This game was alot of fun! At first, I didn't think I would like it because I thought it had to do w/ witchcraft & other stuff like that, but in the end, the story has a logical explination for everything. This IS the hardest ND(Nancy Drew) game yet, but it is still fun and I, personally like a challenge in ND games.
P.S.( sorry about the 1 star rating, it wouldn't erase when I came back to edit my review when I realized I liked the game.)

This game was good in a certain fashion. It was good in the scary way, but it just didn't seem to live up to the former ND games.
J'adore mais c'est difficile.

Bonjour,
Help me please!

This Nancy Drew game is no different from the other Nancy Drew games in excitement. I enjoyed how there are many secrets you have to uncover this one. It was one of the harder Nancy Drew games I played.
Play this one at "Junior Detective" level!

This game is spooky, and I like spooky games. It is also the most challenging one in the series, to date, which can make it quite boring when you're stuck. I usually play these games at "Senior" level, but I'd suggest playing this one at "Junior". You don't have to use the hints or refer to the checklist if you don't want to, but when you're stuck, it'll make things smoother and more fun. Unless you're a serious sleuth up for the cerebral challenge, of course. Great graphics.

My first review (for Danger by Design) was long(ish) so I'll try to keep this one short.
I kind of like this game. If I could, I would rate it 2.5. 3 is only 1 less than my review for DBD (and I like that game). The Curse of Blackmoor Manor has fun parts and partly interesting characters, but overall it moves slowly and is tedious. I didn't like how you can't go outside in "The Curse of Blackmoor Manor". Usually I don't really mind, but there isn't much to do inside. I'm going to give the pros and cons of each character.
Jane- Jane is the daughter of Linda, the person you are investigating. She is 12 years old. She also has a MAJOR passion for games. Also, a truk full of them. Which you can play. Acually, you have to play them in order to get certain things from Jane. In my opinion, her games aren't very fun.
Linda-Linda hides beind a curtain and doesn't like answering questions. She is also convinced she is cursed and seems to enjoy giving warnings disguised as threats (or are they threats disguised as warnings?) Depending on what you say to her, different things will happen, none of them important or necassary.
LouLou- a parrot! And the star of the show. Cute, talkative, funny, and smart- PLUS she gives hints! What's not like- ahem, LOVE?
Ethel- You only talk to her about 3 times the whole game. She pops up- and I mean, she literally pops up- whenever you least expect it. I like her, but man, did she SCARE me!!! She doesn't seem to like Nancy much- but I like her!
Nigel and Mrs. Drake- Not that interesting. Nigel, a historian, talks WAY TOO MUCH- AND is very boring. Mrs. Drake is OK but doesn't do much- just stands around, putting a damper on Nancy's "fun" (ahem)and Jane's, too and talking to her plants.
This game seems to be a random assortment of puzzles that takes a LONG time to solve. It is scary in some parts but not much. I like the 1st quarter of the game. The rest is pretty hard and boring. If you like hard puzzles and history, this game is for you. If not- wait until someone gives it to you. :)

ok im not going to do this all again, what i want to say is that you can only call ned in the way of nancy's friends and he doesn't give you hints or ANYTHING which i HATE becasue you can hardly talk to him and i like bess and george!!! plus this game is just random puzzles, a lot of them to do with alchemy and in my opinion, all hard. the 1st quarter of this game is fun, the rest, not so much. i can't say i reccomend buying this, though if you like challenges and puzzles thta really test your brain (and patience!) this is for you. oh and you get to order food and eat it (YUM!). but the british accents are pretty fake. at least jane's . oh well. i like the idea but i don't really like how the game is put together. if her interactive did this game with the same idea but put together in way that doesn't involve so many random things and more to do (not i don't mean puzzles) i would probably buy it. see fo r yourself. if you want to try buying it used. you might like it and it's less money. so if you think its a complete mess at least you won't have wasted as much money! :)

This is a great game. Never played Nancy Drew PC Games before. I had to use the cheat forums a lot because I kept getting stuck. This game gets scarier as it goes along.

I have played all of the Nancy Drew games and this one is my favorite. I love how it's set in England. This one is probably the hardest, and I couldn't get through it without a walkthrough. It gets creepy in spots but that just makes it more fun. Also try The Secret of Shadow Ranch.

So far, after playing about 5 Nancy Drew games this is my least favorite due to the obvious difficulty of it. The story line is great and this should have been one of the best games in the series but they made it so difficult and put in too many "red herrings". If you play this game, it is much more fun to have the walkthrough printed so you can follow along during the many impossible puzzles. It is also the longest Nancy Drew game I played so far. Her Interactive needs to understand the difference between being "fun" challenging and "boring" challenging as this game was at many times. Not a waste of money but should have been much much better.
