Don't waste your money!

I was very disapointed in this game. It looked like so much fun until i tried to play it. It was so confusing and frustrating. I recomend Roller coaster tycoon I&II. They are much more enjoyable.

Pathetic Maxis Version of Roller Coaster Tycoon

This game is one of the worst games to come from Maxis. It is incredibly boring, in part because of its limited possibilities and its bland themes. If you're going to by a game like this, go Roller Coaster Tycoon, without a doubt, it is 50x better, and 100x more realistic. I haven't tried SimCoaster yet, but I hear it's better.

As said in the other reviews, this game does not work on Windows XP, their website is down for "essential" maintenance, and I threw the box away so I cannot return it. The game may be great on Win98, but there really really should be notice on the box that the game doesn't work on XP or at least an adequate patch available on their website. I agree that the EA has some responsibility for making their games playable on all current platforms! I'll be selling my copy if anyone wants it!

I honestly don't think they could have made this game any worse if they tried! It is the most boring game in the world, theres nothing to do, all the worlds are the same, basically it sucks. If you want to get a theme park making game get Roller Coaster Tycoon, its really fun. If you buy this you'll just be wasting money, because trust me, you will never play it again!!!!

This game [is bad], to be quite blatient. It is extreamly hard to get your funds going up, for starters, and there are many other thing wrong with it. When you are suposedly losing money, your actualy gaing money, but some times you can go rupt anyways. The rides are a joke, and the interactive "let-u-ride-it", isnt interactive. Over all, the only reason I gave it a single star is that when you finaly start making money, you feel so good that you actualy defied what the degsiners seemingly wanted you to do, loose! This game is a definate disapointmen from Sim, and I wouldnt pay so for it.

I was really hoping this game would be good. I think Rollercoaster Tycoon is one of the best games ever made and seeing this game on sale at Best Buy seemed like a good choice. Although the game looked like a slighltly more whimsical RCT, I was really excited about riding my own rides and walking through the park. Unfortunately the game is too slow and the actual things in the park are not interesting enough to make you care about the first person point of view. The game is more like a silly N64 game that is confusing and tedious than an actual simulation game. Unless you have alot of room on your computer and a great graphics card I wouldn't recommend you buy it, and even if you do I still wouldn't. Like everyone else's review I agree that you should spend your money on Rollercoaster Tycoon and leave this one to rot on the shelf.

I cant believe the makers of SimCity 3000 would want to put their name on this piece of software. I have a pretty modern PC (HP Pavilion 380 MHZ, etc. etc.) and even though I toggled the options in their "control panel", I was still faced with choppy game play. It was SLOW! So, I went to the web site and downloaded a "patch" to supposedly fix that problem. Well, this just made things worse. The graphics were now that of an Atari 2600 with a snails pace gameplay! The only 'good' thing about this game, is that you can ride the rides. Even then, you still experience the slow gameplay. I originally thought it was because I didnt have a fancy 3D accelerator card. However, they give you a choice of using one or not. Even after I chose not to use one, the game play was STILL rough (? ).

If you want a fun theme park game, check out Roller Coaster Tycoon from Hasbro. Roller Coaster Tycoon made me realize it wasn't my system that had the problem, it was Sim Theme Park. The system expectations for Sim theme Park seem to be too high today for most systems.

WHY IS IT SOOO SLOW!

I'm a fifteen year old kid who has completely mastered the "Roller Coaster Tycoon" games. They are easy and very challenging and entertaining. Any way, last christmas, my mom and dad bought this for me thinking that it would be the perfect gift. Welllll, I was so excited and I popped it right into my computer. It took about a half an hour to install, and when I finally got it installed, the game stalled for about 3 seconds almost every second. I was sooooooo frusturated. I put it back in the box and took it back to the store and told them that they gave me a broken CD and demanded that they should exchange it for a new copy of Sim Theme Park. Well that in itself wasted me about three hours. So I took it home and it took another half hour to install. So would some one pleaaasssseee tell me why the game still stalls. I went on almost every single wwebsite that dealt with technical support for Sim Theme Park. That wasted about 15 days.

My Simtheme Park CD is sitting in its box with cobwebs and dust covering it.

Buy Roller Coaster Tycoon instead

Ive tried both Roller Coaster Tycoon and STP - Plus I am a great fan of real roller coasters. This game is OK but it just isn't nearly as good as RTC. Very slow and interface is messed up. Graphics are lousy.

"Sim Theme Park", or in Europa "Theme Park World" is a really bad game. "RollercoasterTyccon" + "Added Attractions Pack" must have 100 points comparing to "Sim Theme Park". I will always play RTC and never again "Sim Theme Park". If you plan to buy it, don't do it, buy RCT.
