Adds lots of more fun to the Sims' world, but falls short

This is an excellent expansion pack for The Sims'. It adds new features to the Sims. It adds: -3 new design themes: western, Hawaian, and Rave. -the ability to throw a party and hire a caterer -about 100 more items, including a campfire, costume trunk, mechanical bull, and cake dancers

I would recommend this to anyone who plays The Sims. However, if you don't have it already, I even more strongly reccomend you get Living Large (the other expansion pack). It adds many more features to the sims than House Party and adds new career tracks and more items.

I would have expected House Party to add more features and new career tracks.

THE SIMS IS THE BEST!

Ok, I wanted to give House Party a 7 out of 5 possible stars, but that's impossible. That's how good I think H.P. is. The Throw Party and Caterer options are awesome, as well as some of the new window and wallpaper designs...at KillerSims, there's even a TELEPORTER instead of stairs! The Sims House Party was the coolest game, I think......

Party Down With Your Sims!

From Toga parties to cake dancers this game has it all to party with your sims! With 100+ new items this game is very hard to get off of. You may now build every thing from Cowboy, Rave, or luau to liven up the party. Tons of new party items will help your party to become a smash or a snore. Another new feture in this game is the guests. When you're having a party a "Party-Crasher" will come over or if your party is a bore a mime might come over. But the best is the celebrity guest, I won't tell you who because that would give it away. So, House Party is ready for you, but the question is, are you ready for House Patry?

A great expansion pack

I really like this expansion pack because it's really fun, but, it's not good for kids under 13, although, me and my friends still play it because it's fun. I love simulation computer games because you are the boss and you can make the people do whatever YOU want them to do.I hope other people enjoy this computer game like I do.

Never boring!

I've always loved the Sims. Then the expansion pack, now the house party! I LOVE IT! There are new costumes, a dance floor, DJ system, Caterer&mime, and new tiki stuff. I think it's a reasonable price also.

I brought this game in May. It just blew me away. Everthing is so well presented and fun to use. I was addicted for hours. You just don't get bored like with other games, because there is just so much to do. My house had a stripper come, then we made drinks....danced on the dance floor....rode the bucking bull....swam in the beautiful pool...relaxed in the spa....watched t.v on our flat screen t.v.....sang karoke...had a vist from the clown...played pool....worked out....played drees up...had sex...got married...had....it just goes on and on!!!!!!

Worth every cent!

A lot of great new objects and things for the Sims to do. I can't tell you how entertaining it is to have parties. You can get Sims drunk (use the punchbowl - they hug people, tease people, cry and the like) and get them to dance. You can even hire a caterer.

Unsuccessful parties will attract an annoying mime (who steals from you too), successful parties will attract gatecrashers (who break your things and dance with your guests - causing jealousy among other Sims) and/or Drew Carey, who will go around chatting to people (and flirting with some of them).

The new objects and things in the building mode make the houses look a lot nicer. Tropical themed things, Western themes, Rave themes... You get extra neighbourhoods as well.

The game runs quite well on my computer (Pentium III, Windows ME), but takes FOREVER to load.

Basically, if you like The Sims, you'll like this.

Good Sequel

This is one of the best sequels I've seen so far. You can turn your house into it's own club, from the dance floor, to the gogo cages, to the velvet ropes outside your house. You have it all. (...) Well, have fun!

Adds more to later expansions...

The Sims House Party was originally created with the purpose of making social interaction easier, however what it failed to do was add lots of new social points interactions, and mainly focused on giving you new objects where you can have more then one sim involved.

There are three main themes that are included in both the objects and decor. First the tiki theme, which is really well detailed and comes in handy later iwth Hot Date and Vacation when building swim shops and Island retreats. Then we have the country theme, with a mechanical bull, western bar, and campfire to tell spooky stories or have a sing along. Finally there is the industrial/rave theme, with inflatable couches, a really cool bar, and the best set of objects from this expansion pack; the dj booth, dance floor, and dance cages, which reallllly are great for other expansions in the future.

There are a few other cool options with this game, including the "Throw Party" option with the phone, and the caterer who can show up and fill up your buffet table and punch bowl for when you have guests. The costume trunk is also pretty cool when you want to have theme parties. While the game does have a lot of neat new objects, it isn't the best one out there, but a definite plus to have to expand other areas (like downtown, vacation, old town) because the objects are some of the most fun!
