Great Game!

I read all of the Nancy Drew books when I was a kid, so I was intrigued when I saw that there are now computer games based on the books. Although I'm now 35, I decided to purchase a few and see how I liked them (I figured that if they were too "childish" for me, I could always give them to my niece...). However, that was not to happen, as I absolutely love playing them!

One of the best features of these games is that there's several levels to choose from - beginner to expert - and this will allow you to decide just how hard you want the game to be. The difference between the levels is the number & type of hints you get along the way.

This particular game is one of my favorites. It was actually quite difficult, and so I found it to be a wonderful challenge. The graphics are excellent, and you really get that mysterious feeling as you traverse this old, spooky castle.

If you liked reading Nancy Drew, you'll absolutely love playing these games! They are great for kids and adults alike. However, regardless of your age, if you haven't played too many Nancy Drew games, I'd recommend that you go with the beginner level for this game - if not, you may get frustrated quite easily.

Overall, this game is excellent! It has several new elements that previous Nancy Drew games do not. To begin with, this is the first game to have an animal that you can interact with. Also, this is the first game to have a younger character in the game at all. I really liked this game because it has quite a few games to play and "tasks" to complete. The characters interesting; however; you don't get to interact with some of them very often. This Nancy Drew game is definitely one of the scariest and most "real." It doesn't leave you wishing it was longer-it took me the most time out of all the games to complete. I would absolutely suggest buying it!

This game is so cool! I'm am 11 years old, and I am a boy. Ever sence my grandma gave me a Nancy Drew game, I started to get one after an other. Now I've got every one of them. Numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13, and 14. They are all so cool. The sad thing is, is that when I got every one of them so quick I've got to keep on waiting every year until the next one comes out. So, what i've been doing is, getting different kind of games untill the next Nancy Drew comes out. I've been starting to get some C.S.I games. They are really cool too! Right now i'm waiting to get the 15th Nancy Drew game( The creature of Kapu cave). Just to tell everybody, this game is rated EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! Which means it is not a game just for girls! Even if it was, then who cares? Just like girls say, they can do anything that boys can do.So, if we turned the phrase around then it would show my point. Fun and challenging

This was the first Nancy Drew game I played and it got me hooked. My husband was walking by during one of the puzzles I was trying to solve and he sat down to see what it was about and ended up playing the entire game with me. We both found this game to be very challenging and addictive. This is a great game for all ages although it might be a little scary for some youngsters.

One thing that we found amusing about this game was a little hidden text. There is a challenge where you will go downstairs to a room (kind of like a lab) and read some letters and notes. This is towards the end of the game. The main part you are supposed to read is darker than the rest of the text. If you strain and read the lighter text, you will see some interesting things there. It's been a while since we played it so I don't remember the exact text but it had to do with views towards the current president. We thought it was amusing that the writer/programmer put that in there.

Overall a great game with some difficult puzzles.

This was a great game. Probably one of the best yet. Kept me going for hours and the story line made it even more exciting. For anyone whos ever played a nancy drew game I highly recommend curse of blackmoor manor.

I got this game as soon as it game out, and it is the best game I ever played! It was more thrilling than all of the other Nancy Drew games. Curse of Blackmoor Manor also had great, not to mention interesting, characters.

You've already heard about how great this game is from other reveiewers, so I don't need to say much. I'd like to say one thing though. Most people think this game is just for preteen girls. But, that's not true. Curse of Blackmoor Manor, along with all the other Nancy Drew Games are games that are for all ages. From children to elderly, including men! I promise you these games will become a part of you. Once you start it's impossible to get them off your mind. You will become addicted! Curse of Blackmoor Manor is no exception. I am a male, one of my friends had me try one, and I have become a huge fan! It doesn't matter if you're male, I didn't think I'd like it either. I didn't want to play this dumb little girl game! But I played it, and now I can't stop! Men! You have to try this game! It's for you too! Believe me, it will be worth your time!!!!!!!

For nearly a millennium the Penvellyns have called Blackmoor Manor home, but few of these eclectic inhabitants found happy endings. Townsfolk whisper taled of beasts, warriors, witches, explorers and astronomers, but no one can explain why newlywed Linda Penvellyn hides from all. Is it a curse or a conspiracy? It's up to Nancy Drew to solve a mystery hundreds of years in the making! The ornate artwork throughout Blackmoor Manor deserves more than a passing glance. Great family game

This is the first game I was able to play with little help from a walkthrough. My family has two computers: I played this game on mine and my 8yo and 12yo played it on theirs. It was fun to be able to help each other when needed.

The game does get a bit creepy in some scenes, but my kids loved the bird. The puzzles weren't too difficult that they couldn't be solved. Jane's games were also fun to play with. The best thing about that is when you got stuck, you could take a break at any time and play a game with Jane (when she was awake and not studying).

It was also interesting how certain scenes were shown on my game that weren't shown on my kids game and vice versa. Sometimes the same scenes we saw on the different games would be shown at different points in the game as well. For example, in my daughter's game she saw both nightmares, whereas I only saw one. She also got scolded by Jane's tutor early in her game, while I got scolded late in the game.

The graphics were slightly better than the older Nancy Drew games and the music was not so ominous. While Nancy's friends weren't there to help, web browsing on the cell phone helps a lot with many of the puzzles. There is also a little bit of comedy in the game: Polly always has something witty to say and you also get to scare Nigel in the library.

Overall, this game is great to play with your kids.
