Great First-Person Shooter

Simply put, this game has great graphics and it is a ton of fun to play! It is probably my favorite in recent years. In case it helps, some of my other favorite first-person shooter games are Battlefield 1942, Ghost Recon, the Doom and Quake series, and going way back, Duke Nukem 3D!

Fun Game

I liked driving all the different vehicles and the weapontry was nice. My only wish was that it had a quick save F5 or something as many other games do. I don't worry about a story line for my first person shooter games so just having fun shooting and being shot at was good enough for me.

If you want to play a game that you have alot of control over and can play more then one way this is it. At times its like a vacation in the tropics with super graphics. Its just a blast to play.

Far Cry is another great game that can make you waste a lot of time. A great game with fabulous graphics and a decent storyline. The boss battles as usual take some time to win. A hard core gamer would like this game on its hardest mode. If however playing games is your hobby, that is you want to take some time off from work to do nothing this game is a very good option. Overall a well designed game.

If you like first Person Shooters, You have to buy this game. As a matter of fact it should not even be a question. For 10 bucks How can you lose? Huh? I bought this game 2 years ago, back when it was still 39.99 and I will tell you. I got my money's worth, the CD actually stopped working because I played this game too much. The AI is smart and does things you will not truly expect. However, every once in a while you get a dumb AI, but it is very uncommon. If you play single Player on the hardest mode, you can only get so good, and every once in a while the AI will give you an butt whooping. During play the checkpoints are arguably to far apart. But that is the fun. It should be a challenge to get to that next save, besides, if you lose, you just get to kill more and is that not a plus? The maps even are big and does not make you feel that your are boxed in or have to take a specific route, like with every single FPS. There are also lot of place to take cover, behind rocks, trees, boxes, etc so you know it will have and does have the perfect mix of the old school style shoot outs. For game play, it is hard for me to even start, I have to say that it has the best game play out of any First Person Shooter despite the graphics being dated. Once you beat the game, the first thing you will want to do is have a snack, then go back and try to beat it again, and again, and again, compelled to do even better each round. This will be pretty much the only game you will really need until CRYSIS comes out late this year. As a matter of fact, I am going to play Farcry right after I get finished with this review, and chances are, I am even playing it as you read this review

Absolute Awesomeness

Ok. So I go out and get this game and the first thing I notice is that there are 5 discs!
So installing takes about 15 minutes (on a not-too-stellar computer)
I start playing and notice the awesome graphics and sound.
IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE GUNFIGHTS HAPPENING IN YOUR LIVING ROOM
Anyway, The voice acting isn't too great, but that is easily overlooked.
I start playing the first mission and I have to reload around the 5th checkpoint like 20 times!
The game is ridiculously hard because of the crazy AI.
The enemies in this game are like super-smart and they killed me over and over and over.
This game is addicting. Even though I kept losing, I kept replaying until I won.

The bottom line:

Great sound, bad voice acting, ridiculously smart AI, AWESOME

I am primarily a fps'er. I must say this is one of the best out there..at least until Crysis is released. Great graphics, a nice variety of gameplay and some hot action. Worth every penny

This version of Far Cry beats all the others in every way possible unless you prefer a run and gun fast paced game. In this one its a lot slower and involves a lot more sneaking around and stradegy

To me, an old guy whose played most of the FPS games out there, this one is about my favorite. The graphics are exceptionally good. The scenery is beautiful. The weapon selection is realistic and, best of all, when you shoot someone, they go down, unlike many other games where many shots are required to bring down an opponent. The sniper rifle is beyond compare. I've played this game, through all it's levels, since it came out, and I'm still playing it between any new releases. I only ordered a new copy because I re-formatted my gaming computer and couldn't find my original to re-install.

This game was my very first shooter and I tried CSS, BF2 but nothing compares when you talk about this cartoon like, fun filled community of smack talkers. I love the user friendly simplicity of switching classes,
sniper to engineer, to grunt. Too bad the multi community is spread so thin that it warrants the arrival of it's little brother. Crysis. I will play this game until Crysis comes out! What can I say, just awesome.
