Windows XP Users Beware!

I had wanted a sim amusement park game, and was given this for Christmas. Unfortunately, my husband had recently installed Windows XP. If you go to the EA website they will tell you that this game is NOT compatible with XP. It does NOT say that on the box. Even with all the patches available, the game has many problems, (can't save my games, incorrectly counts how many tickets I've earned, and freezes up on me EVERY time.) There are so many fun sim games out there - try a different one!

For a younger audience than Roller Coaster Tycoon

My family has both programs. My 13 year old is still an avid Roller Coaster Tycoon Player after >2 months, but the 11 year old never got into it. He is into Sim Theme Park though - the different parks appeal to him more, as do the rides. And it seems like a simpler game that is easier to play right out of the box for his age group. Both are good games for two people to play together, discussing what choices should be made.

I was really excited when this first came out and could not wait to get it. ONce it arrived, I was pretty disappointed and frankly, was surprised that it came from the same people as SimCity!

The game is slow and choppy. You can only start in one of two "parks" before going on. I tried, really tried to like it but have not touched it since.

Try to find someone who has it or a demo to see and play before you pay the price.

this is fun....well not really.....

OK- I've had Roller coaster Tycoon forever. It's SUCH a good game. SimTheme park- no. I bought it because I wanted a new theme park game- new rides and stuff. I installed it and had problems right away. It has slow game play, fuzzy graphics, no point, no cool rides, and riding you rides is not cool at all either (I thought it would be!). So seriously, buy Roller Coaster Tycoon. it has cool graphics, awesome gameplay, a point (hey, what a concept!), and is SOOOOOOO much more fun. SimTheme park will make you want to kick your computer because of all the things you can't do that seem so entirely simple (like rotating rides!)! Oh, and the roller coasters are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better, cooler, and easier to build than SimTheme Park. Don't buy SimTheme Park- I already uninstalled it after owning it for 2 weeks!

Ick,

I own both roller coaster tycoon and Sim theme park, please, buy RCT, it much more interseting, and you get months of more game play, i was excited when i first got sim theme park, installed it and was entertained for maybe a total of an hour, it was horrible. I was entertained only because it was new and different the game was pointless, and it was rather dull. the rides were the same, ride after ride, the bathrooms we're always filthy. all the remedial tasks were annoying, you couldn't focus on ride construction. If you prefer to spend all of your time worrying about every little thing get this game if not buy RCT. I really reccomend it

I LOVED Theme Park and Theme Hospital, RCT is the best Sim game around so I had high hopes that Theme Park World (as its called in the UK) would go one step further.

Basically this is a kiddies game. Its NOTHING like Theme Park and your very limited to what you can do. There are fun rides and the best part is walking round the park and going on your rides but you dont have the same amount of control as in RCT.

Its nice to look at (although I didn't like the 3D style) and you need a good spec machine otherwise expect jerkovision (or if you build too many rides). Theres only 4 parks/scenarios! unlike RCT where there are loads plus an add on pack). My nephew liked taking pictures of the park and emailing them but it has taken a whole new view point into Sim games. This isn't a true Sim game - I think we need a bit of going back to basics here and seeing what makes a Sim game. Just look at Theme Hospital and RCT. It also loses marks for having the only online help assistant who is more annoying then the MS-Office Paperclip one! (Luckily you can turn him off!)

I stopped playing it after a week. So will true Sim Fans. Bring on another RCT add on pack!

Nice Try

It was cool, funny and entertaining for a day or two. But then I realized that there no difference between the parks, and after a certain point there is no reason for expansion. The rides are all the same and there is little imagination used. The coustomers who continually throw-up are annoying.

Very Slow on 450 PIII with TNT, Annoying Interface, Hard to get past first park, Limited set of ride types, Stay with RCT

This is a great game

This game is really good for children with active minds, and adults alike. This game is very involving, and adds a fun twist to the traditional Sim City game.

I have never seen worse!

O.k. I admit it, I could not wait to get this game! I ran to the store and bought it as soon as it came out! But I should have waited, Rollercoaster Tycoon has better graphics and the only thing you cannot do in this game is ride the coaster you build. Sim Theme Park has to be the worse game I have ever played, After the sims, and Sim City 3000 you would have expected a real looking game and even with my 4 day old computer it CRASHED MY SYSTEM ! And for the price of Sim Theme Park you can buy Rollercoaster Tycoon and the Corkscrew Follies expansion Pack! A DEFINATE DISSAPOINTMENT! SAVE YOUR MONEY. DON'T BE A FOOLISH IDIOT LIKE ME STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME! Not even a super computer can run this game at a good speed! You do not have to be a SYSCO AnD EBERT TO GIVE THIS GAME TWO THUMBS DOWN!
