This game is just plain AWESOME! It gets better/tougher as you get better. There are a bunch of easy-to-use cheat codes that are available via the mfgs website. the quick-save feature is a pleasure to use throughout the game (but don't forget to use it often or else you will NEVER finish this game).

Maz Payne has got to be the best game that i've ever played (honestly). This game has it all, from stunning graphics, enchanting music, smooth gameplay, and lasting excitment. One of the coolest aspect of the game is bullet time. You can get Max (the character) to do matrix style moves to doge bullets. It make syou feel like your in a movie. I also like the plot of this game. You're a fugitive police officer running from the law. Proving your innocence ivolves shooting the crap out of all the punks who get in your way. The game has graphic nove sequences to move the story along that are awesome. If you decide to get only one game this year (and you like edge of your seat action shooting games) get Max Payne! Its a gaming experiance youll never forget.

woah. dude. you gotta check this out. it like, slows down, you can see the bullets. also, the plot is all, like, twisty, and if something really important happens, it turns into a comic book. This game kicks [posterior]!

I wasnt really exited of gettin this game at first i just wanted to see the bullet time stuff and then i finished the first mission and then i wanted to see what happenned next,this game's got the best storyline i ever seen!!! and the graphics will kill u,they are great and real,... i should really congratulate the ones who did this game,the bullet time rocks IT REALLY ROCKS ...,MAX PAYNE IS THE BEST 3rd PERSON SHOOTER I HAVE EVER PLAYED,THE STORY IS GREAT,THE NEW BULLET TIME FEATURE ROCKS,THE STORY IS NOTHIN SHORT OF STUNNIN AND THE GRAPHICS MAKE U FEEL LIKE IF U ARE MAX PAYNE HIMSELF1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll admit i was hesatent at first to play this game, but once I started, I couldn't stop. This game is awesome. I will say though a downfall is the length,(it's a bit short), but it ends perfectly enough to make up for that. The graphics are great, the speed is fine... Very Fun. Storylines a bit morbid, but control and everything else is amazing. I would highly recommend getting this.

Wow, Max Payne is an amazing game. It is essentially a third-person shooter. But it is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill shoot-em-up game. Nah, Max Payne is an outstanding game that incorporates a huge storyline with phenomenal game-play. You are Max Payne, a Narcotics cop whose wife and infant are killed by trigger-happy junkies. Max Payne sets out on a crusade to find the source of the drug that the junkies were using, and to get answers as to why they chose his house.

The storyline isn't as simple as it sounds. Max Payne's storyline is set as a graphic novel, in which the "cinematics" that most video games use are replaced by a comic book. The language that Max Payne uses is highly symbolic and strangely chilling. I would say that the best part of Max Payne is its storyline.

Now, I don't mean to say that Max Payne isn't fun to play. No, the game-play is enormously fun and engrossing. There is a facet that sets Max Payne apart from all other shooters: bullet time. You can slow down the game speed with a click of a button, and do flips to avoid bullet fire. This was obviously inspired by the Matrix, and was pulled off briliantly. When you turn on bullet time, you can dive through the air while spraying with two Ingrams, or jump backwards while firing with a Pump-Action shotgun.

There is also a multitude of levels, so you won't finish this game quickly. Parts of the game are actually scary, as you travel through Max's nightmares and drug-induced paranoia.

Overall, I believe Max Payne to be one of the best games I have ever played. The only downside is that there is no multiplayer, but it is easily made up with incredible game-play, an intriguing storyline, and bullet time. For any fan of shoot-em-up games, THIS IS A MUST-HAVE GAME! Even if you aren't a fan of shooters, you might wanna buy this game. It might make you into a fan.

I mean like BANG..... This game is so cool i played it for three straight days... din't even sleep. I got fired from my job becasue i stayed home and played it. It is about as addicting as ... ....not saying i ... ..., or ... it. Just buy the game and you will have fun.

Max payne could easily be the best game of all time. The bullet time is the main reson without this max payne would be boring. this is the only game where you can actually move like neo. The other max payne clones are trash. There will never ever be another max payne. At the same time with having great action gamers will also get to enjoy a unigue grimy chilling plot. Many games promise to put you in a john woo flick or another type of action movie max payne actually does it. There are no cons about this game. A masterpeice!!!!!!!!
