a party. Depending on if your party is good or not you may get a visitor. If you party is bad you will get a clown who will not leave you alone but it is fun to slap him. If your party is good than certain celebrities will visit you. I have had Drew Carey visit. The game gives you more options and more neighborhoods. Enjoy the game!

It's cool to have parties when a lot of people come.I have a huge party room where people dance and be the D.J. It's fun when you get a big cake and hire a male or female dancer and they pop out of the cake and do a dance, but watch out because sometimes they come up to you and make out with you or flirt with you.If you don't have this game you should buy it.

Its Pretty Fun!

This game is needed for your Sims because its about PARTIES! Even in the other expansion pack parties were just plain boring. You even have new characters to party with! And stuff that makes a party or camp out or whatever fun! Now I am 12 and I got this game because of good grades and I think it is worth it! So buy this game to have more fun with your Sims!

Good Game Bad money

this game was really good. i liked it a lot but unless you have a reasonable amount of space in your hard drive the game can get really slow and it takes 2 (real world) minutes to make your sim take 1 step. But ignoring that its a really good game but if you don't have livin' large already i would get that first (thats one mistake i made). I like the new objects like the bull and campfire but the cost is really irritating. I mean its just a expansion pack! But otherwise its a must buy , after you buy the original sims and livin' large ...

boring

I thought this would be good, but I found it boring. No new jobs, if you don't have lots of memory, the party goes slow. Sure, there is some cool stuff, but it is just chairs, tables, walls and floors. I mean, you don'r really look at the walls. No new beds. They could just make one new career ladder, but they didn't. I recamend that you don't buy this game! And there has been lots of complants about bugs in this ep! Save you money, and save it for better ep!
