A great game, but poor programing

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 2 / 3

I tried to play the game. It was starting to get good, exept the game crashed. I was very disapointed in the programming of the game and how the creators created it, to not being the best game ever. Beileive me. The game is good, but has very bad programming. Save your money, and buy Rollar Coaster Tycoon or maybe even SIM coaster.

I didn't like the game.

Roller coaster tycoon never came out for mac, so that's why I ended up buying Sim Theme Park. It was different than Roller Coaster tycoon in some good and bad ways, so I'll tell you them and you could decide if you want this.

Pros:

You can click on the ride button and ride any of the rides. Even the custom made ones like roller coasters.

You can walk around the park just like you would at a real theme park.

Cons:

Not enough freedom. Once you build all of the rides, in all four parks, that's it.

Everything would disappear when I won a key to open up a 4th park and I would need to reinstall the software. A major con. I never opened up in Space land.

So that was the pros and cons. You could decide what you think about it before you buy.

Sim Theme Park you design it. you build it. you ride it.!

This Game is a fantastic game because it teaches young children how to manage money and about outstanding loans.

STP also has a wide range of funky rides, shops, sideshow and
misselanious items to buy, build and ride!

All of these items go with the park's theme and are all different prices and sometimes hard to run!

Sim Theme Park isn't just a childrens game, adults will have lots
of fun on this game too.It is not just all fun it gets very challeging too.

Sim Theme Park has many things to comment on but my favourite is the little black man that gives you all the help you can get.

I have only just recently played STP and it is garenteed to have all the family laughing an having loads of fun!

Age is a Factor...

This game is meant for small children,7-16. This game is very easy to use. The problem is that if you are a first time simulation user, who is a young kid, you will be confused. Well, lets start.
-First, the annoying little guy who is constantly hastling you about things may be trying to make things better, but sadly, it aint helping. There is no option to turn it off. The first time a young child hears one of his damp jokes, he/she might laugh. After that, it is blaintly annoying.
-Second, buiding pathways, making roller coasters, and making them agree with eachother is a hard task.

And the pros:
-Very simple, if I explained it to you.
-Fun. I find that it isn't as addictive as Sim City 3000 Unlimited.

Overall:
5-8 year olds= This is good.
9-15 year olds= Stick with Roller Coaster Tycoon.
16+ year old= Try Roller Coaster Tycoon and Sim City 3000 Unlimited.

HORRIBLE GAME!

I would not go back to this game in a million years. This game is only cool because you get to ride your ride. Also, i had just purchased a new computer and this game would shut down while playing it. I would purchase RCT instead of purchasing this game. RCT is alot better than Sim Theme Park!

Great expectations, greater disappointment!!

Sim ThemePark was not what I saw coming. Right when I got it, I popped it into the CD-Rom on the computer. I was so excited! But then, the downside comes along. The installation takes forever. I had to try again to make it work. Then, it takes forever just to get into the game. And when I finally got into the game, the colors were all screwed up. Okay, so I messed with some hardware on the computer, but even after my mom fixed it, they still wouldn't work right!! And whenever I go into the game, it gets stuck right after I click "quit". So I have to restart the computer completely. Since the day I first got this, this game has not seen the CD-Rom. At all. I am looking into Roller Coaster Tycoon, and am hoping that it will work much better than this. Thank you for reading my review!

Good Offset By Bad

Starting off, this game only has one feature that overcomes theme park titan "roller coaster tycoon" - the ability to ride your rides and stroll your park. Everything else, RCT dominates. In RCT you have more options, hundreds of rides and accessories, customize your own terrain, and it has many more than 4 themes (you can put as many themes as you want in your park. You can also buy land to expand your park.) don't settle for theme park, buy RCT and both expansions! it's worth the money!

i like it but its so bloody hard to get space zone. the parks are cool. one hint to people who buy it: some patterns in the rides and shops make some bloomin well needed moolah(as you americans say).

Alright, not the best Maxis game out there...

I guess you could say that this game was pretty much a dissappointment. I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't already bought Rollercoaster Tycoon (even though I'm not really a fan of that game, it's a LOT better than Sim Theme Park). I felt ripped off when I found out that there were only four theme parks to choose from, which made this a very short lasting game. Another major problem is - you can even build your own rides! Talk about cheap.

Overall I give Sim Theme Park 2 stars, I gave the extra star because I probably would have liked it more if I got it before I got Rollercoaster Tycoon. Actually, this game is pretty good for all ages, it's just leaning a little more towards the younger kids, about I guess 6-12. If you want a game for older gamers, try Rollercoaster Tycoon. (I suggest that you just ditch the thought of buying a game about building amusement parks and get a game like The Sims or somehting).
