Second only to Halo

Saying this I currently own and have completed these other first person adventures; Max Payne, Batman, and Halo. Only Halo is really in the same league as the other two are a bit dated and simple ports. Like Halo, Obi Wan is made specifically for the Xbox. I think in the future this factor will weigh heavily on game choice.

This game has the best sound and the best graphics of any xBox game to date. The multiplayer light sabre duels are exceptional. Let a friend play who has never seen the xBox and their jaw will drop.

Playing this game as it follows slightly before Episode I and during is actually more enjoyable than watching the real movie on video. Hook your xBox up to your stereo and you will appreciate the many layers of sound.

Only Halo is a notch better and assuming you probably already have this I would highly recommend this as your next ..

THE BEST!

I just got this game and it RULES! I had some doubts about whether or not I should get it after reading some of the reviews. The game has stunning graphics. The best example is the way the water reflects things. There are many missions and yes, you do get to fight Darth Maul. You have many different moves such as jumping, throwing, pushing, and pulling. The lightsaber is your main weapon, although you can also use rifles and various mines. The multiplayer option is great. There are a lot of people you can be, ranging from Qui-Gon to Mace Windu. The levels are beautiful and very large. This is a great XBox game even if you are not a Star-Wars fan.

this game is terrible. i only got it because i usually like star wars games. there are very limited force powers and you dont even get ANY other weapons which would be nice since the lightsaber doesnt work too well. the levels are small and boring. i payed more than 20 dollars for this game but it is not even worth twenty.

buy any star wars game other than this!

the worst star wars game

Not a bad game at all!

Whoevever says this is a bad game, there 100% wrong! This game has decent graphics for a Star Wars game, has a wonderful sountrack right out of Episode 1.The controls are pretty good, you control Ben`s lightsaber with the right thumbstick. There are 26 missions that are very well done. There are six force powers includeing Pull,Push,Jump and three other exciting powers. Practicly the only flaw is the game dose`nt take after the movie that much, there are only a few missions that do.This game deserves a A.

Star Wars Obi-Wan X Box

Another impressive X Box release, STAR WARS OBI-WAN is one of the most awesome games out there! With great graphics, clear sound, excellent controls and exciting action, this is fantastic fun for Star Wars fans!
Obi-Wan centres around the adventures of young Obi-Wan Kenobi across five levels as he battles the evil Trade Federation, the Black Heth crime organization, and other assorted villians. As you battle your way through all the levels, you can use force powers, including force pushing your enemies and doing some stylish lightsaber moves! What the game lacks in surrounding detail it makes up for in action. The story is exciting, if unoriginal, but the plot does provide some lightsaber duels! I play this all the time and I never get tired of it. Buy this game!

Good game, But LucasArts could have done better.

I dont own this game, But I have rented the game three times and I have almost beaten it, the graphics are great, music score is wonderful, character movement is also a wonder, but the only two things that i have found wrong with this game, first, was the voice over for obi-wan, it was terrible, Lucas Arts could have hired someone with a more convincing obi-wan voice. It didnt sound good at all. The next thing that was a problem, was when I de-activated obi-wans lightsaber, there's a quick pause in the game and then the game resumes. Over all, it is a good game for star wars fans to rent or purchase...

give it a chance

i know this game didn't live up to expectations, but give it a chance. yes, the graphics can be bad(more about that in a minute), the voice acting is terrible, and the enemy a.i is rather stupid, but for some reason it's still one of my favorite xbox games. i think it's a great game for when i just want to hack stuff up. single player running around with a lightsaber. granted its not as fun as halo, but you don't have to think while playing this game either. it's good for winding down after a hard day and you don't feel like getting amped up to play halo but you stll want to play something. back to the graphics, i found that the monster cable component set really helped this game a lot. more than any other game i have. obviously, component is a digital connection, but it really did tighten up the picture and the colors are awesome. just give it a fair shot.

And I was really looking forward to it, too

I saw that there was going to be a game for the XBox that allowed you to be a Jedi wielding a lightsaber, and I was really excited--I mean, that's every kid that grew up with Star Wars' dream, right? If only the game had lived up to it.

The graphics were just not up to XBox standards--everything just seemed fuzzy, not the crisp nice graphics that other games have. The graphics seemed about 4 years old, instead of the ahead of the times graphics you expect from XBox.

The controls were very hard to get used to. The manual suggests that its possible to do things that I was never able to get done. The basically necessary auto-target command was off by default and reverted to off in the middle of fights. And shouldn't a jedi have lightning quick reflexes? The pause between when I pressed the stick for maneuvering the light saber and when it actually moved was noticeable and irritating.

My biggest problem with the controls was actually more with the camera than the controls. Its a following camera, which for starters you have no control over. I thought every game now let you change which direction you were looking--what's with that? There were times that I wanted to look up or around, and it was absolutely impossible. The following camera also caused another problem. It changed view direction too quickly. Because the controls are in relation to the camera, not the character (pushing forward on the stick makes the character move in the direction of the view, not necessarily forward to the character's POV), having the camera move too fast means that you can have trouble walking in a straight line. This was most obvious when you round corners, or are backed against a wall. The camera sits off to the side of you (because it doesn't want to look at the back of a wall), and as you step forward away from the wall (by pushing to the right or left, since you are at an odd angle to the camera), it suddenly jumps to behind you. Since you haven't had enough time to stop pushing to the side, you are now running the wrong direction, and the camera continues to try to stay behind you, making the movement even worse. By the time the incorrect movement is done, you are facing completely the wrong direction, and your enemy has had a chance to hit you at least once, if not multiple times.

Finally, there are the out of game issues. Why does LucasArts force you to use the analog joystick/pad to maneuver through menus? Most games allow you to use any of the controls, and this just seemed like they weren't thinking of usability. And these days it seems like most games have made a point of having quick to no loading screens. Obi-Wan has the longest loading screens of any game I have played on the XBox, even when you are just restarting a level that you just played.

All in all, this felt like a game that was done too quickly without enough time put into usability--it seems like a few tweaks would really make it much more fun (the graphics would probably be a lot harder to fix, but I could live with that--the usability problems just ruined the game for me). Yeah, you get to play a jedi with a light saber, which really gets my adrenaline pumping, but if only it were a better game.

The Best Game I have Ever Played!

I loved this game, it was the best game I ever played! You play as Obi-Wan with his lightsabre and all and a load of force powers, such as push, pull, defend jump, and so on. The handling with this game is easy and the storyline is great. So of the reveiws for this game that I have read, people give reasons, but their reasons are not that great. I mean come on people, do you expect every single game made is perfect? Give me one game that has no flaw at all, that everyone in the entire world would like! You can't! I'm not say this game is perfect, but it's most fun I have ever had on a game... any ways back to the game, It's story star before episode 1 and over laps it. Jedi battle arena is alot of fun too. And if you ever need to brush up some there is a training level.
I love this game it's the best
