I can't get it to work!

Okay, I absolutely loved the old sim theme park game, so I figured I'd treat myself to the new fancy-shmancy version. Yeah. right. This stupid game won't work on my computer! You need to have a CERTIFIED DRIVER to work it, and many computers (or at least of ppl i know) don't have this. It crashes my computer constantly, and I can't figure out how to make it compatible with my system. btw, any suggestions for this problem would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Really Bad!

"Sim Theme Park", or in Europa "Theme Park World" is a really bad game. "RollercoasterTyccon" + "Added Attractions Pack" must have 100 points comparing to "Sim Theme Park". I will always play RTC and never again "Sim Theme Park". If you plan to buy it, don't do it, buy RCT.

Very Cool and Easy to use

This is a really fun game that challenges you to think creativly and have fun. Even I, a completly inept computer user can play it and have a lot of fun! It is definatly good for all ages

Decent game but lacks certain qualities

This is by no means a horrible game. After playing rollercoaster tycoon and then simtheme park, well simtheme park has lost a lot. It is not as easy as rct and not as addictive, but it is a decent game to play. But if you have played rct then trust me this will NOT be too much fun.

Alway Quits!

This game would be a great game if it didn't quit all the time. I only played the action simulation game (like a demo) and thought it was a good game. I tryed to play a full simulatoin game and the game quits. I restarted the computer and restarted the game. I didnt even get the game fully loaded before it quit again. I had to reinstall the game to play action simulation. I tryed full simulation game but again the game quit. I woudn'y recomend you buy this game. It is only a waste of money.

Not Worth it, Get Roller Coaster Tycoon

I thought this game looked like it would be great-- but it turned out that it was boring, irritating, not to mention that it has bugs- my computer is almost brand new, and this game would crash every five minutes. A few months later I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon, and I became addicted to it- I LOVE it! If you are interested in this game, I recommend that you buy Rollercoaster Tycoon instead, it's a lot more fun, and it doesn't have bugs- don't waste your money on Sim ThemePark!

Sim Theme Park

Well, I know everyone has their own opinion about everything but it just gets me mad when people give it one star because it doesn't work with your version of windows, your graphics card won't support it, or your computer isn't fast enough to process the game, if it's a computer problem (with YOUR hardware) then don't rate it crappy. Also, some people definately don't give games a chance, like a lot of people say the graphics are terrible, they aren't bad and they weren't supposed to be mind-boggling in the first place. This is a simulation game, meant for you to make Amusement Parks and get high ratings for your park, that's the whole point of the game. The sound is cool, I like the music, the guide's voice is cartoonish (like the graphics and game set up) but he can get annoying at time, and you are able to turn him off anytime you like. The rides are cool, and the added ability to ride them is cool too. The graphics for this game, well, I like them, I like their cartoonish style and they aren't bad at all, but if you're looking for graphically beautiful games, look elsewhere. The game play is good, although I will admit it can get boring waiting for your researchers to create you new rides it's still interesting and fun to run a theme park on your own. The guide can get frustrating with his complaints (guests are litering, prices too low, not enough mechanics, etc.) but on your first go-round he can be a big help since there is no manual included. I wouldn't recomend this game to 15-23 year olds because it has a younger-aged set up and the overall style seems like it was made for kids. Adults may find plenty of fun in this game if they have kids, they could build parks together. People 14-12 may like this but the thought "this is for kids" would probably pop in their head when you first hear the guide talking, but when you get into the game it becomes hard to satisfy your customers completely. So, overall, this is a good game and I hope my review helps up the average score because, even though it doesn't deserve a 5-star, it definately isn't as bad as a 2-star.

Buy Rollercoaster Tycoon

I bought both RCT and Sim theme park. Buy RCT. It has better options and a lot more depth than Sim theme park. i played sim theme park once and went back to playing RCT.

It's No RTC

EA did not do a thorough job when designing this sim. The game itself does not compare to RTC or RTC's Extension packs. Unfortunately, the realism of the Sim did not compare to the quality and design of Hasboro Interactive's Roller Coaster Tycoon. Electronic Arts promises first person realism with this game, but does not deliver. The interface and design structure of a theme park is not enhanced by this simulation game. I would agree with another review in stating that this sim is merely a gaudy N64 scaled game.

Sim Theme Park

I found this game to be very addictive. You get to make four theme parks. The first two are the easiest. The other parks are at higher levels, and I found them difficult to maintain financially. There are no cheats for this game that don't involve editing game files, so making money is very important. If you keep losing money, you will go bankrupt, and the game is over. There is ample help in this game, in the form of what appears to be a talking black ant. He will give you tips on what you should be doing. You can also use the camcorder view to walk around your park as a patron, but I found that this gave me severe motion sickness! The game is still enjoyable without using that option, though. The graphics are cute and cartoonish, as opposed to completely realistic, so if that bothers you, you probably won't like this game. Personally, I thought the cartoonish style was fun.

I have to respectfully disagree with what others have posted, when they said that riding the rides was not fun. There is only so much simulation you can do with riding a carnival ride in a computer game. I found the effects for the most part to be what I expected, and riding a rollercoaster you made is definitely fun. In regards to it being hard to make money in this game, that is true if you don't know this tip that I found on a hint web site: you should concentrate on having having lots of drink and food shops in proportion to your rides. That's where you really make your money in this game.

While I'm giving this game five stars, based on my own feelings toward it, I can think of four reasons a person would not enjoy it. If you don't like the cartoon-style graphics, as I mentioned before, you might have difficulty liking the game. The ant guy who helps you does get really annoying, but you can switch him off in options. The third thing is my personal pet peeve, which is the janitors can never get the place quite clean enough. The fourth thing is the biggie: this game comes with NO manual. None. It comes in an empty cd case, without even a front cover. So I'm not surprised that many people here can not figure out to build the coasters, because it's not like you get any help from a manual. Personally, I did find this game highly intuitive, so I didn't have any problems learning it, but reading the other reviews tells me that others did not have similar experiences.

By the way, I have not yet played Roller Coaster Tycoon, so I can't compare this game to that one at all.
