OK WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PEOPLE WHO GAVE THIS 5 STARS?

THIS IS POSSILBY THE MOST BORING GAME IVE PLAYED IN A WHILE. It sucks people, all you do basically is run and hide for cover while you use all of your ammo to kill one enemy (the locust horde) you shoot these things at least 50 times before they actually die. The night I bought this I played for and hour trying to get into it, but it was just boring, i was so excited to play it because everyone had been pumping it up and giving it great reviews, but to my dissapointment, it was really bad. What is wrong with these games now a days? They're all the same, nothing is stand out or extremely original. GRAW exceeds way above this game and Gear of War won game of the year? I have no idea how, the graphics are nice but overall the gameplay is dull and its just a boring game, after one night, i took it to the neighborhood eb games and traded it for store credit, that was the fastest ive ever gotten rid of a game, if your gonna buy it, wait until its 20 dollars then it might be worth it.

HOLY GOD THIS GAME ROCKS. I thought i would never stop playing HALO 2 but this game is insane. Graphics are the best ever on any system including PS3, the sound is perfectly done, the controls are easy and make shooting, moving, finding cover easy. Online CO-OP wow i am in love. So much action and intensity. BUY THIS GAME NOW!!

I am GIVING this game five stars, and I would give it more if Amazon gave me the option because this game really deserves it; even though that I prefer games that resemble real life instead of science fiction (Games like Rainbow six and Ghost recon are my type of video games).

The developers did an awesome job with the graphics, storyline and gameplay. You can even play the complete campaing in CO-OP mode through split-screen or system link, this feature was only available in games like Conflict Global Terror and Halo.

So far, this game has been the best game ever created for any console. If you love science fiction games or future technology shooters, you MUST BUY this one, but if you prefer present like games, then lets wait until Rainbow Six (las Vegas) is released.

Ok, so I rented the game through Game Fly not expecting much (like a lot of people) It was the first time in 4 years since a game has not left the xbox for halo for more than a few days. I'm sitting at work thinking about playing more GOW. It wont replace halo for me but it will get me to stop playing it for a while. 5 stars for this game

This is the best game yet that has come out for the xbox 360 yet!! I think it's a more dark and gloomy halo. I love the graphics and the movements in this game. Besides, they are making Gears of War 2!!!!!!!!

Halo who? Metal Gear Solid what?
No Doubt the best action shooter ever made.
-Graphics: hahaha, you serious? 5/5
-Gameplay: Again, you serious? 5/5
-Sound: The best musical score since the original Metal Gear Solid, definitley sets the dark, moody, gothic feel. 5/5
-Complexity: Not very difficult at all getting used to. Feels a lot like Halo. 5/5
-Camera: No faults noticed. The camera never gets in your way, and it always keeps the action in front of you. 5/5
Overall: Nothing I have ever experienced gaming wise has come close to what Gears Of War has delivered. The best game since Metal gear Solid (PS1). 5/5

So if you enjoy playing videogames, and enjoy spending your money on quality products, you will not be disappointed. Buy this game.

Not much plot. Not as many weapons as it should have. But the graphics are stunning and the action is intense. I like the control scheme but it sometimes is awkward, like when your trying to scamper while crouching and you inadvertently get stuck to a wall. Very annoying. And the tougher difficulty levels are not for the faint of heart. THEY ARE HARD!!!

This game is indeed well made. The graphics are amazing as it takes advantage of the Xbox 360's powerful processors. The sound is also good. Moreover, the soundtrack/score for the game adds a lot more excitement to the already excellent gameplay.

Gameplay is very good. Engaging the enemy usually necessitates the use of cover. The enemy seems to know how to pin you down (possibly a good AI engine).

This product is rated M so it may not be suitable for young children. There's a number of cussing dialogs in the game.

A mediocre and short experience.

Singleplayer:

The graphics are good and will allow you to proudly show off your Xbox 360 to others. The campaign is rather short. You will blow through it in no time. The levels are decent but nothing more. Everything seems to be a by-the-book design. It's comfortable but it doesn't offer anything new or exciting. The characters are all hyper-masculine stereotypes. This is rather typical coming from Epic. The enemy AI is reasonable but it never wowed me. Your squad mates are rather dumb and will become riddled with rounds on many occasions. The game tries to mask this flaw by allowing you to easily revive fallen team members. As such, there seems to be no consequence for their poor behavior. As is the case for many newer action games, there is no real ending to speak of.

Multiplayer:

The multiplayer is terrible. The weapons are completely unbalanced. Since it requires an ridiculous amount of ammunition to take down your opponent guns are rarely the way to go in you want to be successful. This leads me to the sticky grenade. Yes, this is the only real way to kill your enemies. The game breaks down into a competition to see who can plant one on the opposing player first. This makes for some bland and routine gameplay. There are only a handful of modes and almost all are a deathmatch of some type. The levels are sparse and boring. There aren't enough levels to keep your interest for very long. I was burned out after only a week or so playing online. You might hope for something more but you won't find it. There's no unlockable items and no real reason to continue playing. This game has some of the worst online play I've experienced in some time.

The bottom line:

Rent this game and complete the single player campaign. When you're done toss it to the side and buy something which is more worthy of your money.

Whoa steroids!

This is a really, really fun game, and if you have a good TV - really, if you have an X-Box 360 and have a blah TV you are wasting your money - you will be absolutely awed by the graphics. Unlike many 3rd person shooters, there is a tremendous strategic element to this - you'll find yourself engaging in lots and lots of flanking manuevers, for example, and using the terrain (and, in one particularly fun group of battles, the creatures that inhabit that terrain) to help you.

That being said, I swear... it's like you're playing the Jose Canseco Family Reunion there. To say that all the players (with the exception of the token chixxor) are ripped is to redefine the word "ripped" into understated uselessness. These guys are silly large and silly "tough" to boot. Inevitably, this means that homoeroticism rides high in this one. This isn't necessarily by design; it's just that when you get a bunch of sweaty, dirty, overmuscled men together, they could pretty much say or do anything and it would make you think of "Brokeback Mountain". Even the firing of their massive guns takes on an aura of unnecessary thrusting and pushing - and don't get me started on those grenades!

If you want to give Tim Hardaway a good what-for and show off your aWesome TV at the same time, buy this game and play it all the way through.
