Constantly freezes

A waste of money. Freezes constantly, even with 512 Ram, a Geforce 5200 video card and the settings at "Low". This is the second Ubisoft game I've bought that's like this. Also, go to their forums and you'll see more of the same. The game has just been released and they arleady have to release a patch.

THIS IS A VERY HARD GAME...I SUGGGEST YOU ALSO BUY THE FAR CRY BOOK...WITH OUT THE BOOK YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME...YOU CAN ALSO GO ONLINE AND DOWN LOAD A MOD TO MAKE KILLING THE TRIGENTS EASY...JUST GO TO GOGGLE AND LOOK FOR FAR CRY MODS OR FILES.

Yes as we all should know or heared recently Far Cry dose have good graphics heck they are amazing look at your gun when you run under the trees!
But game is not only eyecandy it is also a game that is one of the few because it has very PLEASANT "PHYSICS ENGINE" nothing more fun than shooting at the dead body of the soilder an see him jiggle lol! Story is ok mutants mercenaries beeng there done that.
THE ONLY well MAJOR problem in this game is because it is imensley dificult even on easy mode cause its not easy.First time i played it i was mad at my PC i wanted to rip my hair out cause its not shootem up but a STELTH GAME AS FIRST PERSON! WHAT! First person shooter with stealth hmm. Yes to play this you need to be sneaky and quiet your ammo and life bar run out very fast. ARCADERS GO AWAY DONT LOOK GET A DEMO or train playing Splinter Cell.But you who want a strong chalange and have much exp. pls go ahead.

Most Overrated, Over-hyped Game Ever!

This game is so famous and people have made such a big deal about it. I am half-way through the game so far. This not the tour-de-force that people claim it is. I don't know how all these people could think this game is so great. The graphics are crude and cheap compared to more recent games, like Doom III and Halo 3, Halo 2, and Halo 1. Even some other games from 2003/2004 (such as No One Lives Forever 2) had nicer graphics. I have a great computer with an Athlon X2 5600+ cpu and an EVGA 8800 GTX graphics card. I set the all the video settings to very high, and it still didn't look that good. A reviewer said Far Cry is very polished, but it is nowhere near as polished as Halo 1, 2, or 3, which are the most thoroughly polished games I've ever played. The enemies in Far Cry just have a small number of lines that they say over and over. You can play Halo 1 several times over and still hear new dialogue once in a while. The shadows in Far Cry are handled very badly. Sometimes the vehicles just start floating off uncontrollably while you are driving them, forcing you to quit the game and restart. Also the lighting is really bad. Oftentimes the interior areas are blindingly bright. I don't like excessive darkness in games but I don't like blinding brightness either! And oftentimes the colors are off-looking and the textures are cheap and crude. Although Far Cry has much better gameplay than Doom III, it still could use more polish and improvement. People act like this game has amazing AI, but it doesn't. It seems pretty ordinary to me! I played this game on "challenging," the middle difficulty level out of five levels of difficulty. I heard this game is very hard, so I decided just to play on the middle level. I usually play on the hardest or second hardest level in FPS games. For me, sometimes this game was rather easy, and other times I had to try over and over to beat a segment. This game uses the checkpoint system instead of letting you save anywhere. I didn't mind that in Halo, but in Far Cry it gets frustrating sometimes. Sometimes you have to win several difficult battles in a row beafore you can make it to the next checkpoint. One little mistake or surprise attack and you die and have to start over. So it's often a big relief in Far Cry to get the next checkpoint. This is a very long game. It gets a little monotonous sometimes. There's not that much variety in the gameplay. However it does have a few excellent puzzles. People have said this is an extremely smart game, but I found it to be nowhere near as smartly developed as people say it is. I think Far Cry goes in the right direction, but it needs a HUGE amount of improvement in graphics, polish, gameplay, etc. I hope they put that into the sequel. I guess I recommend Far Cry if you have an older computer. I want to find some newer games with better graphics and more polish for my new computer. Far Cry is very out of date now.

Worse game EVER!!!

I can't believe I paid money for this. This is the only game I intend to throw away once I pass it. I'm only still playing it because I'm trying to get my money's worth. First, thegraphics are not the best quality and yes, I do have a current video card with all of its uodates. Whenever I shoot someone in the far distance I get blood pixelating before my eyes blocking my view. The game freezes every few minutes. I can't adjust the sound so I have to turn up my speaksers just to hear the gun shots and the voice overs are drowned out by the background noises. What little dialogue I've heard was horrible voice overs. The story is stupid. I'm a professional story-teller so I'm picky about good quality stories. I can't wait to get this game over with. This game wasn't worth the gas money I spent to buy it.

Pitiful peace of mess

This game has some kind of program that causes sudden drops in framerate, freezes, and untimely loading actions, although the graphics are excellent, this game was poorly programed. I would like to know the people that programed this mess, to see if they are mentally retarded. This game does not have the looks, or feel of ubisoft. This game isn't anything like Silent Hunter 3. I have never given such a bad review as this, but I felt that I must , inorder to warn other gamers. there are a lot of first person shooters out there that is a lot better. The reviewer that stated something about having a crappy computer, let me tell you something, BOZO... I have a Gateway 550GR pentium 4, 3.4 gig processor with H/T ,over a gig of DDR overclocking memory, 200 gig hard drive, ati radeon pci EXPRESS 128 meg graphics card with all the bells and whistles. I have a top of the line computer, but I still have problems. This game needs a patch ASAP. As for the reviewer that stated that he has played it once, and now he is going to play it twice, he probably have the farcry cheats. I have the farcry cheats, and have finished the game also,with all the settings set to very high,and ultra high. YOU SEE AT THE VERY END OF THE GAME AFTER YOU KILL THE LAST SCIENTIST ON THE VOLCANO, YOU RESCUE THE FINE LADY, JUMP ON A SHIP, AND GIVE HER THE SERUM, THAT KEEPS HER FROM BECOMING A MUTANT, THE .....END. My reviiew will stay the same, the water doesn't look as good as the water in Blackhawk Down, doesn't even come close to the water in silent hunter3 OR Pirates of the Caribean, Thank You p.s. go to ...cheaters heavens, you will find a zip file, download this file to your desktop, then extract all to the farcry folder.,and have yourself some fun.

Idiot demo won't even accept my custom key mapping. It doesn't even accept my right mouse click as a backward move. If the demo is like this, then why should I buy the game? Stupid game for sure.

I bought this based on other reviews here. The game play is just lousy. The plot is lame. You want a good shooter with a plot, this misses on both counts. Look elsewhere. I am only pleased with the fact that I got it cheap. I uninstalled FarCry and gave it to a co-worker. They tried for a few weeks and have since uninstalled and given it to someone else.
